Recent Review: On the first day of my 2-month remodeling project, I didn?t know New Beginnings Remodeling and I felt apprehensive about such a big undertaking. At the end the project, Victor and Catalin have become my Romanian friends who helped me successfully complete the remodeling project, and who have an invitation to a home cooked dinner when my wife arrives in Seattle. During the project I?ve come to appreciate their hard work, high level of craftsmanship, integrity, consideration, and resourcefulness. Victor and Catalin worked hard every day. Not once did they slack off or take it easy; their hard work allowed me to rest easy. They even missed lunches when it was necessary to get the work to a necessary completed state. They consistently demonstrated a high level of craftsmanship. Regardless of the task at hand, hanging drywall, pouring cement for posts to support my new entryway beam, building walls, or more, they completed it with precision, efficiency, and sound construction, and made it look great. They displayed impressive knowledge of a wide range of techniques and materials. They made the term ?old world craftsman? come alive. They showed integrity throughout the project by completing the tasks as they said they would, or better than they said they would. I lived in my home during the entire project. Victor and Catalin explained the whole process and answered my myriad questions with patience and clarity. In one case, I had purchased a kitchen sink drain on-line. They showed me that it was not a good one and helped me pick out a sturdy, non-leaking one; they did this without making me feel dumb about my mistake. Victor and Catalin constantly showed consideration for me, my family and my home during the project. They?re polite and don?t smoke. They kept the work area clean and tidy; their most-used tool was a shop vac that they used from day 1. They even cleaned up after the plumbers and electricians. They delayed demolishing part of the kitchen so my daughter and I would be able to cook and wash dishes for as long as possible. I didn?t have a car during the project, so they gave me rides to Home Depot to get some items or to choose items, such as my toilets and shower walls. Remodeling a 1954 rambler entails inevitable hiccups; there?s dry rot, and walls that aren?t straight, for example. When problems came up, Victor and Catalin assessed honestly the problems and gave me reasoned solutions and helped me make decisions that made the project better. For example, they suggested replacing all of the subflooring in my kitchen, rather than just use leveler; they said I?d never be satisfied, and they were right. My perfectly flat floor looks terrific, and fools everyone; they think the flooring is tile, but it?s really vinyl. In another case, they worked hard to hang my IKEA cabinets on a wall that?s not straight and in a corner that?s not really a right angle. They did such a great job that they?re now replacing the valve and walls in the shower of my old bathroom. If you have a minor or major remodeling project, your best decision will be to contact Victor and Catalin at New Beginnings Remodeling. You?ll be delighted.
