Recent Review: I had the privilege of working with RJ and Jay from DaBella Exteriors Vancouver, WA. When they came for their initial appointment to talk about our roof, it was like we were sitting down with old friends. These guys were such a joy to have in our house. The appointment lasted about 4 hours. We had lots of questions. They were very patient and answered all our questions fully!! Our roof for our house that was built in 1900 was in super bad shape! The person who installed the current roof did not install any kind of venting. It made the current roof last less than 20 years. We knew there was rot/mold in the attic. Jay got up on a ladder and climbed into the attic access to check it out. There were many things that he learned that confirmed our concerns. He had tools to measure humidity, it was bad. Bottom line is that these gentlemen were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and an incredible pleasure to work with. They built a great relationship with my wife and I. I did my research and found that this company was #7 on Portland's list of the top 50 roofing contractors. I also had a chance to talk to some roofing friends who also gave high praises for DaBella Exteriors. RJ and Jay met with us a second time to secure the deposit to then get the project in motion. I expected a 3 to 5 week wait for the project to start. Within a week I got a call to schedule the roof replacement for the very next week. The roofing crew showed up on time on the initial project start date and started quickly doing what they needed to do. The roof is 10/12 pitch so there was no way I was going up there! These guys got to it!! They were VERY courteous and answered all my questions. They also helped me with tying in the upstairs bathroom exhaust fan venting (the previous exhaust we found just went into the insulation). They are almost done and the roof is looking great!! Our experience working with Dabella Exteriors has been incredible! I highly recommend!!

Recent Review: They were pretty backed up with work; therefore, from initial appraisal to workers on-site was about a month. I had hoped that the job would be done within 2 weeks of appraisal; however, I understand that there was a backlog. The actual work was started and finished in 2 days. Workers were on-site at 8:30 each day, working hard and professionally all day (lunch must have been consumed on the run because I did not see them take a break all day). Impressive work, they frame supported the 2d level deck, then removed the old rim board, stripped old shingles and weatherproofing, then re-installed from bare wall with all new material. I watched each step and I am confident that it was done correctly this time, alleviating any chance for future leaks. Further, on the first day, one of the workers became ill and had to leave for the day.  At this point, the other worker without hesitation continued to work on his own completing the first day's work on a task that would normally be completed by two workers.

Recent Review: He arrived on the morning of the day scheduled proceeded to get right to work. By the time we arrived at about 10 am. (we were not occupying the house, at the time), he and his crew had removed about a quarter of the old shingles, and was working on replacing one of the panels of damaged under-roof. His estimate said it would take 3 to 4 days, depending on what damage they found, and 2 and a half days later they were done. - - They picked up and removed all debris, inside and out. All communication with Tom (the boss) was friendly, and informative. It was a pleasure doing business with him, since he answered all questions, and then followed through with what he promised. A few days after completion, the county inspector checked out the work, and approved it. A few days after the inspection, the title company released the designated money for the job, and Tom came by with the receipt, and the permit/s for the work. I would definitely recommend Larry's roofing to anybody who needs this service. Hopefully I will never need this service, again, but should it come up, I would use Larry's Roofing, again.

They bid job and I accepted, but then could not get them to start project. I had to threaten to fire them to get them to start. The siding was installed well, roofing was a mess and they did the two dormers different flashing and damaged some of the structure to make it easier to install shingles. Windows are cheaper than expected, some double hung ones don't work and I will have to replace them the second floor bathroom seal broke and now the glass has condensation in it.

Short Review Dr. Roof Inc. replaced my ~3500 square feet residential roof system on the SW Washington coast. They did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. They charged a premium for this work but they did good work for good money. Long Review Fall 2013, I invited nine coastal contractors to bid on new residential roofing and most never showed up, or showed up once promising to return, never did. Dr. Roof Inc. showed up when they said they would, listen to my concerns and requirements, and followed up with a timely roofing bid. I put the bid on hold as I reconsidered everything new I learned about the pros and cons of various roofing solutions. Fall 2014, after more roof planning and repairs, I invited Dr. Roof Inc. and another contractor company to bid on the new roof again. Other contractor showed up initially but did not follow up with a bid. Dr. Roof Inc. worked on Labor Day to give me a revised roof bid for pitched composition roofing shingles (Owens Corning TruDef duration) and some extra work I wanted on the low slope areas (ice/water shield, stainless nails, and hand tab of nail heads, extra flashing.) After several follow up emails, a reasonably small deposit, and about thirty days later, the team got the old roof off, and a new water proof underlayment done during a good eight hour weather window (sunny, no wind.) Next two days the team worked in the rain to complete the new roof. Before hiring, I researched DR Roof Inc. with; Better Businesses Bureau, Angie?s List, the Oregon and Washington state Attorney General?s consumer protection office, each state?s business registry and contractor licensing, insurance, sanction history. I also Googled and Bing searched multiple reviews for Dr Roof Inc. For the most part I only found positive data trends on Dr Roof?s customer feedback or business history.  Final comment, when the team is up on your house working in the rain, it?s a small effort and goes a long ways in offering them some morning doughnuts & juice, a sandwich lunch & soda, and an afternoon coffee & energy drink.  These guys work hard.
