Recent Review: Service was terrific. The irrigation system is flawless, and is designed and built by Brett to be expandable at a later date - a great feature Brett recommended. The bluestone patio is amazing - please see photo. Note the attention to detail: properly sloped for runoff; stone cutting is flawless (look at the round edge); the sitting wall and fire pit are perfectly built, solid and gorgeous (note the built-in wall lights, on a control box and timer); and the final touches include edge bed shaping, mulch and boulders - yes, Corey and his crew added 3 boulders that are the perfect final detail (2 are visible in the photo). Before starting, Virginia Grounds had to excavate a ton of soil under the deck in order to bring it to grade with the rest of the back yard. All work was professional and meticulous; all his crews were respectful and polite.

Recent Review: I hired Miguel Amaya for three jobs. It was a company called MD Construction when I first contact them and then convert to M Amaya Construction when the job was done. I should the first customer of this new company name. During the work, I was able to discuss with Miguel over details and all three jobs were done nicely. I plan to follow up on the result in the next few years.

Business Description: Today, more than ever, it is difficult to find qualified individuals to do the painting and remodeling work while fitting it into our busy schedules. Let’s face it, when someone comes into our home, no matter how big or small, our schedules have to be rearranged and there is a stranger in our midst. We want to remove the mystery and worry from your remodeling needs. From the very beginning, thirty years ago, Pete and his wife based the start of this successful painting company on this premise. “We called our company the “husband and wife team,” says Pete, “so that people would feel more comfortable having us do work in their home.” As demand for services, Pete recognized the need for quality custom residential painting/remodeling and began ProHome. “We take pride in our reputation, customer service and work ethic,” says Pete Siegrist, owner “just like in the old days.” Currently there are three crews headed by a craftsman foreman with at least twenty years experience in residential painting and/or remodeling. Even today ProHome is a family business with a son, and a son-in-law heading up crews. When the job is completed, it is not unusual for the client to call and rave about the job. “You can’t put a price tag on that kind client satisfaction!” says Pete. In addition to the stringent qualifications of its craftsmen, ProHome does everything to assure the work will be properly completed. After an appointment is made, a representative arrives at our house, discusses the work, and estimates the job on the spot. There is no guesswork with ProHome. The next step is to meet the foreman you’ll be working with. How nice to meet the craftsmen ahead of time before the a job ever begins! One of the most reassuring things about work done by ProHome is the warranty. All work is guaranteed in writing. Again, this is part of the ProHome way of doing business. You may have had a bad experience with contractors somewhere along the line. With us the work is done as the contract states, done correctly and GUARANTEED. If there is a problem, we take care of it right away. The big difference between our guarantee and others is that we actually come out to your home and fix the problem during the entire warranted period. What can be better than that? Because of high humidity, rotten wood is also a frequent concern for many homeowners. Many times damaged wood is discovered while prepping for paint and remodeling work. You are immediately notified and, with your permission, one of our carpenters will replace the damaged wood. All wood is primed on the back side so that moisture will not rot the wood again. Our philosophy is one of total customer knowledge and satisfaction from start to finish. By providing clients with advice and good service, Pete is maintaining the most important thing to him in business, his reputation. Skilled and reliable help is only a phone call away…

Recent Review: The project was to construct a patio in our backyard between an existing brick patio, an existing brick walk, existing steps, and a small pond. In consultation with Williams, we developed a sketch to tie those four elements in appropriately and at the correct elevation to mesh with the surrounding structures. Williams was able to match the existing brick and wall material even though that patio was constructed in 2008. The design was executed to perfection producing seamless transitions to and from the existing areas. Workmanship was excellent. A foreman was onsite at all times and the work was completed without delays and interruptions. The site walkdown was conducted on Wednesday, 1/15/14 and work began the next day, Thursday. It continued on Friday, Saturday, Monday and finished up on Tuesday, January 21. Three to four workers arrived each day and worked from 8:30 to 4:30 or 5 PM with a short break for lunch onsite. The challenging cold weather during this period did not stop them. Since the patio is located at the back of the house, access for construction material staging was limited to the driveway. As a result, the crush and run and #57 stone base for the patio had to be brought in by hand on wheel barrows. This was accomplished with minimal usage of space in the driveway and no damage to the existing walkway and surrounding plantings. Site cleanup was complete and thorough. We are extremely pleased with the resulting patio and Williams ability to complete the project as planned and without delays, particularly in the challenging winter weather.

Reviews in Yorktown to Repair Walls

AA Better Interior Inc
Matt did an exceptional job repairing a wall in our home. The wall/overhang had been cut out due to some oversized furniture being moved in. Mat not only repaired the wall but also suggested putting in an arch so that in the future we could move the furniture without damaging the wall again. His drywall and plaster work was outstanding, he was able to blend the new work into the original 45 year old wall. Outstanding value and service!!!

ATidewater Masonry
I had previously hired Tidewater Masonry to repair cracks in the cement joints of my brick house, replace two rusting eight foot steel lintels over the front porch and repair the chimney crown after Hurricane Isabel when a lot off wind-driven rain penetrated the east wall and chimney. Over the years and several northeasters and then Hurricane Irene it became apparent when water continued to penetrate the east wall that fixing the top of the chimney and cracks in the cement joints had not solved my problem and the east side of my house needed to be totally repointed. Tidewater Masonry consists of the owner and mason, Leonard Cote', and one helper. Therefore, after Leonard quickly responded to my phone call and inspected the house, showed me the many cracks and spaces in the 85 year old mortor joints that were most likely the source of the leaks, gave me an initial estimate and we negotiated a final price, I hired him to start several weeks hence. Being a small 2 man operation, some patience is necessary while they complete any existing and previously scheduled jobs .Even so, he had to move the start date another two weeks or so after being delayed by bad weather on a previous job. However, once he started he worked straight through every weekday until the job was completed about 2 weeks later. Leonard is very meticulous and thorough. He was careful to select a cement that matched the existing cement. He was careful not to damage any bricks which are no long made and so are irreplaceable. In the few spots I did not think the mortor was sufficiently pressed into the joints, he always immediately corrected the faults. The only downside was the job created an enormous amount of cement dust generated by his angle grinder as he ground out the old mortor which blew everywhere, since he did not employ any dust containment system. However he and his helper spent alot of time hosing the dust off the back patio, front porch, the wall itself and the surrounding bushes, flowers, driveway and sidewalks. After the first day I was careful to move our vehicles a sufficient distance upwind each morning to keep them from becoming covered with dust. I am very pleased with the quality of Leonard's work. We negotiated up to 3 callbacks in case the wall still leaks. However I doubt that will ever be necessary. I give Tidewater Masonry my highest recommendation and will continue to use the firm for any future masonry projects.

Responsive, work was done as promised, cut concrete floor to put in foundation under it to ensure wall would not crack or sag, repaired front steps and chimney beautifully and new wall w/columns looks superb.  Somewhat expenseive but very thorough and detailed work.

AAFFORDABLE BRICK REPAIR, LLC
This job went very well.  Affordable brick did a great job matching bricks and mortar.  And the owner insists all work be done to his standards to the point of tearing out and redoing work with shortfalls impossible to spot for the nonprofessional.  I plan to use them again.

Excellent. Very conscientious, professional and reliable at a reasonable price. It was hard to find a contractor that was a Jack of all trades but Alex and his team did a tremendous job. I will be using them again in the future and I give A-Z Creative Contractors my highest recommendation.

ABORDEAUX CONSTRUCTION SVC LLC
Great-slow at first but Lee has some amazing workers-Sean and Josh. They were on time and worked very hard until the end of the day. They were courteous and knowledgable about their craft. They spent a good amount of time cleaning up after the work had been done. Very pleased with their work. If anything needs to be improved, Lee could be more communicative with his times and such- just know that you need to text him to prompt conversation. His crew is very responsive.
