Mr. Mike himself saved us. We paid and had an installation scheduled after purchasing a new Range Hood from Home Depot but was surprised that on the day of the install, no one showed up! We waited for a Home Depot Contractor to arrive all day.... finally after several hours of waiting contacted their service office to find that resolution wouldn't happen for several days and we had a planned graduation party the following day. Thought of Mike and contacted him... he came over right away and installed the hood range. His price was extremely reasonable. Home Depot's installation price was $150 and Mike's price was $60. So as I initially started out by saying, Mike saved the day! Our family would like to do business again! Thanks, Mike!

He arranged any appointment to be here within 48 hours.  Showed up 10 minutes early.  Fixed everything and insisted on showing me everything that he did, which I reluctantly did because the range exhaust is in a very cramped, hot attic space.   Great price! He is a professional, been doing this for 30 years.  Says he can fix anything and I believe him.  He has van full of repair stuff.

James was right on time for the initial job estimate meeting. On the first day of work he was a little late, but he called to tell me so BEFORE he was actually late. No problem. He worked like a dog for the next two days getting everything done. He was thorough, tidy, and pleasant throughout. Despite encountering some unexpected difficulties, he remained unflappable and simply solved them as he went. The estimate remained firm. He told me $1400 for the whole job and that is exactly what it cost. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will be certain to call on him again myself in the future.

Val Little handled the project with confidence and even though it went a bit past the target completion date, the kitchen turned out great and we are very pleased. He worked around the cabinet pro we hired for cabinetry only. He was careful to prep and remove appliances without damage. He addressed my concerns along the way and took care to correct anything that was not perfect, and I am one picky customer to work with. I expect excellent work and was not disappointed. Our dated kitchen is now our favorite room in the house and it looks fantastic!

The entire staff was phenomenal. The job was completed in 5 weeks. The contractors were clean, polite and on time. We worked with Rob, with him being available throughout the project and very pleasant to work with. His estimates were accurate, with our costs going up due to our picking a more expensive granite than "level 1."

BKempsville Cabinets
After a lot of searching, Kempsville was chosen because their solid reputation and good reviews. The cabinets are top notch and well-made as advertised. Kempsville falls short is in communication. In my case, it was not explicitly conveyed to me that the new cabinets no longer made it possible for the range hood to align with the existing exhaust vent piping. This added additional unplanned cost to the project. Read the contract carefully as Kempsville only does cabinets. They offered no suggestions or assistance with any other aspects of a project. The beautiful countertops, lighting , etc.., that you see in the brochure are all up to you. Also, cabinet work was suspended because of rain, and installers did not return for a week.

It took 1 call to schedule an appointment for estimate. This was scheduled for Thursday,  May 24, 2012.  Travis was a hour late for appointment.  However, his receptionist  called before the scheduled appointment to let me know Travis was running about half -hour late.  She asked me if I wanted to reschedule or have him still come.  I told her it was fine for him to come.  Travis arrives 1 hour late but apologizes several times for his delay.  I thought we had a good exchange of ideas and were on the same page.  He offered  great suggestions that I had not thought of.  Some of these we included in plan .  I was excited for further kitchen after our meeting.  He said he would e-mail me an estimate on Tuesday , May 29, 2012.  I have never heard from him since.  This was a shame because his company was my first choice after reading reviews on Angie's List.   I was hoping to have them do a great job in my kitchen so I could have them redo my bathrooms & other areas of my house. Part of my interview process when selecting a company  starts with the first call & continues through start of job.  Not getting in touch with me after appointment for estimate is one of those golden opportunities Travis completely failed.  I did not call him because that is part of my interview process/   if I have to remind someone of their failure to contact me when they said they would, this is an indication that they may not show up for job or start & not finish etc.   I am the one who is going to pay thousands of dollars for a service.  In return I expect to get great customer service.  There are too many people that would love to have this job.
