Recent Review: Overall, the process was very unpleasant as the contractor demonstrated that neither he nor his team had the skill to complete a rather simple basement refinish. Some of the issues that the homeowner has had to deal with include:  1. A newly installed bathroom cabinet fell from the ceiling and broke; 2. A leak occurred in the basement ceiling because when the drywall was installed a water pipe was punctured; 3. Two new water heaters were installed at the homeowner's expense because the contractor selected an electric heater when a gas heater was needed; 4. Seems on drywall throughout the finished basement are separating due to poor quality; 5. The finished design on the bathroom was not agreed on in the original contract; 6. Unnecessary holes were cut into walls and the HVAC due to the contractor's lack of knowledge of the system;

Recent Review: My laundry room was a nightmare of badly arranged appliances, curling linoleum and patched drywall from the installation of a whole house on demand water heater. Jeff took the room down to the studs, rewired and replumbed as needed for the new arrangement. To make room for the plumbing he had to create a new wall an inch and a half inside the old one. He layed some lovely travertine tile, patched and painted the walls and ceiling and enclosed the big ugly water heating unit in a lovely cabinet with louvred door. He also put up a laundry room shelving and hanging rack unit that I purchased from Wayfair. It's beautiful!!

Recent Review: After obtaining several estimates for tree removal, Crockett Home Improvement was reasonable and knowledgeable about what needed to be done, and had good references from previous work in the neighborhood.   They completed the job promptly and efficiently, and cleaned up all the debris after removing the large trees.  They did such a good job, we discussed other work that needed to be done, including a new roof and gutter and siding repair/replacement.  Mr. Crockett was very customer oriented, and advised as to what the best approach would be, but was also conscious of our budget restrictions.  We agreed on the work to be done, and did not see the need to obtain additional estimates because we were confident that it was a fair price, and that the work would be high quality based on our earlier experience and the quality of other jobs completed in the neighborhood. The job of replacing the roof and repair/replacement of gutters and siding was completed in a timely manner, the work site was cleaned up, and the final result was outstanding. We had minor electrical work done, as well as miscellaneous "handyman" jobs.   Crockett Home Improvement will be the only place we call in the future based on these experiences.  The staff is all very capable and courteous, they have an excellent work ethic, and Mr. Crockett is the most customer-oriented contractor we have ever worked with. Crockett Home Improvement is very reliable, the quality of the work is exceptional, and their prices are very reasonable. We highly recommend them for all home improvement needs.

Recent Review: His van has his logo and everything. We had to buy the water heater and all the essentials for it and he installed it. I don't know exactly what he charges for his labor. He is kind of a one man crew so he is a little hard to get back around when you need him. He is hard to get but pricewise I think he is probably competitive. We used him one time before when we had a leak in our attic and he helped to repair the ceiling and walls. He did this job for a considerably cheaper cost because it is just him and another guy that do it. He had a lot of the materials handy so he did not charge us for a lot of stuff. It was in the middle of February when it was negative degrees outside so he helped us do it in a pinch. He was very affordable for this job but we have also had him price a remodeling and it has been a lot more than other people. We have had no issues with anything that he has done here so I have nothing to suggest that it is bad quality. He is very professional.

Reviews in Vinton to Install Pool Heater

ACardinal Pool Spa & Water Inc
When we moved into our new house the in-ground pool looked like a frog pond. Green and scummy. We were told it hadn't been opened in years. I contacted every pool shop in town asking them to come out and give us a quote for at least the part they could see needed to be done. Half never showed up. Only 2 submitted quotes. Cardinal pool was the only company willing to SHOW me what was wrong with the pool and explain how it needed to be fixed. They went the extra mile to use parts and supplies we already had rather than just charge us to replace everything. And they guaranteed their work. We've now used their service for over 10 years. Cardinal pools isn't the cheapest in town, but they are the best. They stand behind their work.

FWater By Design
We have finally found someone else to work on this tub and will NEVER use the provider again. Last time we HAD to call them as the only local dealer that can get parts. They missed TWO appointments...never called. Then I get a call out of the blue....we fixed it (the tub is outside and accessible without us being there) ...it will be $400. I was a bit confused. Then I was told if I didn't like it they would come back and take the part out. I ended up paying them.  This was the LAST in a long list of problems with them.  We originally purchased the tub about 5 years ago (2010). They recommended a subcontractor to put in a concrete slab. They showed up, put in a HORRIBLE slab (uneven, not smooth, not even completely mixed). When Water by Design delivered the tub, the didn't use the driveway turn around, instead backing into the neighbor's yard, a lawyer BTW. They tore two 5 feet ditches in her yard. Then refused to fix it. We had to pay for and fix it ourselves.  We immediately discovered the tub had 2 jets installed backwards, the lid did not fit and it had a crack/leak. They did come and fix the jets and the leak under warranty, but the lid was never replaced until we ordered one ourselves from somewhere else and paid for it AGAIN. The product has been OK. Service has been HORRIBLE - rude, unprofessional and borderline fraudulent.  I would give them negative marks if I could.

We asked contractor daily, what about this what about that.  Each day of the JOB which was 3 months late they left the site before wife would come home from work, so they didnt have to get q uestions.  They refused to fix anything.  However they did TRY and FIX omne item, the drain issue by "saw cutting" into the deck.  Which did not help at all.  We have pitcures to document all of this process.  Including the contractor walking on the plaster before water was installed.  These were obvious things that were done wrong along the way.  We are in current litigation. They promised my family three weeks after the "dig" we would be swimming.  It was three months!
