Everything that everyone else has written about Valley Tile is true. They have beautiful, high-quality tile. Their employees are knowledgeable and were very helpful when I was choosing tile. But when I had what I consider to be a major problem, they were nice, but didn't think it was a big deal. When my tile arrived, I immediately saw that it was the wrong color. I went to Valley Tile with pieces of the tile I received and showed them. They simply said, "It's just a different dye lot." They didn't see a big difference and there were no apologies. On my way home I thought about the grout I had chosen, knowing it would not work. So, I went back to the store with the grout and asked that they replace it. They still had their doubts about my concerns and went to the back to get my paperwork to see what was ordered. As soon as they placed the original grout sample with the tile I had received, two employees both said, "Oh, you can't use that!" It was a significant difference. They did replace the grout at no cost. As I was going out the door, very frustrated, one employee said, "Don't worry, it will be beautiful." It is beautiful. Anything in the store would have been beautiful. However, it was not what I ordered and I have paid almost $1,000 for something I didn't want and will have to look at every day from now on. My contractor had gone back to Valley Tile to exchange the caulk, as the original color would not work with the tile received. A few days after the job was finished, a Valley Tile employee called me to ask for my credit card number to process a credit for the caulk. I told her again how disappointed I was, not only in the color change, but in their reaction to the situation. She was very apologetic then and stated that they could have sent the tile back. Too late for that! They had never offered to do that until after the fact. Plus, my contractor had been told it was a special order and could not be returned. This probably doesn't happen a lot, but statistics don't really matter when "the one time" happens to you. The color change doesn't really go with my towels, mats, fixtures and towel bars, so those will have to be replaced as well. I won't use Valley Tile again. Not because the color was wrong. Because they just didn't seem to care until it was too late.
