Recent Review: They are the only one to service my spa. I usually have the same guy come out and do the service. They are not that expensive but they do know what they are doing. I think that a lot of expense isn’t there fault as it just that I have an uncommon type spa. It’s not like they are not holding this area, so it’s pricey to work on. They are expensive but are within line with the industry. I would be using them in the future but if I find another competitor I might get an estimate from them.

Recent Review: I had called other contractors that I obtained from Angie's List and none of them were able to work on the jacuzzi; but they were able to refer me to Gary. He was fair and did a great job of evaluating the condition of the unit. He made an initial repair and needed to come back to fix other issues that came up with the jacuzzi. I am happy with the service he has provided.

FAqua Oasis Pools & Spas
From Day 1 I had a sense that I'd chosen the wrong provider. I had a little issue with my Tiger River spa, and Aqua Oasis came out and addressed it. It didn't go well, but it wasn't a terrible experience. Literally days later, a friend of mine noticed an obvious leak coming from my spa. I'd seen the water pooling outside the spa before, but didn't put 2 and 2 together (maybe I was turning a blind eye, as I recently purchased this home and spa). I wondered why Aqua Oasis hadn't diagnosed this obvious leak when they were here, and why my friend (a military intelligence officer, not a spa expert) diagnosed it instead; but I (foolishly) called the company again. They came out and told me they needed to tear the wood and insulation out of the side of the spa to get to the problem. They told me they'd charge $85/hour to do that, or I could do it myself. I agreed to have them do it (and wasn't sure why they had asked me to do it-- dentists don't offer to have you anesthetize yourself before a procedure!). They tore out the insulation (and left it lying on the ground), found the leak source, ordered the parts, and quoted me $280 to do the entire job. They also informed me that a new wooden side to the spa would cost me $200-$300, and suggested I could purchase plywood as an alternative if I didn't want to spend that. So far, so good-- they were giving me options. A week later (they had to order the parts), they came out and installed new hose/couplings-- and left. They hadn't replaced the insulating foam! I called and informed them that they needed to do the foam, as I wasn't paying them to do just part of the job; and they reluctantly returned and sprayed in some foam. Then, their techie told me that I could trim the foam myself with a saw, after it expanded and dried. I'm paying them $280, and they want ME to finish the job? They also told me they wanted to charge me extra for the cans of foam ($3/can), and that felt a little nickle-and-dime. I wrote them their check, and they left. After they left, I discovered that they hadn't used enough foam. They had hardly filled in the gap! I went out and purchased 2 more cans of foam, and finished the job. After it dried, I trimmed it myself and built and painted a really nice replacement panel for my spa (I should have hired ME!). I then tested my water, and found it was all out of whack. I found out from a friend that the Aqua Oasis guys had drained the spa to do the work (and had a little smoke in my back yard while hanging out), then filled it 75% up with water from my hose, and didn't bother to treat it. Great-- more work for me. For the first time, I had to adjust the water hardness, in addition to the usual balancing of Ph, Alkalinity, and Chlorine. That meant a 30 minute drive to a place in Newport News (a great place that I'll review later). It would have been a nice touch if they'd left me a repaired spa, with foam applied as it should have been, and having trimmed the foam, and with water that was good-to-go as it was when they got there. Then, there was the lead guy's attitude. He was "sullen." Yes, that's a good word for him. He wasn't helpful, and treated me like I was an idiot, a sucker, or both. He was passively and subtly rude, doing things like carelessly almost drowning my Motorola Droid (not a cheap phone) via inattention, then saying a listless "sorry" without breaking stride, making eye contact, or interrupting what he was doing. The guy's website says he has a BA in Business Management. I sure hope that's not true. Bottom line: This was not a pleasant experience. If the company rebuts my claims or somehow impugns me or my perspective (which I'm sure they will), just remember: BEWARE.

FPool & Spa Supply, Inc
This Company out of Edinburg is really shady. My handyman reached out ot the owner for assistance on a hot tub that was in-operational. The owner took the job and didn't inform the handyman that there was a $2.00/mille charge to repair the tub. The fuse cost $7.99, the service call was $100 and the mileage in total was $112.00. This company charged more to drive to the job without any warning than to actually repair the hot tub. They charge $2.00/mile for service without any warning. My LAST call to them cost me more in mileage than the fuse that was replaced. Again, there is no warning that the mileage is so expensive. I highly recommend avoiding this company. Any company that has to charge more for mileage than a repair should look for another craft. Hugely disappointing - you would do better off buying a new spa than paying anyone from this company.

CSpa Manufacturers Inc
Update: 7/12/2014: After further discussion with the General Manager Karla Swanson, Swim Spa Manufacturers acted appropriately and are providing the deluxe model spa for the advertised price of $9,995. The only thing the spa won’t include is the bar and bar stools. We ordered our spa today and were told we could expect delivery in 5 weeks. I will update this further once we receive the Spa and have had a chance to use it.

BThe Pool Store Inc
My interaction with them was good, but I had to call them a couple of times to come out and look at it. There was no response, so setting up an appointment with them was hard. I spent probably $250 on that work. I would tell other members that I thought they did good work, but it was just a matter of them responding.

ASolar Source
Outstanding!  Work was performed without my presence as I am currently overseas active duty military.  Installation looks great and performs as advertised.  Corresponded over email and SolarSource worked with me as this project was funded within our VA loan.  They were very patient with the process and showed up on the date required.  Permits were handled by them also.  Overall, I'm very pleased.

AUncle Ds Pools and Spas
I can't begin to express how hard this company work to help us through this nightmare by squeezing us into their schedule and do the best they could to clean up someone else's mess. They were professional, realistic, prompt with all call backs, very comparable with their prices and went out of their way to come up with different options to make things a lilttle more affordable since we were basically paying for 2 pools. Mr. Ritenour worked very hard to complete our pool within 30 days so that we could meet our deadline. We will defiantly be use Uncle D's for all of our hot tub and pool maintenance in the future. This company is looking for lasting relationships with their customer's and it shows in their work and dedication to their customers.

Although not required by our contract agreement, Kevin and his team worked an extra hour leveling the gravel pad onto which the 14,000 pound (full) Swim Spa was to be located.  I was impressed with their  "get it done" and get it done right attitude. Real professionals!
