Recent Review: Pretty quick work. Vance provided a free estimate, and that estimate was exactly what was charged. two workmen used both batt insulation and blown insulation to add insulation to my attic. the process was done in just under 3 hours. They allowed me to inspect the work, and worked quickly. The house (stairs, carpet, etc) were pretty messy afterwards with the blown insulation (even though they did put down some carpeting at the entrance), so i had to sweep/clean behind them after they left.
Recent Review: The job went great. They were able to give me an estimate a few days after I called, and complete work the following week. The only problem was that the installer did not bring enough insulation so it took two days to complete the job. During the second day, the installer discovered a water leak under my house -- he found it long before I would have, so I was able to get a plumber to repair sooner rather than later.
Recent Review: I am very happy with the service I have received so far. Commonwealth was the General Contractor for this work and oversaw all his sub contractors work. The remaining scope of work is drywall which is scheduled to begin this weds.
Recent Review: Jason, the owner, is awesome to work with! He is very honest, efficient, works right along with his crew, and goes out of his way to ensure things are done right. Jason gives a firm, reasonable price. We highly recommend him to others.
Recent Review: I first contacted J R in October 2013 for an estimate. I was not ready then but was getting an idea of how much money I needed. He told me he was coming Friday, but showed up Monday..that was ok. He looked at my ceiling and gave me the estimate. I contacted him again in February to let him know I was ready. I was a bit worried b/c he said the price may be higher as a result of the materials. However, he kept the price the same. Once a date was set, I prepped with plastic the night before and text him to let him know that. JR showed up when he said he would and began the work. He told me we did a good job prepping but he did a bit more. He told me to cut off my heating system as he did not want all the dust from the plaster removal and sanding to go through my system. i was glad he told me that. It took approximately 3 days. One day to remove the plaster and put up the drywall and insulation, another day to puddy, the the last day to sand. All three days he was prompt and professional. I was pleased with the work. Before he left, he told me if I had any problems with the drywall when the painter comes to paint just to let him know. I would hire JR again for all and any of my drywall needs. He also gave me some recommendations for other work that i am going to have done in my home.
Terrible experience. Person who came to quote the job didn't have a measuring tape long enough to measure my attic, I had to lend them one. Work was to be completed within 7 days (mid-October) and 2 days prior to the date the contractor notifies me they have a schedule conflict and will not be able to come out. I call the Home Doctor and they assign it to another sub-contractor who calls to confirm the appointment and that he is to install blown in loose fill, I tell him it is Batt and he tells me he doesn't do that. Call Home Doctor they assign it to another sub-contractor for an install 2nd week of November, he calls day before the install date and indicates that as he is based in Maryland 3 to 4 hours from my house in Richmond that he won't be able to do the job. Call Home Doctor they will try to reschedule for the following week. No appointment made and when I follow up the owner calls back to say he would like come out to make sure the measurements are correct and so that he can see for himself what needs to be done. He is due to come out on a Saturday calls that morning because he has a flat tire and reschedules for the next day. Measures, videos says he knows exactly what needs to be done. A week later the schedule the job, the day of Install they don't show up between 9 and 3 as agreed, at 4 pm they show up with loose fill insulation. Call home Doctor they reschedule for the following week (we are now into December) for install between 10 and 2, at 8:30 am the Home Doctor calls to advise the installer is at my house and if I am not back quickly they are going to leave, reschedule for the next day. They show up on time but tell me there is a problem. By this time I have talked to everyone in the Home Doctor Office and the owner has apologized and said he will adjust the price for the inconvenience. If I had been smart I would have requested my deposit back, instead wanting to give a round businessman another chance I stuck it out. The reschedule and then due to a schedule conflict the sub-contractor cancels, Home Doctor says they will get back to me with a new install date, but several days go by without a response, but the day of the cancelled install an installer shows up with can you guess - Loose Fill insulation. Call the Home Doctor who don't understand why they are at my door, installers not to happy as they have driven two hours for nothing. Job rescheduled to last week when the job was finally completed 3 months behind schedule. Installer was great. Home Doctor calls to see if I am happy with the install and to let me know the invoice will be emailed to me. I receive it with no price adjustment, I call them back and they say they will speak with the owner, revised invoice arrives with a $ 100 adjustment. My advise to anyone contemplating using the Home Doctor is to not even let them quote on the job, if it takes them 3 months to get 600 sqft of insulation installed I wouldn't trust them to put up a tent. By the way none to happy with Angies list as recourse in these cases is virtually nonexistent so I will probably also switch to a competitor.

The guys arrived on time and were very pleasant. They put a large tarp on the ground outside and were able to pass the insulation out through the attic window so that none of it got in the living quarters. They also closed the attic pull down stairs at one point to contain the lose insulation in the attic. I thought that there might be pieces of insulation on the driveway or in the yard after they left, but they did a great job of cleaning up and left no debris. They did a good job with the mastic as well. I was happy with the job and will contact them again for future insulation jobs.

ADEVERE INSULATION HOME PERFORMANCE
The crew was punctual, courteous, and professional. The job took about 3.5 hours. They covered all floors and steps with moving blankets and walls with plastic sheet from the house entrance, up the steps, and around the entire hallway where the pull-down attic steps were. They showed me the completed work which appeared to be excellent.

Sa;[esperson was on time and very professional. There was a mix up on day insulation and no one showed all day. We rescheduled and they showed up on time. They gave us a $100.00 discount for mix-up. A

Went great from estimate through insulation. The crew was friendly, helpful, quick and professional. We renovated our 2nd floor in a 100 year old house. Rob Vance came out to look at the job and ensured that our energy envelope was as complete as can be under the circumstances of 'this old house'. Questions were answered with consideration to our project along with solutions. We noticed the difference immediately; the house is much cooler with a higher setting of the thermostat. This company exceeded our expectations.

Prompt return call, stopped by within 2 days to crawl under house and measure and quote price. Scheduled me on the spot and did not try to over-sell me as a competitor had tried to do. Explained to me what was needed and why. Did the installation within a few days - showed up on time and worked quickly. Courteous and knowledgeable. Highly recommend. House is more comfortable and heating bill/efficiency have vastly improved.

It was extremely simple. The people I spoke with were professional and friendly. They came out and gave me an estimate quickly. Because the entryway to the crawlspace was not high, they stated that they would only install the insulation if it wasn't raining. I believe they actually did have to change the installation date because of rain. When they came out and did the work, they were friendly and knowledgeable and completed the job quickly. I had a friend who used to work in construction inspect the work, and he said it looked good. They also supplied me with documentation needed for the 2010 tax credit. My overall impression was that they made it easy. It's actually the only time in the past 6 months I haven't called a contractor back for some form of correction.
