Recent Review: Steve figured out how to access and repair a practically inaccessible drain without having to remove the bathtub that was leaking into the crawlspace. He was prompt, extremely pleasant to work with and did an excellent though job on a difficult repair. The price was reasonable. I highly recommend his work.

Recent Review: BACKS UP THEIR WORK I just bought a house, and most of the drains were a little slow to clear.  After the inspection, it looked like two drains were in real need of the treatment (hallway and basement), so I went ahead with the service and had a garbage disposal installed. A few hours after the work was completed, the master bathroom shower drain started backing up.  I wasn't aware that RooterMan offered a warranty on their work, so I posted a negative review on Angie's List, indicating they were tardy and did not finish the job.  Within a day of the posting, Chris made a valiant effort to reach out to me so they could resolve the problem.  At no additional charge, they sent someone out that afternoon to snake the master bathroom.   I also have to acknowledge an error on my part.  I originally posted that their service man was tardy to the appointment.  After speaking with Chris, the GPS on the service truck indicated that their man arrived at 8:45 to a 9:00am appointment.  So, I checked my planner, and realized that it was different contractor that missed their appointment window. RooterMan delivered on all their promises and went the extra mile to make sure that I was pleased with their work.  Other companies may offer cut rate pricing, but I would rather have the peace of mind knowing that RooterMan stands behind their work.    I would recommend this company and use them again in the future.

Recent Review: I called and spoke to his wife (I think) who manages the office affairs.  We got an appointment for a day or two later.  He was actually in my neighborhood that day and offered to come earlier after his first job was done, but it did not work for our schedule.  He came on time a bit early for our scheduled appointment.   The purpose of our calling was our disposal jammed when one of our kids put a glass down the sink and we did not see it before tuning the disposal on, thus churning the glass.  It turns out some disposals have an auto shut down feature to save the blades when they torque too much (my words, not his).  Jimmy walked in, took an allen wrench, loosened the allen nuts, checked the sink for additional debris, then turned it on and it worked.  While I felt  stupid and like less of a man, he was very professional, then offered to do anything else since it took all of about 4.237 minutes from the time he entered the house until he was done.  I think writing out the invoice may have taken longer, actually.  Anyway, I showed him a loose shower drain that I needed to caulk, but had not found time to go buy the caulk.  He grabbed his caulking gun and got it done for me.  He authentically felt bad that he had to charge his minimum rate since it took so little time, but I did not feel bad paying him at all.  He came when he was supposed to and fixed the problem.  I learned something new and will not have to call a plumber should the situation arise again.  And, since I liked his style and honesty, I will definitely call him again for future work.

Recent Review: Nick is EXCELLENT! I have told family, friends, and co-workers what a great job he did. He was knowledgeable, efficient, mannerly, and cleaned up the area wonderfully when done. I would definitely use Beck-Cohen again. In fact, a separate issue arose a few weeks later. I was not able to have Nick return to do the job, because he was on another job and I couldn't wait. The next plumber did an equally good job. I will definitely use Beck-Cohen for any future plumbing jobs. They charge by the hour ($120) instead of by the job... a little expensive, but well worth the peace of mind!

Fluvanna Plumbing was very responsive in setting up appointments and arriving on time. The work was done efficiently and he caught problems I would not have found in our plumbing and fixed them along with the hired work. They cleaned up completely. They are a husband and wife team and seem to work very well together on different aspects of the business. I Would use them again, definitely (I have another bath to remodel)!

This is a list of the problems Ted caused in my little cottage: Critical: Lacks vent for plumbing waste line, creating a dangerous situation All water pipes, faucets and fixtures, and water heater were filled with and damaged by gravel from inappropriate technique used to repair outside water break. He was explicitly told to wait until the water level dropped so my other worker could fixed it above the water line. He didn?t wait, but incorrectly fixed it himself. All plumbing needed to be replaced. Shower in bathroom 100% dysfunctional: leaked; shower liner leaked; drain leaked into basement; shower door installed improperly and leaked; pan unsupported. Unusable. Dysfunctional: Drywall in bathroom: incomplete and very poor quality workmanship Insulation not added to ceiling before Sheetrock installed Drain in vanity leaked due to missing part Toilet leaked into basement Improper electrical wiring; outside plugs not on a ground fault; bathroom, kitchen, and misc plugs on same circuit; lights and plugs were improperly wired Aesthetic: Bubbles under vinyl in bathroom floor because floor not prepped correctly?then poorly repaired with big holes visible Window in bathroom very poorly trimmed (gaps) Toilet poorly placed in bathroom A square sink was substituted for requested corner sink, claimed corner sink unavailable, but I found out it was Did not offer owner option for copper plumbing; unilaterally installed PVC Poor placement of bathroom fixtures, e.g. light was off by several inches from the medicine cabinet Poor placement of basement appliances?electrical panel too close to location for washer/dryer; not where requested by water heater Consequences: All plumbing, faucets and fixtures, and water heater had to be replaced Entire bathroom had to be deconstructed down to the studs and floor and rebuilt Electrical wiring?had to add more breakers and add ground faults Venting for plumbing had to be retrofitted on exterior since all walls now closed in. I contacted Ted when I found his email address. I proposed an amicable settlement. Instead of standing by his work and working toward a settlement, he took down his web page two days after I sent my email and ran.
