Business Description: I DO NOT PAINT HOUSES. I do Paint Color Consulting for Historic and all Other Homes by Email. Choosing exterior historic paint colors for your house is not easy. Our paint color consulting service makes it a lot easier. Historic homes are our specialty but we also do newer homes. We show you photos of your house in various house color schemes and period paint colors as if it were actually painted. We do NOT use colored pencils or gimmicky paint color visualizers as others do. Our paint color renderings look totally real as if your house was photographed after it was painted the chosen colors. The biggest mistake homeowners make when painting their house is color placement. Bad color placement can really upset the architectural balance of a house. We are curb appeal experts and will honestly critique your house. You may not like the truth but we will advise you where the problems are and what you can do to make your house look its best. Check out the before and after photos in our website’s portfolio. Also visit our web page for detailed information on our virtual house painting service and how it works. Our website is very educational and all owners of an older home should read it if you care about your house. Prices start at $250. The average price is about $400. Prices depend on number and style of windows, if there are trees in front of the house, architectural details etc. Email us with a large size photo of your house and we will be happy to provide a quote.

Recent Review: I called Rodney's Painting Service after checking the listings on this website. Rodney and his crew were wonderful to work with. From the beginning, he was good-humored but professional and willing to listen and adjust to my needs. We decided the job would be two coats (cutting in and rollering), one color above the chair rail, a second color below. The trim would not be painted, and they would use the paint I had bought earlier, when I planned to do the painting myself. On the day scheduled, Rodney arrived with 2 additional painters. The job consisted of a lot of brushwork--above and below the chair rail, above the baseboard, below the crown molding, and around 3 doors and the equivalent of 4 windows-- and not much roller work, but to my surprise, they finished in less than a day. I inspected the job and paid Rodney. The end of a very satisfactory transaction, right? Wrong. After the paint had dried, I noticed that some extensive re-painting would be needed--but it was my fault.  I had miscalculated the amount of paint needed and had to buy a second gallon half-way through the job. After the paint dried, the two batches of paint did not quite match, though the difference was subtle. A little re-touching was needed, as well. I called Rodney. Two days later, he was back with his crew, even though he has just started another (much larger) job. I thought I might have to convince him of the need to re-paint, but he took one look and agreed that it needed to be done. He and the crew handled the matter as expeditiously as they had the first time around. I offered to pay Rodney for the extra time, especially since it was my mistake, but he refused. He said the important thing was that I be satisfied with the work. I've always been a DIY painter, in part because I've seen the uneven cut-in and dried drips on my neighbors' walls. Yeah, I'm a perfectionist. But now I've found my painter. Rodney and his crew are professionals who show up on time, clean up after themselves, listen carefully to the customer, and do a very nice job. I figure I'll be calling Rodney again, in the new year--two hallways and a foyer need some attention.

Recent Review: Bassett Home Services was one of two handyman companies we asked for estimates on a small pantry remodel.  We went with Greg Bassett because he called back promptly to schedule an appointment for the estimate, arrived on time, asked questions in a manner that showed he understood what we wanted, and provided a quick and reasonable estimate. Greg and his two assistants arrived promptly on the day scheduled for the project and completed it on time.  What especially distinguished Greg in our view, however, was his response when it turned out that the flooring we had ordered turned out to be unsuitable for the all-weather conditions of our pantry.  That flooring, which Greg and his crew had glued down per the manufacturer's directions, began to separate and form air bubbles within 24 hours of installation.  Greg returned promptly when we advised him of the problem and consulted the same day with the flooring provider to determine what had gone wrong.  He returned with samples of a similar flooring that did not require glueing, got our OK, and returned to the shop to order it.  When the new flooring arrived a week later, Greg called to schedule installation the next day.  He declined our offer to pay for part or all of the replacement flooring. In short, Greg Bassett demonstrated first-class professionalism from beginning to end.  He is first on our list for future home projects.

ADavid Gomez Painting
David Gomez and his crew did a terrific job on painting the aluminum siding on my home. Professional, prompt, always responsive to calls, questions etc, no delays (except for rain). The crew was friendly and respectful of my property and did a beautiful job. No accidents or spills on my back wooden porch and minimal damage (no way to completely avoid it) to my plant beds. And his price was very competetive. I highly recommend him.

Once again Dan did outstanding work. He was friendly, punctual, professional, cleaned up at the end of each day and did a quality job. In addition, he went above and beyond. He vacuumed the top of my kitchen cabinets, patched the kitchen walls which had been damaged when I'd replaced the counter tops, sanded cabinet doors that were warped and had been rubbing together, and he even installed new hall light fixtures I'd purchased and unsuccessfully attempted to install myself. Very pleased with the work he did and appreciative of the extra assistance he provided!

They were timely every morning.  Arrived approximately 7:30-8:00.  Not only were they really efficient, they were clean, and fun to have in the house.  If they ever spilled any paint, I didn't see any.  Dan and his crew are extremely professional and friendly.  This is the 3rd time they have painted for us, and my confidence in them and their services builds each time they come out.  They installed crown moulding in my living room an it's flawless.  Dan even suggested we paint our media room in a way that I would have never thought of...and I'm so glad we listened to him. HIGHLY recommend Expertise Painting to anyone who needs painting done around the house.

ARodney's Painting Service
Rodney said they would be there at 8:00 and there were there at 8:00.  Got right to work.  Job was finished by 2:00 and this was a lot of painting.  Professional and courteous, couldn't have asked for more.  Job was done well and no problems; fixed some flaws in the wall (water damage and drywall tape) as part of the job.  I found the price reasonable (included paint).  I would use Rodney's painting service again and would recommend this service to others.

The job was on time and on budget.  They met all of our expectations.  This was a more complex job than anticipated as we got into unexpected wood trim rot.  This surprise was handled very well.
