Business Description: Ballard Mensua Architecture, led by Seth Ballard, NCARB, AIA, is a boutique architecture firm with a focus on creating truly custom designs and solutions for our clients. We have very strong vendor and contractor relationships, a result of our detailed understanding of construction. Unlike many architects, who like to design and then hand over control to the builder, Ballard Mensua maintains control of management of the project throughout construction. We have a unique cost-study process that helps to put our clients in control of spending... and results in completion of projects on budget.. almost unheard of in this business. Our designs speak for themselves... see our website at www.ballardmensua.com. Our business philosophy is that all clients should be a reference and we work hard to make sure to see projects through. We also have a unique ability to do very large projects without tearing a house down... we save much of the house and build around it... saving sometimes 10 dumpsters of landfill (truly green). Finally, where many architects bring their large ego and force their designs on clients... Ballard Mensua prides ourselves on tailoring designs to each client, listening to specific needs and working hard to make sure that our designs fit what a client is looking for. AFairway Custom Homes
Fairway Custom Homes builder worked with me in designing my home, recommended new construction lender(s), and keep me informed and engaged throughout the construction process.  My home is beautiful and I am completed satisfied with the owners (Bill and Kellie Ross) services.  There was no cost overruns and no delays.  They used quality material and kept me linked in with pictures of the construction progress and daily updates via their business web services.  They are a professional team - that I highly recommend to anyone thinking of building a new home or renovations of an existing home.  I am one satisfied customer!!

AG.H. Watts Construction
presents itself Dave call us before we have to call him about problems. My husband and I met the builder in November of 2012 when we were house hunting. The salesman, Dave Elsey, reviewed several plans, the cost of new construction, and reviewed a particular home site. At the time we decided to continue house hunting. After deciding we weren't finding what we wanted we contacted Mr. Elsey again. He showed us houses in progress. The workmanship seemed solid, the houses very nice, and details were added to make the particular homes work for the clients. After much researching, looking for reviews of the builder form other sources, and looking at the information provided, we decided to have GH Watts build our home. So far the experience with all the ups and downs, has gone well. We picked a lot, the house include standard items which would be upgrades for other builders. Currently the house is being finished and it looks solid. When two wall were up, construction took a break during a series of storms that included a possible funnel cloud passing the area. Trees were down in the area of the construction, branches were down all around, but the two walls stayed up! GH Watts has worked with us through many aspects of the construction, the crew working on the house was attentive to my requests during my first walk through, and when any possible problem presents itself, we are contacted to work out our options.

FL G Zindel Construction Inc
I hired this builder on recommendation from my architect. Zindel was also a real estate agent, which should have been a warning bell. He did not supervise my job because he was busy showing real estate and going on golf trips. The lack of supervision of Zindel's employees, and of the subcontractors, resulted in so much defective workmanship that it resulted in a lawsuit. For example, on the first day of construction, the guy on the bulldozer put the road in the wrong place because Zindel was not there supervising. All the holes for the recessed lights and fans in my porch ceiling were cut too big so that the edge of the wood showed around the lights. One ceiling fan was screwed into 1/4" plywood, rather than being hung on a ceiling fan bracket. Electrical wires were taped together with wire nuts inside the walls rather than being in a junction box. The electrical box in the basement was installed in violation of the building code. Every electrical receptacle in the kitchen was roughed in in the wrong place because Zindel did not supervise the electrician. At the location for the bar sink, the plumber roughed in the faucets in one place and then put the drain pipe about 3 feet to the left. They left stucco and concrete splashed on the hearth of the fireplace. The roofer that the builder hired installed the gutters wrong. In the process of trying to fix the gutters, the roofers riveted metal straps to my $35,000 metal roof. When the gutter repair was a failure, they removed the metal straps and rivets, leaving holes in the roof. My driveway washed out in the first hard rain and hard to be regraded and a new, large culvert installed. It washed out again and I had to hire a competent contractor to fix it. Zindel forgot to ventilate my basement and crawlspace. As a result, mold formed in the basement./crawlspace and I had to have total mold remediation after only living in the house 9 months. Zindel did not coordinate the construction of the house with the cabinetmaker making the kitchen cabinets. When the house was ready for the cabinets, the cabinetmaker had not even started the cabinets. Therefore, I lived in a house without kitchen cabinets for 9 months while the cabinets were being built. It was a total nightmare. And Zindel refused to take responsiblity for the mistakes, arguing that I should deal with the subcontractors myself, despite the fact that Zindel was paid to choose and supervise the subs.

AJade Construction company
After our new home was built, we asked Matt if he could custom build a shed to match the house, and he was able to do so for a fabulous building. We got a 16'x20' completely floored, framed and with windows shed that matches the look of our home exactly. Same vinyl siding, same shingles, split A-gabled roof line and more. Interior walls were 8', with regular 16" centers, so was able to install insulation and sheetrock. Matt used doubled joists that could be also be used as support for extra storage. Rafters were 2x8, as used in a home! Double barn doors and ramp allow easy access for 54" John Deere and still move around. Price was considerably less than a similar sized shed available from big boxed stores that don't have the features! Matt is great and provides great workmanship, takes pride in his work.

ADo It All Remodeling, Inc
The overall process was seamless.  Do It All really did Do It All!  Our neighbors were so pleased with the work they hired them to do various projects on their homes.  One neighbor shared their skill with his boss based on the work performed on our home and Do It All was awarded two jobs based on his estimates and skill. They are knowledgeable, polite, respectful, hardworking and willing to work with your needs be it budget or design.  They honestly go above and beyond!  You would be wise to hire them for any of your building, remodeling or small jobs.  They also build custom shelving for bedrooms, kitchens, media rooms...etc

AB & L Builders Inc
Perfect. B&L is a dream come true. After my horrible experience with Zindel, I was very wary and untrusting about builders. However, they have renewed my faith that there are competent, honest and reliable builders out there. I had zero problems. They found out what I wanted. Did it. Charged what they said they were going to charge. And did not make mistakes, or if they did, they fixed them and I never knew about it. I gave them a key to my house and I trust them to do work when I am not there.

AALLAN F CLARK CONSTRUCTION
Allan does very high quality work at a fair price, and is skilled at problem-solving with the inevitable difficulties that come up when building a home that has never been built before.  He uses excellent subcontractors and manages their time well; if he is not satisfied with their quotes or plans, he seeks someone else.  He made good suggestions about materials and linked us with excellent suppliers.   He was respectful of owners' wishes, and suggested options at different price-points. He welcomed the owners doing some of the work themselves (e.g. painting).  He created some lovely built-ins - window seats, benches and cabinets, and seemed genuinely excited by the work he was doing. Although we changed our minds about using geothermal HVAC, our house seems to be energy efficient.   Building progressed at a good pace until the very end, when Allan became involved in another project.  He is down-to-earth, a skilled craftsman and a pleasure to work with!

AThis-n-That Amish Outlet
This n' That Amish Outlet Owner Steve Payne & his team made several site visits to our property over a 2-month period from the original estimate and planning phase through various stages up to and including project completion; they were closely involved with us and the project every step of the way. The basic building was delivered late on a Tues afternoon (24 Jun) and the project was completed by 9:00am on Thurs morning (26 Jun). It's abundantly clear the PA-based Amish people build high-quality products and their work ethic, attention-to-detail, and commitment-to-quality were all very evident as we watched them work diligently to add the 2nd story and the roof to the shed. We are very pleased with This n' That Amish Outlet's friendly and professional team (Steve, John, and Kelley), and their partnership with the Amish has resulted in us having a top-notch, attractive, and very functional finished product. Thank you!

AOpportunity Homes Inc.
On time, on budget, courteous, professional, what can I say? I've recommended them to friends and neighbors who've thank me countless times for a quality builder/remodeler. Most of their service is by word of mouth or repeat customers like myself. My son's orthodontist office was built and has been remodeled by this company as well, and their work is superb. I highly recommend that you talk with them. They build both modular (not trailers) and stick-built custom homes, remodeling, roofing, garages, etc. You name it, they can do it. I love their can-do positive attitude.

AAbilities Unlimited
.The overall experience was fantastic.  We had a few disagreements, but were able to work things out.  This was the first time that we've had a house built, and to be frank, I was concerned about the process.  It's interesting how people feel the need to tell you all their horrible experiences when they find out you're building a house!  In this case, though, my wife and I were able to sleep very well at night, because we had complete trust in Darryl.  We are extremely pleased with the results and couldn't be happier.
