Recent Review: Mark is responsive to phone calls. He lets you know exactly when he can show up. He is polite and trustworthy. 1st project. shower/bath remodel of guest bathroom. All tile on walls with acyrlic tub. Also painted the bathroom. 2nd project. master bath/shower remodel. All tile with decorative elements. There was some damage with the ventilation system in the attic and a problem with mildew and mold behind the walls as well as the drain which added to the cost. But Mark was upfront and helpful. It is what it is; anywhere there is water there is bound to be some trouble. We had some delay from the glass and tile people but Mark was patient and finished the job as quickly as possible. Mark is a craftsman. He takes his time but he makes sure everything is right and as it should be. He also has a list of references which all gave him glowing recommendations. Overall, I liked him and will likely hire him again in the future.

Recent Review: Travis and sidekick Jay were a Godsend! They accomplished all of this and more in 2 days, while carrying on good-natured bantering the whole time. I asked a lot of them, but heard no complaints as they cheerfully got it done, during extremely hot, humid weather. These guys are amazing, and can do anything!

Recent Review: It went wonderful. Steve, our worker, did an outstanding job! He had the bathroom gutted in one day and this involved taking out an old 1957 bathtub. He made sure everything went well and worked extremely hard to please.  Our bathroom is absolutely beautiful and we are pleased with the work Steve did on it. Everything is absolutely wonderful about it - the vanity, floor, glass shower doors, mirror...everything!!  We would use this company again without any hesitation!

Recent Review: There were a lot of hurdles due to the original builders. Mike and lou moved all of the plumbing. That involved moving the pressure tank and water heater. They had to cut up the concrete floor to move drains for tub, shower, toilet and vanity. They had to reframe the entire area 1500sf., then rewired all new circuits. They insulated the walls and installed moisture and vapor barrier. Then installed drywall with trayed ceilings with rope lights concealed behind crown molding. They installed an engineered bamboo flooring. The bathroom is beautiful. My shower stall has pebble tiled floor with custom porcelain tile walls, with an accent strip of stones. They put in two shower niches with three shower heads and two shower valves. with all brushed nickel hardware. they installed a frameless frosted glass shower door. They did excellent work as always. this is my fourth major project by Mike, and I will use them to build my next project which will be a garage!

Excellent, careful worker. He works slowly but it is done right. There was a slight problem with the installation of the shower door and when notified of the leak, promptly repaired it.

Angie's List edited out 75% of my initial review comments where I went into great detail. If Angie isn't going to post the entirety of my reviews I'll stop posting them.  The grades do fit the DETAILED review I posted.  I'll come back and do it again when I have time to waste.  Excellent job on back door.  Dishwasher:  the cabinet space did not fit the dishwasher....wasn't planned for it but they got it in and put a nice matching cover over the hole beside the dishwasher over the cabinet space next to it. Neither the owner; Mike Motley; or his helper (who actually does 90% of the work) listen very well.  I had them do a toilet leak job at my house.  I told them what was wrong with it as soon as they came in but the ignored me and talked about it for literally 1 hour.  I watched the clock because I was so frustrated.  I finally got very assertive and insisted they put the seal between the tank flap and the toilet.  This isn't a seal that ever fails but my other contractor put it together wrong so it leaked into the toilet....not into the floor. I had to just force them to do what I wanted done while they stammered around for a whole hour! They did a very nice job on the bathroom

FF & S Building Innovations, Inc.
Poorly organized and performed remodel. Mostly subcontractors with the main sub causing a fair amount of collateral damage. I had to come home each day to correct issues, supervise, and explain to the subs how things should be done as the F and S project supervisor was rarely there.  Here are some problems: The tile installer didn't talk with us prior to the installation so I had to guess how much tile and what types to buy ending up wasting me money. Late arrival almost every morning. Wall damage from the initial demolition.  Ceiling damage from large amount of water leaking to lower level during the initial demo, they busted pipes and water leaked through to my 1st floor. One of the workers kept peeing on the toilet seat downstairs. Mirrors installed off center over sinks that the sub blamed on F and S.  Mirrors were too large and partially covered the opening for electrical outlets/lights but were installed anyway. Removing and replacing the mirrors caused a lot of drywall damage that I had to repair myself as they were glued on the wall. Soap dishes installed upside down. Cracked tiles on the floor that had some caulk placed over it and I had to insist they replace it as they were hesitant. Multiple cracked shower wall tiles they had to replace. Tile on floor installed and then other contractors came in and put scratches on the new tiles. Drywall work that was only sanded after I asked but still required me to skim coat it all as the finish was so poor.  Cable and phone outlets simply covered up by granite backsplash, (I assumed they would move them up). I had to ask when they would install the shower doors as they stated they were done, again because the project manager was rarely there and could care less about the final product. I had to remove all the protective plastic from the carpet myself and do alot of the cleanup myself. A cracked window behind a shade that I found right after they left. I took pictures of the debacle to prove I was not just a whiner/complainer and I had legitimate concerns. It took me a year to write the review because I was trying not to think about it, it was so stressful and such a miserable experience.
