Recent Review: If you are looking for either a QUALITY storage building or Gazebo these are the folks to see. They are polite, professional & know their product. The buildings are built off site by Amish craftsmen in Virginia who obviously take pride in their work. I could not find one blemish or defect in the construction of the Gazebo & I have done my share of carpentry. Again, if you are looking for a quality product and expert delivery/ setup these are the folks to see. You won't regret it.

FHerr & Company Building Contractors
I contacted him via his listed contact info and requested an estimate on building a door from my kitchen to the back yard. He was very hesitant to help me, despite being listed as a home contractor, and, after arranging a window of several hours he never showed up!

ARamsey Son Builders
Our overall experience was less stressful with their expert advice on ideas from detail to kitchen lay out. They always pointed us in the right direction but left the overall decision to us. They were very honest and fair to work with and kept our cost as low as possible. Building a house is a big under taking, but they certainly made the process easier.

I was very happy with the entire experience, and would DEFINITELY recommend Herr & Co.for all your building and construction needs.  I was so impressed with Jim and Mike - they both went out of their way to make the job run as smoothly and efficiently as possible, under almost impossible time constraints.  Talk about grace under pressure!

AWeaver Built Home
We were extremely pleased with the excellent craftsmanship in our 3,000 square foot house constructed of ?insulated concrete forms? (ICF), an energy efficient product.   This is not lightly said as my husband, who has engineering and building experience, is very hard to please.   Marvin worked with us every step of the way to build our house exactly the way we wanted it.   Subcontractors love working with him because he treats them with respect and pays on time, so consequently he gets the best workers.   Because of his extensive experience and relationships he has built up, he is able to get the best price on high quality products from his suppliers.   And he has great ideas ? whenever I asked him ?what he would do,? he would come up with good suggestions.   He also suggested changes that would not affect quality but would be more efficient and less costly

FLewis Custom Construction LLC
Not only is he unlicensed he did an absolute horrible job. I gave him a thousand dollars to get started but I couldn't get the permit for the storage building. He wouldn't give me the money back and had a lot of excuses. I had to come up with a thousand dollars worth of other work to try to get my money back. I was going have him to bust up and replace a side patio. He did a bad job at that and now i have a big standing puddle now every time it rains. Then he was to do the walkway from the side patio to the back patio. He used left over gravel from the side patio and no sand so all the blocks are all settle to different heights and are all uneven. This guy just does not know what he is doing. He told me I can take him to court because he had already been through it with other people. He mess everything up and I had to buy more materials just to get my thousand dollars in labor back. He threatened me with a sledge hammer.

DBranner Builders Inc
Branner builders used an out of state crew to assemble my modular home and stick build the garage which in my opinion was problematic as they appeared to be in a hurry to forget the job done in order to get home, and they knew they wouldn't be called back to address any workmanship issues. After receiving the Certificate of Occupancy I never saw Mike Branner again, he never returned to inspect any of the significant issues on the punch list. Some minor punch list items were resolved promptly by the Branner Builders handyman, one significant item required two complaints to the Better Business Bureau to obtain action and is still not resolved. Some of the more significant issues on the punch list included a chimney leak, the source of which was never found by the handyman resulting in me having to hire a chimney company to find and stop the leak. The drywall installed by Branner Builders was a problem from the start and is still a problem 3 years later; shortly after installation, we experienced separation at the seams and cracks at multiple locations as well as the walls in the stairwell leading to the second story bowing inward. After a significant amount of time and effort on my part to have the drywall issues addressed, Mike Branner sent his drywall guy out several times over a 3 year period each time resulting in thick drywall mud being applied only to have the cracks, separations, and bowing reappear in a matter of a few months. All of the drywall issues have returned since the last attempted repair and I'm still waiting to hear back from Mike Branner on a final resolution. Shortly after the 1 year warranty expired, I notified Mike Branner about a previously unseen leak above my garage door that was causing mold and wood rot so while his handyman was on site repairing other outstanding punch list items, he applied caulk around the garage door in an attempt to stop the leak, however it did not fix the leak. Frustrated that it was still leaking, I had a different builder inspect the garage door opening and he found a gap in the J-Channel with no sealant, and no flashing around the door opening; after providing this information to Mike Branner he said his attorney advised him not to fix the workmanship issues. My advice to anyone hiring Branner Builders to assemble a modular home or stick built custom home is this: play a very active role in all stages of construction; visit the building site often; demand quality work - if something looks like a shortcut it probably is; don't rely solely on the city/county building inspector, hire a third party building inspector to assess workmanship at various stages of construction (can't stress this enough, it will cost more initially but will pay huge dividends in the end); remember to continually inspect the home to uncover any issues as soon as possible. Most, if not all workmanship issues are the result of shortcuts and tend to not show themselves until after the warranty has expired and the damage is done, leaving you holding the bag. I also recommend not distributing the final payment to the builder until all the significant punch list items are repaired. Once you've distributed the final payment you have no leverage in getting satisfaction on the repairs.

AMARSHALL Home CONSTRUCTION
I did research on several contractors, on the Internet and word of mouth. Word of mouth is the best way to go. After a few months of going back and forth with estimates we decided to go with Marshall. They were not the cheapest construction company, but they have the best quality for a reasonable price. We went over options and through the process they very flexible. When we needed to modify the house to fit our budget they did. They started the beginning of March and finished mid August. Again we did do a lot of modifications that slowed down construction and had several weather delays.
