Recent Review: very professional and knowledgeable young gentleman named James came to my house to give me a quote for installing the gas line and for a return visit to connect the line to my new gas cook top once my kitchen remodeling was ready for this step.  James carefully examined my current gas line both inside and outside the house before advising that the line be run directly from the existing gas line in our basement furnace room.  This plan involved running a gas line a short distance through a drop ceiling in our basement and drilling a hole through the floor in our kitchen for the line to enter at the back of the cooktop cabinet.  While the quote given by James was higher than that received from two other plumbers I contacted, the proposal was clearly the most intelligent design and well worth the additional cost. The other plumbers had proposed running the gas line from outside of our house into the kitchen from an adjacent exterior wall at our deck.  This would have created an exposed gas line on our deck.  These other plumbers never even considered running the line from an access point inside the house. The gas line installation and connection to the new gas cook top had to be coordinated with my remodeling company.   James carefully reviewed their blueprints and contacted their project coordinator to make sure that the cabinet specifications satisfied spatial requirements for the gas line connection to the cook top.  They established a schedule for when he would install the line and return for the final connection and everything was completed on schedule and as planned.  The job was flawless from start to finish as far as I can tell and I am thoroughly enjoying my new gas cook top.

BRH&A had provided a quote for my boiler replacement, which I agreed to.  The price was competitive, but not much less than others.  One week before the job was to begin the owner Bobby Martin called to say he had dismissed his former employee and would not honor the quote provided.  The new price was going to be almost TWICE as much, which made it far in excess of the others.  This was unacceptable, and I was not going to concede to an excessive revised quote at the last minute.  This left me without heat at a time when weather was getting very cold, and finding a replacement was going to be very difficult because most decent contractors were already booked heading into the holidays.  The month I waited for the project to begin could have been used to secure another contractor, had I been informed early.   From my perspective this was completely UNETHICAL and unprofessional and should be noted by anyone considering this company.  As an Engineer and someone working in the construction field, I was stunned by the mismanagement and lack of integrity shown.

AW C Butler Heating & Air
This was not an e-z job. We have a finished basement. John (Butler's licensed gas fittter) snaked the line thru a  large channel in the ceiling that contained all utility and equipment lines (HVAC, Vacuum, electrical). Then up to the kitchen and kept the gas line and valve as close as posible to the wall to prevent the range from pertruding out from the counter tops and cabinets.

AService Experts Heating & Air Conditioning
Not being familiar with the area I selected  Service Experts because they could get here quickly.  It was an unpleasant job, and they stayed to make sure hot water was coming out of every faucet, and every tub.  They made sure they cleaned up after themselves, and were thorough.  They were very pleasant to speak with.  The only thing I am a little hesitant about is since they were here, I have not stopped getting phone calls from them asking me if I need additional services. It's too bad, because they did a really good job.  However, I'm not sure if I would ever use them again, because I don't want to keep getting phone calls like this.  It's not just once in a while, but once a day, every day, for months.  I probably wouldn't use Service Experts again, unless I was in a pinch.

AA-1 Heating And Cooling
From the initial consultations to the final walkthrough everything was performed in a first-class manner! The owner, Tim Kurstedt, took the lead on the project and was very thorough discussing options and equipment. He was very receptive to our ideas and concerns and he, as well as the entire staff, was very responsive to handle our questions. We were given detailed proposals to consider and thorough review of the scope of work to be performed including timelines. Our installers were very professional and courteous and were always punctual to the work site. They did a great job of letting us know where they were at on the project, what was coming next and what to expect while they performed the work. They maintained an impeccably clean work site and ensured that all areas of our property were maintained after their work. Post-installation inspections and review of work were performed to our satisfaction and we were given adequate training on the functionality of the equipment, preventative maintenance plans and assistance in the set-up of our thermostats and the monthly generator test. A-1 was very responsive to assist us with a few troubleshooting issues with our thermostats until they were set up to our complete satisfaction. Also, A-1 took care of all equipment registration and ensured that we had copies of registration and manuals and that we were aware of all of the administrative matters had been completed timely. I would highly recommend A-1 Heating & Cooling and can confidently attest that you can expect a first-class customer service experience, high quality equipment and professional and courteous installation and post-installation service. Thank you, A-1 Heating & Cooling! We love the comfort of our home!

ACMS (Commonwealth Mechanical Services)
John came by for an estimate on Monday. I called him Tuesday night after comparing all bids and accepted his. We agreed to Friday morning. They showed up on time with 6 people! John showed me what they were going to do throughout the day (I like to get details) and finished the job before 5:00 PM. i was amazed as they had to run a gas line to the furnace, run a water line to the humidifier, install intake and exhaust lines and hook it all up. I didn't realize how low my humidity level was until the unit was hooked up but John was right, it was 16%! I was not only pleased with the price and service but also thankful to John for showing me how the whole system worked. They also cleaned everything up.

The employee who dug up the ground to install the manhole did contact Miss Utility before he dug. Because of negligence on the part of Miss Utility, a gas line was cut and the gas company called out. This caused a one day delay for completion of the job. I also didn't think it should have cost so much. When a machine is used to dig, I don't think they should charge 25 dollars a foot. I thought that charge was for manual labor. The price quoted on the phone seemed to be less than what I paid. But, I would use this company again. Next time it will be cheaper since there will be no digging involved.
