Recent Review: Terri from Cornerstone Landscaping is awesome and definitely knows her stuff. We have a large maple tree that gets a lot of shade and is a tough area to grow grass. Even if the area did grow grass, it would be a difficult area to mow. Terri suggested an spreading evergreen perennial be planted in that area. Her crew was on time and did an excellent job with everything. The were very neat and polite and left nothing behind but beautiful flower beds around our house and pool. The perennials planted under the large tree are thriving nicely and the area looks so much nicer, not to mention less maintenance and weeds. We will definitely recommend Cornerstone Landscaping to our friends, family and acquaintances and will continue to use them for our own landscaping needs.
Recent Review: They replaced our whole pool liner. They fixed a lot of pin hole leaks. They patched and put a seal coating on the foundation underneath the liner before they put the liner in. They did a great job. The guy was wonderful. They were very prompt and reliable. They got to us sooner than we thought they would.
Recent Review: Elias Bonilla and his crew did a great job on the pool. They were very accommodating with special requests and Elias knows pool care inside out from many years in the business. I look forward to having them back next year though it will cost me more because I got an introductory rate this year.
Recent Review: Very thorough job of opening pool which is new to me. They have been servicing my pool for the last month and communicate with me every week immediately following the service. Very easy to work with..
Recent Review: THIS COMPANY DID A FABULOUS JOB. THE POND WAS DONE IN A TIMELY FASHION. THE OUTCOME WAS OUTSTANDING. I HAVE THE BIGGEST POND ON THE STREET, AND ACTUALLY THE BEST. IF YOU HAVE AN EYE THEN YOUR LOOKING LOOK FOR THIS COMPANY.
Recent Review: Town and Country Pools has provided excellent service on a variety of tasks in servicing my pool. In addition to pool opening and closing, this Spring they drained my pool and performed a complete cleaning. The pool hadn?t been opened for 5 years and was a complete mess. But their work restored it to near new condition. More recently, they found and fixed a leak that was causing significant water loss. Their service manager, Bill Mihos, has been particularly good with friendly service and good recommendations for dealing with a variety of pool issues. They?re not cheap, but the quality of their work makes it worth it.
Recent Review: Very well. They opened a pool that had not been operational for a couple years and were able to help clean it sufficiently that very little additional work was required to get it fully up and usable. (This is typical in my experience as it takes several cleanings and filter backwashes to get a pool clear especially after a lengthy time without use.)
Recent Review: They do great work. We had another company that gauged us and the pond filters and circulator were always breaking down. Since using Pond Doctor we have no issues. Twice a year maintenance and a beautiful pond that gives us a lot of pleasure.
Two employees arrived on time, were careful with our fish and respectful of our property. They did an excellent job cleaning the pond liner and making minor repairs. They completed the work in a reasonable amount of time. My lone suggested improvement is that they provide a couple of days notice on when they will perform the work.

In August 2009, I picked them to clean the pond for the first time (since I'd been at the house). They sent their A-Team: Hillary and a helper. In addition to cleaning the pond, she relaid the rocks, fixed the liner and waterfall. She did an excellent job. In early April 2010, I called to schedule a pond cleaning. Being the busy season, they were booked and said they expected to be able to do it around mid May. On Sunday, May 23, they called and said they could be there tomorrow. Not much warning, but I was able to make arrangements with work. The cleaning took about two hours. The people they sent over were not as knowledgeable as Hillary, but they did a good job cleaning the pond. Also when I called in Mid-May to get a better idea of when they could come over, I ended up talking with a man who gave me a lot of free pond advice and answered a bunch of my questions. Bottom line: They do a good job cleaning the pond. They are quick and know what they are doing.

Backyard Ponds of Beltsville, MD., installed my koi pond 2 years ago, replacing one that was horribly installed by another local landscaping company. They were quick, cleaned up when done and gave me an exceptional deal. I called them back this year to clean the pond. They emptied the pond, contained the fish and scrubbed it squeaky clean. No more dangling algae or dirty water. When I came home from work, it was crystal clear, the waterfall was adjusted for settling and the fish appeared healthy and happy. I would clearly recommend them to anyone interested in putting in a fish pond!!

FGreen Earth Landscaping LLC
We hired Green Earth Landscaping/VirginiaPonds.com in Sept 2018 to build a backyard fish pond. We are disappointed with how the project turned out, we have had multiple waterfall leaks, they punctured the liner twice & we found that the company had issues with communication, time management, customer satisfaction, including sloppy work & dishonesty at times. The project was planned for 3 days & was not finished the first time until 8 business days later. After leaks & issues it took 4 mos total before it was 'done'; however it still wasn't complete & didn't meet the contract. They punctured the liner in 2 places (& did not disclose 1 patch which gave us problems in March 2019). They had to rebuild part of the waterfall that was leaking & we have just discovered that the waterfall is STILL leaking (April, 2019). To remedy the depth building issues their only solution was to raise the pond liner straight up around the exterior of the pond & leave the liner exposed (~15 feet). My husband spent at least 2 weeks fixing the pond to raise the water level and remove the tripping hazards and repair our yard. We bought at least 100 bags of top soil, bought & spread new grass seed, bought & installed at least $300 of rock to remedy the tripping hazard around the pond & raise the water level. The first time the pond was filled the water was very murky. Owner stated they had washed the rocks & anything remaining would settle & be fine. After weeks of not settling & a few times asking, they finally cleaned the gravel during the pond patch repair. Prior to that I could see the layers of dirt on the rocks and there’s no way they washed it on the first day & left that much muck remaining. DESIGN: We requested & received a 10x20’ pond w/ a waterfall. We wanted a fish pond & were left w/ a water garden. There are two 4'x10' wide shelves on the left & right sides of the pond. The front & back shelves are 2' wide connecting those 4' shelves. Pond was intended for fish & we have 4 fish that are 2’ long. We are left w/ a 4’x8’ second depth of the pond (minus 2' for big rocks) so 2'x6' for fish & plants to winter. • The left side of the pond ranged from almost 8” to ~10” (but 3'x10' of it is 8"). My husband had to move the skimmer door & overflow valve to get it from 7 to 7.75 inches deep (why didn't they notice the lack of depth or move the skimmer?). During construction & after the shelves were built the owner told us the pond would be 12” deep all around. When I complained about the finished depth of 8" he said that Aquascape says it only needs to be 8-10” so this is "done" (even though he promised & thought it would be 12”). The 8-10” (mostly 8") is on a 4' shelf, not a standard 8-12” wide shelf. The 8-10” depth is unacceptable considering the shelf size. Multiple other contractors who saw the pond told us we have an "ornamental pond" not a pond for fish. • The owner also told us the 2' wide shelf they created is required per Aquascape guidelines, which is not accurate. • To get 8” deep on the left side of the pond the owner had to come back multiple times to pull up liner, leaving the liner straight up in the air (exposed). He stated this is a finished product (which is in violation of the contract). Owner told me they would use the gate near the pond & would lay plywood to protect the lawn. This was far from true. The equipment was HUGE & they had to use the far gate, destroying 1/2 of our backyard & a path in the front. We paid extra for excavation (b/c of a hill), but the pond wasn't dug deep enough. We paid extra for dirt removal, but they left at least 1/3 of the dirt to fill the torn-up yard & we still had to buy 100 bags of top soil to fill in all the ruts & unevenness of the yard. I constantly had to reach out for a status. If the owner said they were coming tomorrow, they wouldn't show up & it would be another week or more until someone showed up. This is about half the issues we had over the course of those many months.

CJohnson's Landscaping Service Inc
The design services for our yard were mediocre and there was a bunch of incidents concerning lost or misplaced drawings. The reset pond also came out of the ground. I was quite unhappy until I got the owner, Matt Johnson involved and he was professional, responsive and made good on the issues that were the Company's problems. So I would consider them to be reputable.

FMillennium Pool Service
Service was terrible. They closed my pool with it full of leaves. When it was opened in the spring, it was completely green, like a fish pond. They never vacuumed the pool. I had to take a sample of water in, get algae removing chemicals, and run the pool 24-7. Because it was so dirty, I had to strip out the DE Grids in the filter and clean them, reassemble the filter every few days. It took my wife and I a few weeks to get the pool to be ready to swim.

They came in and cleaned my pond up and got it going for the spring and summer. They took care of my fish, and made some recommendations for maintenance throughout the summer.

They responded to my request for service last week. I sent them a description and photos per their request. Then they said fine, they would be at my house at 7 am Monday. They never showed up or called. Would you pay in advance for work from a company like that?
