Recent Review: The workers from Merrifield did a good job. Some of the plants they planted did die, but they do come guaranteed. Their landscape designer was very good. She was very punctual and she took my wishes into consideration as she made her design. The installation was very good and they had to work around my irrigation system. They made sure not to damage anything. The pricing was a little high, but they did pretty good work. They were very responsive and punctual.

APaul's Best Lawn Service Inc
Excellent. My neighbor, Frances, who is a Master Gardener, and keeps her wooded area beautiful and natural, stated that "Pauls Best Lawn" did an excellent job for me. So, "Paul's" passed the "Frances" test, which is extremely hard to do!!. Great job!

AYard By Yard Makeovers LLC
Brian and his team (5) arrived very early in the morning. They did an amazing job. My garden, patio and surrounding area were entirely transformed. Not only was the area clean and looked like a real garden again, it appeared twice the size. Brian even returned to remove heavy ivy on a dogwood tree I had added to the scope of work. While the price for Brian's work is not cheap, it shouldn't be, he's a professional Master Gardener who knows what to save, what to tear out and how to prune properly. If you are just need brush clearance, look elsewhere. I plan to continue to use Brian.

AKingstowne Lawn & Landscape
They were fast to schedule me, and the gentlemen came out within a week, which was great. He was very easy to talk to, nice guy. We talked about all my various gardens and what I was hoping to get out of them over the coming years. I furnished pictures, and he gave me tips about what would work. He even helped me with a few questions I had around the property. I'n not an amateur gardener, though I'm far from a master gardener, and I did express what kinds of plants I was looking for, or wanted to avoid. The plan I got back though was pretty rudimentary that I was disappointed. It included some liriope (which I hate), and some other pretty basic plants. I felt it was missing any sort of "punch" to set the yard apart from a basic/blah looking garden. Overall: Good experience with the staff, disappointed by the output. And the cost for them to do the work seemed ridiculous to me, but that's probably going to be the case no matter what, since I would DIY it anyway.

ALove and Carrots
I have been struggling on my own to have a sustainable garden for more than 25 years now and I finally got some great help and support. All communication with the staff was very prompt and easy. I found a card advertising their services in spring/summer of 2012 and misplaced it. In September I came across a internet link and sent an email of interest. A consultation was scheduled within the week. I was really impressed with Meredith and decided to continue with the company. I have tried a lot of small vegetable planting and some gardening but have never felt comfortable learning things from books or master gardener programs. Since moving to this area I have been able to get rain barrels and compost piles and some small raised beds where I knew I had full sun, but I was struggling with wanting to get rid of a large area of grass and weeds, wanted paths and a real garden which didn't seem to be within my means without help. Meredith put together a large plan. I had no idea what to expect but was very happy with it. She was very flexible in modifying the plan for our needs. The installation was scheduled and coordinated with us moving a small shed. I was hanging around for most of the installation and thoroughly enjoyed it (hope I wasn't too much of a pain to the crew). The crew were all pleasant and hardworking. Love and Carrots offers garden coaching thankfully because now I have all kinds of beds of native plants, berries, and grapes. I am really looking forward to continue to have them work with me. I will be spending less time cutting the grass and more time producing food. I really didn't have so much work in mind but am really happy now that it will continue to give me a lot of pleasure. I think the company is unique and well worth considering for garden work.

AOld Tree Landscape & Design
We have used Jim and his crews for the past eight years for installation and maintenance of live plantings on our property. We plan to use them again this coming season. Jim is responsive, and listens carefully to any concerns we have since he and his crew were last on-site. As a Master Gardener, Jim makes recommendations, and presents alternatives for our approval. If Jim is not participating with his crew on-site all day, he at least shows up every day to monitor progress and check with us. Examples of the scope of work done: His crew provides spring clean-up and installation of new mulch in all of our mulch beds, they return during the growing season to weed the beds and re-shape shrubs as appropriate, they prepare our plantings and shrubs for winter, and perform winter/dormant pruning of shrubs and trees where appropriate. We highly recommend Jim and his crews.

AOld Tree Landscape & Design
Jim Scantlin is a competent professional who has provided outstanding landscape planning, completion, and maintenance services for my family at four homes over the last 20 years. We have been totally satisfied with every project and have recommended Old Tree to numerous friends who have given me very positive feedback and subsequently heartily endorse his company. I have even provided his name and number to several strangers who walked by, complemented me on the appearance of my property, ;and then asked who did the landscaping. Jim, a certified master gardener, knows exactly what to do to enhance the natural beauty of your property. He completed every project on time and within budget. He took care of every detail and his planted areas, paved patios, slate walkways, and natural rock additions were executed flawlessly. He also improved several project with the addition of creative accent lighting. He plans the work himself, completes it with his own crew, and personally supervises the entire project.

Wheat's clean up service put our garden in fresh form to allow us to attend to the neglected plantings and flower beds. We were so delighted with results and Wheat's accommodation of special requests, that we saw our garden with new eyes. After clean out--our garden was nominated for local garden of the year and we were inspired to put some effort into sprucing up. Our garden was one ot those chosen in the judging. Thanks to the hard work of Wheat's team.

Had a "special" offer for 4 hours of yard work. Oscar was responsive by phone and was able to schedule the work within the timeframe I needed. He and his crew arrived on time and completed the work in the specified time. Very professional and friendly. Would hire again.
