Recent Review: Went fine. Had to return and refinish because of bubbles forming the first time. Had no problems getting them to return.

Recent Review: Brooks and his son performed the work at our home, refinishing a tub with a surround and a shower stall with a seat. They spent the bulk of their time with the surface preparation which evidently was the most important part. They completely partitioned off the work area with plastic, being careful of our freshly painted walls and ceilings, used a special tape to ensure no more paint was removed than expected. The spread tarps around the work areas protecting our new carpets. They completely explained the process, over the phone and gave an estimate, which they kept to at the job completion. This was a two day project and in between days they cleaned the work space so we could still function in our home. They vented the work to avoid smelling up our house and worked very long days. They were punctual, courteous, efficient and very competent. The finished product is exceptionally attractive. We don't yet know how durable it will be, but with the very thorough preparation of the surface and the 5 year guarantee he offers, I expect it to do very well. I feel as if they treated my home with the same care they would treat their own. I tend to be picky and they worked up to my expectations. If they were annoyed with me, they did not let it show but were always the professionals I hired. We are very pleased with the work ethic and final product.

Recent Review: Fireplace project - was completed promptly, on budget and looked great. Bathroom - had a short delay starting the project as he was finishing up work on another project. Timeline given at start was accurate (3 weeks). Kurt mocked up a shower bench in two locations and then helped us come up with an alternate solution (foot niche for shaving) when we didn't like the bench placements. He was flexible and worked with us to set meeting times early morning or evenings, so we didn't have to miss work. He asked questions in advance (location of outlets, thermostats, lights, tile pattern) so that he could proceed smoothly. He cleaned up each day so that we were able to continue using the bedroom while work was in progress. We had ordered Italian tile online for the shower and it had the curvature that can happen with large format tiles. When he installed the initial 3 rows in the brick pattern we had requested, there was visible lippage. He took it all down and re-hung it in alternate pattern and was able to achieve a smooth look even though the tiles were warped. We had a light leakage under one of the sinks and he came back immediately and resolved that. Other than that, the project went flawlessly. It was without any drama. He did everything we requested - including using vintage door pulls. We are very happy with the new bathroom.

CAdvantage Handyman Services Inc
The job took longer than estimated and since Advantage Handyman charges by the hour/day - the job cost more than originally quoted.  Most of the time, we were not home when the work was being done and I got the feeling some days they didn't do much of anything - though we were changed the entire days' rate for their work.  The removal of the old fiberglass unit went fine - the initally fitting of the new tub was timely - and the initial work for the grout for the ceramic tile was also timely - then time seemed to stand still for these guys.  We have two big complaints. First, the tile job/grout is not quality work. From a distance it looks fine, but close up - just not that tidy and clear - grout lines are uneven, etc.  And the grout cracked soon after - though they were very prompt in sending someone out to fix that problem.  About five or six months after the job we discovered a leak - due to faulty instillation of the faucet (we believe the copper pipe was too short and hence the "O" ring did not have enough pipe to grab onto to make a good seal).  Finally after multiple phone calls to the owner (who by the way is very professional) - they sent a true plumber to fix the job - took him literally five minutes to complete the job!  Should have been done correctly the first time. I wouldn't use them for again for tile or plumbing.
