Recent Review: I had contacted Carroll Awning w/ plans for a retractable awning. My sales rep Joe Reymann was very attentive to my needs (I am a Senior Citizen). Due to an unexpected family situation I was not able to proceed. Joe was very pleasant and understanding. This Company obviously does CARE about their clients which is refreshing to see in today's world.

Recent Review: Very good customer service. The sales person, Bryan, explained all of our options, including giving us pricing on three different sizes, both with and without motors. He gave us pros and cons of roof mount vs. wall mount, as we had limited height on wall mount. We changed several choices, midstream, and everyone involved was very accommodating. People in the office, Cindy, Taylor and Harold, were most helpful in making our final decision. Everything went very well. I was very concerned that the wiring would show, and the installers did a very good job concealing it.
Recent Review: Price seemed a bit high (hard to do comparisons; few choices in market), but the service, delivery and installation were flawless and we love the product. They did exactly what they promised and on the schedule they agreed to. The two men who did the installation were very professional and obviously knew what they were doing; they were on site less than 2 hours. Cleanup was taken care of too. I'd recommend these guys to anyone... but maybe you can negotiate a lower price than I did.

.Good salesman who seemed knowledgeable about the products - came to our home - we ordered and put a deposit down on May 5, 2014. Now it is 8 and 1/2 weeks later and we still have nothing - no retractable awnings, no drop down screens. They have never called me - I have called them three times and the tale is always the same - incorrect parts arrived, fabric hasn't shipped, isn't the right material, it's a hard business to control, etc. They use the and quot;In Business since 1876and quot; slogan - apparently it takes that long to get the awnings!

Final job looked like the awning was built to be on our house, it added to the appearance of our house.

Please reference my previous review date May, 2014. Today is July 29, 2014 and the installation of my awning and drop downs is complete. Mr. Bigley and his installation team have worked very hard to get our work done in the summer heat, and we appreciate their effort. We chose this company because of the recommendations of several landscaping professionals with whom we have dealt. The quality of their products seemed quite superior to what we have seen on other homes. Although more expensive than the Sunsetter brand, we have a cleaner looking profile on the house and a much longer warranty period because of better quality fabrics and superior mechanical parts. Overall, I cannot ignore the fact that this was not the experience I expected in terms of timeliness and, more importantly, communications. I am raising my overall rating to a B with the expectation that any future transactions will be dealt with in an expeditious manner. I will keep you posted.

Installed an awning purchased through Lowes for $300 and also for my neighbor, who I referred him to, and he sold them a Sunsetter awning and installed as well. The first awning from Lowes ended up being defective and had to be returned two weeks later after being installed by RBI. Hired them to come back, take it down to replace the defective awning with the replacement - paid them another $300 + $60 for materials due to a different type of bracketing system for an upgraded version of the awning. Actually RBI did a nice job of installing on both installations. However during the second installation it was determined that on the end caps was damaged in shipment as was a piece of plastic protective trim. Also, awning manufacturer failed to send to proper instructions for manual retracting device, so it was agreed that Ryan would return upon receipt of those items from the manufacturer to install these parts. After receiving word from Lowes that the damaged awning replacement parts were on the way Ryan at RBI was notified; about a day or two after texting him I got back a text that he was out of town and he would TRY to contact me the following week to schedule a time to come by. The following week came and went with no contact so I emailed again and a couple of days later he wrote back he was extremely busy and would get to me when he could. That was about two weeks ago. A few days ago I again emailed RBI, twice last week, to see if we could at least get on their schedule - ZERO RESPONSE TO BOTH EMAILS AND A TEXT - so while he did a good job and the awning being defective is not his issue, he was paid for his time at his standard rates both times and this return visit was also to be billed at his standard rate, of which Lowes is partially reimbursing me - however best I can tell is RBI is either not interested in coming back for a small job (estimate would be a couple of hours for these fixes) at a time and date of his choosing OR perhaps he just has poor communications skills - not sure which but when a contractor fails to at least make an effort to get me on his schedule after nearly a month of back and forth (and ultimately ignoring us) then it's time to move on. While Ryan and RBI does competent work, it's negated by ignoring a past customer and not returning their calls or messages after PROMISING to do so. RBI seems to be interested in only larger jobs, in the moment, and not referrals or future jobs - VERY SHORT SIGHTED because big jobs often come from little jobs and referrals. We like Ryan, he is very friendly and pleasant but I don't think he understands "relationships" and business building. We had hoped to use them to finish our basement and add a screened in porch. Not now. We even posted him on our community network as a recommended contractor however I decided to remove him due to his poor communications skills, something I cannot tolerate.

Estimator showed up as scheduled. He was very pleasant and his estimate was acceptable. When the installers came, they recognized the awning should be mounted from overhead instead of from the wall, so a different mount had to be ordered. This delayed the installation by a week, but it was done on time, quickly and professionally. Everything works as it should. The wind sensor was included free of charge. The estimator did a good job of helping us to pick the awning pattern. We are very happy with the result and only regret we did not do this years ago. I recommend this company for awning installation.

Rob Montgomery came to the house for the initial estimate and brought samples for the awning we were looking to purchase. He was very knowledgeable about the different manufacturers and their track records for quality and service. We sent him a photo of the patio before he came and he brought samples to provide some excellent color and style options. He also gave us honest feedback on some of the options, including lighting and wind sensors. The installation was professionally done by Ron Montgomery and we are extremely pleased with the look and functionality of the final product, which covered a large part of our concrete patio that is exposed to direct sunlight about 10 hours a day in the summer. The shade provided by the awning makes the patio much more usable and is very attractive. The whole process for the custom awning was about 3 1/2 weeks from estimate to installation.

I have a retail business and was recently in need of an awning. We had used Taylor Bigley in the past (about 7 years ago) so we called him to get a quote for our new store. I was impressed to learn that they had expanded their operation which gave them the ability to not only weld their own frames but also stitch the custom canvas. As expected the quality of service, communication and end result was better than expected. I highly recommend Awnings by Bigley!

Ryan was friendly and professional during the entire process. There was no "high pressure" during the initial sales meeting and he was very knowledgeable about the products and the constrictions of my HOA. Due to a conflict in timing with the building of my deck, I had to reschedule the installation of the awning. Ryan was more than willing to work around this problem. The work was completed in one day and the results are beautiful! As a new transfer resident from the North, I am very impressed with this "Southern gentleman" and his company. I have recommended them to my neighbors.
