Recent Review: Scott and his team at Solid Structures are extremely professional and do great work. They recently completed a minor repair for me, swapping out a corroded fire pit starter switch and ignition wire. Prior to this he completed a fairly large project for me, building me a brand new deck with screened in gazebo and a concrete patio along with a custom gas fire pit. During that job, Scott worked with me to come up with a great design. His team cleaned up after themselves every day and never left my yard messy during construction. The finished product turned out great, and I would definitely recommend Solid Structures to anyone looking for honest and quality work.

Recent Review: I just purchased a new property in Portsmouth. It needed a new fence to shield the backyard from the street. Billy was there for me the very next day. this is the third time I've called him to put up a fence on one of my properties. He is fast, cheerful, and always does a great job. He also replaced the damaged steps and railings on the back porch and replaced the front porch railings.  I will be calling him again the next time I have fencing or deck building needs.

ADenver Deck Builders
Dan, Jim and Steven were professional, clean, respectful and we LOVE our new deck. Before we went with Denver Deck Builders, we did our due diligence. We called three other contractors, explained what we wanted and received three quotes. Some were lower than the other's (using the same materials) but, two were not licensed or insured and did not want to go through the permitting routine. Tyler, CEO of Denver Deck Builders was professional all the way through. We were given a drawing of our deck, certified by an architect and the building permit before the crew started. The entire project, with the snow and blizzard conditions, took about 10 days. We LOVE our new deck. Doug and I highly recommend Denver Deck Builders if you are looking for quality work.

AMETRO WOOD WORKS INC
Steve and Shane built us a 20' X 34' Trex deck with black aluminum railings and two sets of stairs. Construction took a little more than a week including the demolition and removal of our original wood deck, new concrete footers and framing. Trex is not inexpensive, However, it looks great, should require little or no maintenance and, there are no splinters! We're very satisfied with the deck and would hire Metro Wood Works again.

AOutback Construction
Because we knew this would be expensive, we wanted it done exactly right so we wouldn't omit something that we would later regret not having.  Craig (co-owner and salesman) quickly grasped what we generally wanted and offered suggestions as to what could be done to add both functionality and beauty as well as alternatives that could keep the cost down.  He also offered us decking from several companies. (We went with Fiberon instead of Trex which is the product most people are familiar with.)  He was able to walk us through the planning, explaining things like building code requirements.  He took care of getting the required permits, including a wetlands related zoning approval that we needed due to a nearby tidal creek.  The work started as scheduled and noticeable progress was made each day. The team was professional and respectful.  They were punctual, worked hard all day and never left a mess.  Craig kept us informed of progress, especially when weather caused delays.  The deck turned out beautifully, even better than we had imagined. Best overall experience I have had with a contractor.  We have already recommended them to friends and will definitely do so again.

ADecked Out Builders
Glenn was very accommodating in designing our new deck- worked the design around existing landscaping to maximize size and functionality. His crew lead Eric is a real craftsman. Their attention to detail is remarkable. No corners were cut and we’d definitely refer and rehire again. The finished deck and rebuild of our upstairs Master Bedroom balcony is beautiful. Decked Out Builders exceeded our expectations!

ADSD Landscaping
The project turned out beautifully! He wasn't the cheapest but was quite meticulous; very detail orientated. We have rounded steps as opposed to flat which can be more difficult to work with. He had about 5 helpers to work efficiently. We had rain stall the project but as soon as they were able, they were back to work. I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

ADecked Out Builders
After receiving three estimates I contracted with Glen Stagg, Decked Out to tear out an existing pressure treated wood deck and replace it with an ?Azek? cellular PVC deck.  While Decked Out was not the lowest, their estimate in my opinion offered the best value in materials and workmanship.  The work was started on the date as promised and completed over a couple of days on schedule.   The two man crew that performed the work was highly skilled, showed up early each morning and worked steadily throughout both days. They were polite, courteous and cleaned up after each day.  After the deck was completed there was a minor aesthetic detail that my wife and I wanted changed.  Glenn had his crew come back and complete everything to our satisfaction at minimal expense to us.  Overall we could not have been more pleased.  The finished product looks great, both in material and craftsmanship.

ADECKS BY DEREK
We initially were not sure whether to use regular presure treated wood, premium wood or composites for the new deck. Derek was very helpful by giving us estimates for all three and he readily agreed to a second trip to the site for further discussions. After reaching a decision, the job was started on time and completed in less than a week. We are very pleased with the results.

AArchadeck of Virginia Beach/Norfolk
First of all, we were impressed that the builders were able to start a few day ahead of schedule. We had a start date of Oct. 13, but Jim called to say they could begin Oct. 8 if that worked for us. The project was completed in five days. Jim kept us updated with the progress and was always prompt with answering questions. He and his crew are very professional  and neat. We have several plants that we did not want damaged which are right in the work area of the deck. They carefully tied them and protected them with stakes. We appreciate that kind of care and detail. We are very happy with our new deck and are already using it to entertain. My dad is a retired building contractor, and a 'detail man' and he commented on the fine job. We highly recommend Archadeck!

ACASA DECKS
This was single-handedly the best experience that I have had with a service provider since moving to this area over two years ago. The owner, George, is one of the most honest businessmen who I have ever dealt with. He came to our house to prepare an estimate only a few days after I contacted him. Immediately, upon his arrival, he introduced himself, showed me a copy of his license, and gave me a short but informative packet about his company. Then, he took one look at my existing deck and said he could not, in good conscience, install a replacement deck. Needless to say, I was shocked by his comments and asked him to explain. He told me a deck should have never been built in my backyard in the first place because there simply is not enough clearance to ensure the deck has sufficient airflow to prevent mold and rot. Additionally, he told me a new deck would cause significant drainage problems due to my house being on a slab with insufficient space for water to properly run-off. His comments resonated with me because existing drainage problems in my backyard are one of the main reasons why I am looking to replace the deck. George recommended that I consider replacing the deck with either pavers or stamped concrete. He then spent about 15 minutes discussing the pros and cons of each. Please keep in mind - his company does not provide either of these services. So yes, a man who sells decks for a living spent his valuable time with me going over other options that were much more suitable for my yard. Amazing. Ultimately, he provided me with a recommendation for a paver company that he routinely works with. George's honesty and integrity were refreshing at a time when I feel most (but not all) service providers are trying in one manner or another to take advantage of me. In fact, I had one deck company (which will rename nameless) try to sell me an $10k replacement deck, which is just criminal. Even though I did not use their services, my experience with Casa Decks was absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend them.
