Recent Review: I can't say enough good things about Resident Handyman. From initial contact to completion of the job, the whole process was smooth. Bob was extremely responsive and when he came out for the estimate, he was knowledgable and professional. He also found the needed materials for a lower cost than he originally estimated and he finished the job faster too. The finished product looked great. I'm looking forward to working with Bob again.

Recent Review: Two guys arrived 13 minutes late -- outside the 45 minute window in which I was expecting them.  They went right to work, putting the new safety hardware in the shower.  They laid down drop cloths on the bedroom rug and in the shower and vacuumed up after the work was done.  The supervisor had to go to a hardware store to get brackets for the stair rail (miscommunication between me and the owner on what I needed).  While one guy worked on repairing the nose board on the stairs and installing new weather stripping around the door from the house to the garage, the supervisor installed the second handrail on the stairs.  They vacuumed the stairs when the installation was complete. They provided the handrail (stained to match our needs), the brackets for the handrail, the safety bars for the shower and the weather stripping for the door.  In addition, they measured the stair handrail that had been installed by the builder in case we want to change it to match.  The builder had installed a handrail made of poplar.  The stairs and the new handrail are made of oak.

Recent Review: From initial estimate to work completion, my experience with Ryan and Resurrection Builders was by far one of the best interactions I've had with a contractor in some time. Ryan and his team replaced the wood rails and posts on my 32'x5.5' front porch with vinyl rails/posts. In addition, they replaced a rotting deck board, all three wooden steps leading to front porch and lined the ceiling with vinyl paneling. Of the numerous estimates I received from local contractors, Ryan was the only contractor to cite coding requirements when recommending the new stair boards. The other contractors suggested replacing the existing stair boards with normal deck boards which would have been out of code. The team was punctual, professional and did outstanding work. I was most impressed with their clean-up of all materials and waste (it's as if they were never there). Though their estimate was slightly higher than the other two estimates I received, I'm glad I went with Resurrection Builders. Their workmanship and attention to detail were well worth it. I will use Resurrection Builders again when the time comes to refurbish my deck in the backyard.

AHatt's Handyman Services
I called owner/operator John for an estimate on gutter cleaning, minor shingle repair, and some woodwork on our front porch which had some rotted wood on one post. John came out about a week later to give me an estimate, which was way cheaper than I was expecting. He was a little quirky and eccentric so I had my doubts at first. But I had called another bigger handyman service, and they wanted to charge me way more on an hourly basis instead of on a "job to job" basis, so I hired John and he fit me in the next week. There were a couple of reschedules on his part, but it was ok as the price was so good and I wasn't in a big hurry. When he did come out, he did a fantastic and quick job, even fixed my shingles for free. He was courteous and very friendly towards my baby - he loves kids. I would hire him again in a minute!

We recently sold our house and needed some repairs done quickly per the Home Inspection. Steve called us back within a day or two, and was able to come out within a week to make all the repairs. He was on-time, professional, worked quickly, and got everything done per the specifications. We will definitely keep his number handy after we move.

APrestige Deck & Fence
Jeff came out (in pouring rain) in late June to take measurments, photos, and to offer options to replace 10 year old wooden railings and level up the landing of the stairs for the deck. Prestige then sent estimate to perform work two different ways. We chose the higher priced option because it replaced all the wood except 4x4 supports and existing Trex decking. There will be no future need to paint or stain. Proposal indicated work would begin around August 8. A few days prior Alex called to ask if they could begin work a bit earlier. Workers arrived on schedule and took out old wood railing and righted the landing and begain installation of new railings. Work continued for the next two days. Ryan and Tony took great care to ensure that the new railings were installed precisely. They even were courteous enough to place cardboard under the engine of their truck parked in our driveway. The third day a third worker joined the team (didn't get his name). All in all, we were very satisfied with the work and would recommend this firm.

AResurrection Builders, Inc.
The project went very well. Ryan showed up on schedule and the project was wrapped up by the afternoon. The quality of the materials and the work was great. I could not be more pleased with the new railing. I would definitely recommend Resurrection Builders if you need deck or other construction work done in the Fredericksburg Virginia area. Resurrection Builders is not the least or most expensive choice in the area, but they do quality work. It is a small company that does not use subcontractors so they can be flexible to meet your project needs for a small project like my porch railings or a huge deck you want to build. One of their advantages of Resurrection Builders is that they will take on small jobs like mine if you are willing to work with them on the schedule for the project to fit it in. Earlier in the year I had another local builder with great ratings on Angie's List build a covered deck and patio for me. They did a great job too, but they were not very interested in my small porch railing project so I went with Resurrection Builders instead. I am very pleased with the result and will likely use Resurrection Builders for any future projects instead of the other company even though the other company did great work too.
