Recent Review: I hired Miguel Amaya for three jobs. It was a company called MD Construction when I first contact them and then convert to M Amaya Construction when the job was done. I should the first customer of this new company name. During the work, I was able to discuss with Miguel over details and all three jobs were done nicely. I plan to follow up on the result in the next few years.

Recent Review: After we laid out the location and orientation of the structure, Mr. Romano proceeded to have the site excavated, formed and poured the footer.  He then formed and poured the basement walls, 8 inch reinforced concrete.  After that he poured the basement floor, and the floor between the basement and the main floor.  Then he formed the walls (6 inch Reenforced concrete) for the upper level.  The truses were put in place and the roof decked.  The rest was basically finishing.     During the whole project if he was not satisfied with the result, he did it over.  The trim work was outstanding, the window installation is tight.  We put in air to air heat exchangers because the house is so tight.  You will not find a draft of outside air any where in the house.     We have lived in the house for almost 7 years without any issue.  If I could control it, I would never build a house without using Insulated Concrete Forms.  I without hesitation recommend Mr. Romano for any residential construction task.

AS & H Construction Co
We redid a wall and fix the wall. They actually build a patio on the front and the back. Porch on the front. They redid a roof on the back and they have been great.

Excellent! Professional. True to his word. He is professional in all facets of his work. I would highly recommend. He kept the work area clean. He made sure the window and walls around were clean when he finished. He is polite and fun to work with.

AJohn D Kinsley Contractor
Mr. Kinsley returned my call promptly. As we spoke, he volunteered the fact that he was booked solid for the next six to eight weeks. I can only say what a breath of fresh air it is to have a contractor be up front about his schedule knowing he most liely will not get the job (he did not get the job because I had to have it done sooner). So many tell you they can start a job in the immediate future and they do. They bring some of their materials and/ or tools and leave them on the job site, and hence, they have started the job. This contractor's honesty alone will insure that I will call upon him in the future. Also, the fact that he is booked so far in advance speaks for itself as well. William Campbell

AMIGHTY OAK CONTRACTORS
Mattioli is difficult to schedule because he is in high demand. But once he is scheduled, he comes through just as promised. He starts his long days early, and keeps the worksite as neat and orderly as possible. He is very competent with regard to issues related to building code, drainage and structural soundness. Most importantly he has a fabulous eye for color, shape, detail. He very carefully selects the stone he uses not just to match, but to complement existing structures and shapes.

They do AWESOME work, very reliable. If they have any drawbacks, it is that they stay so busy, but they always try to accommodate as quickly as possible weather permitting.

ASOUTHERN LANDSCAPE GROUP, INC
We recently had a landscaping project completed by Southern Landscaping. We were struck by their professionalism. They left daily, written updates. Each member of the team was very helpful and explained every step of the process. They were very neat and clean, leaving no trash or debris. Everyone has commented on how beautifully they did our landscaping and hardscaping. They were able to work within our budget and stayed exactly on track, with no surprise expenses. The only reason I listed a B for price is that landscaping, any landscaping, is expensive. Southern Landscaping was the only company that worked with our budget, offering cost saving ideas and also mentioning areas we should not skimp on. It was well worth the cost. We highly recommend Southern Landscaping. Our project was relatively small, but included a retaining wall, paver walk and regrading/seeding our yard and they still treated us like we were the only customer they had.

FWilco Construction
Do not engage this contractor!  He abandoned the project half-finished when we questioned the quality of his work, leaving us without a working bathroom or kitchen in our house. He did not finish ANY of the projects. Here are some of the most agregious examples: (1)  Didn't properly prep sheet rock with primer before painting; (2) Sanded the floors by hand instead of renting the appropriate equipment - unsurprisingly, there are now uneven boards that still show notches; (3)  Didn't match the varnish correctly with the existing hardwood floors - now we have two colors; (3)  Moldings in the bathrooms did not meet properly in the corners, and were filled with caulk rather than being properly cut; (4)  Instead of taping the corner joints of sheet rock, he used wood molding.  The painting was also pretty abysmal.  If we just wanted to slap paint on the walls, we would do it ourselves.  We hired a contract to sand and smooth out the walls, paint the trim evenly, etc. Also, the painting was done after the floors were finished, and voila - now there are paint stains on the floors. And to top it all off, he left us with a bunch of trash and debris littered throughout the house - we now have to hire a dumpster to cart it away.

AJTF Renewable Design & Build
The owner, Jason Fails, was delightful to work with and spent a lot of time with us planning how to accomplish what we wanted. He wrote a detailed estimate for the base job and we agreed that I would add things (like the more extensive lighting) as we went along. He was very patient with me as the project came together and I was deciding what types of fixtures I wanted. He was also agreeable when I became particular about some of the fixtures and ordered them myself online. There were a few delays, but nothing that would count as real problems, and he was great about keeping in touch so that we knew what would happen and when. We had one subcontractor whose work we weren't happy with, and Jason stood behind us and got it taken care of. Jason was especially good in advising us on energy efficiency with our lights. Following his advice, we installed 12 LED lights flush in the ceiling and 4 CFLs in sconces on the walls. With all lights on and the room very bright, we use about 140 watts. In our usual comfortable configuration of partial LEDs dimmed, we use about 30 watts. In the end, we are very happy with the job he did, we love our new living room, and we would definitely hire him again.
