Recent Review: Master Bath - I hired Greg to come in and finish the master bath, I had another company come in and tear out old drywall and replace it but I wish I had found Greg before then and had him do that as well. He tiled my floor and fabricated a "built-in" cabinet that in the end looked as if it were a part of the original structure of the house. He built the cabinet with open shelves above and three drawers on the bottom. He also tiled the entire bathroom, installed a new toilet and a new shower door. What made me decide Greg was outstanding is the fact that he hired a subcontractor to do the tiling but was so upset with how it turned out he practically tore out all that tile and reinstalled it himself. Laundry Room - After he completed the master bath my wife and I immediately decided that we would hire him to remodel out laundry room (which is now my wife's favorite room in the house). He tore out the old linoleum and tiled the floor, repaired a wall that had a substandard repair from years before and custom built a cabinet that could hold our laundry baskets with storage below for large blankets and topped it off with a countertop that is used for folding clothes. He also tore out some old storage cabinets, replaced them with new ones, added shelving and clothes hanging rods. We have already informed him we want him to come back in the spring and remodel the kitchen. He is very prompt, courteous, professional and extremely trustworthy.

Recent Review: Poor project management, communication, and quality and unskilled laborers. On the job for 10 weeks (2.5 months) and job was still incomplete with no hard plan on completion. My husband and I had to cool down a bit before writing and posting this review so I apologize to those that may have in between signed a contract; be prepared for lots of excuses and disappointment. Also, this is still unresolved due to the fact that Dave will not settle with us for undone work so we will most likely have to proceed to some form of formal litigation to close out an incomplete contractual agreement. Dave Staub sold us on great expectations. He made promises of a timely project, high quality workmanship, and high levels of communication; as you can tell from the intro this was the exact opposite from what we received. Also affordable perhaps is the wrong name as he was more expensive than other quotes we received but because of the guarantees we decided to spend the extra money. I could go on and on for about four to five pages (I know this because I have a detailed formal statement written up) but I will try to be short and hit the key points. Two weeks into the project we had a meeting with him regarding our concerns of his absence on job site, no communication, workmanship, and with progress being made. He explained that he was having growing pains and that he would work to fix the issue. I reminded him that he had told us the project should take approximately four weeks to complete as it was not a complete bathroom remodel but repairing water damaged areas. During our discussion he also indicated they were waiting until the point of need to order the supplies and materials. I articulated that I thought that was bad business practices (poor project management) and that would be the cause of delays; I asked him to get the supplies in advance due to the fact that he had already received 95% of the money for the job. In addition, I had provided all selections tile, paint color, grout, etc. so all they had to do was hit order.  There were several phone calls and text messages between Dwight, Dave and us regarding the same subjects timeliness, progress, workmanship and all we received were continued excuses and promises that were not kept. With no end in sight (detailed plan to complete the project) at the 9 week mark my husband and I decided we had enough. We felt we gave ample opportunity but no true action was being done to complete the job. We gave them a hard deadline to finish in that final week (10th week) and told him that any unfinished work would have to be further discussed. Obviously it was not important for them to finish the job because he only sent one capable worker to our house and the gentleman showed up about 10 am daily and left at exactly 3:50 pm not staying a minute later. I gave them a two page list of undone work and when they departed that final day there was still a two page list of undone work. This was because they spent a great deal of time trying to fix dry wall work that was done improperly and is still not to standard. We had a final phone call with Dave because neither he nor Dwight cared enough came to our house on that final day to make any observations or to sit down and have a professional conversation. We even considered giving them a few more days to finish the job if they had a plan and in our phone conversation Dave could still not provide a hard plan specifically an installation date of our frameless shower door because this was something they had to outsource. That weekend I spent about 4 hours taking pictures and documenting the undone work so I could send it to Dave (because he debated with me over the phone that it was only a few small items in addition to the shower door) to resolve the open contract. To date he has not responded to the photos, letters, or proposed settlement. We are not trying to be unfair we are being as fair as possible with our proposal so that we can fully use our bathroom again. In conclusion, 12 weeks and still without a fully functional bathroom and having to proceed in a formal manner to receive a response. Bottomline: Save yourself the time, money, and trouble; Find another contractor to do the work!

Recent Review: They took an outdated space and created a spa-like oasis. They removed a closet to give us a beautiful tiled shower and we added a tower between our two new vanities. Val added several thoughtful touches, including installation of an outlet in the back of our vanity cabinet for my hair dryer. He actually has an eye for design and helped with that aspect as well. He made suggestions that I would not have considered and helped us design the bathroom we wanted, but didn’t quite know how to create ourselves. I would absolutely recommend Irish Accents. Everyone was professional and friendly. I felt comfortable with them in my home, even when I was not there. The result was a brand new bathroom in nearly every way, and we love it! I have included before and after photos.

Review for Glen Allen Master Bathroom Remodeling

CAll-N-1 Services Inc
Worst Experience Ever.I contracted with the company to do a complete remodel of my master bathroom and powder room. In the master bathroom, they were to remove the tub, install a tiled shower in its place, tile floor, new vanity, vent fan, install fixtures, plumbing etc. I supplied all materials for the job. I have never been involved in such a remodeling disaster before and this is not my first major remodeling. I did due diligence, searched Angie's List (2018 superstar?) and got a reference for a similar job. I signed the contract and things went downhill from there. Slated to start 5/6/2019, picked out vanity and made arrangements to visit counter top fabricator for selection in March. All material selected and ordered timely although questions regarding quantity of tile and other items had to be made repeatedly before a response was received. I spent time coordinating everything to the cabinets when they showed up with the wrong cabinet. Turns out the cabinets I had ordered (two different finishes) were no longer available and I would have to select another color. Delay. And these vanities do not have as durable a finish on them. They pulled the old bathtub out and; it sat like a rusting hulk in my driveway for 3 weeks preventing us from parking in the driveway. We asked about it and were told that a pick up would be scheduled. The only thing that happened was after 3 weeks, my husband and I broke up the cast iron tub into pieces small enough to put in the dumpster. At least I could park close enough to get the groceries in the house. The shower pan they ordered was the wrong size. I lost some space there as they tore out the wall board and built out the space to match the shower pan they ordered. They grossly over-estimated how much tile was necessary and delayed work for so long I missed the ability to return any of it. I had enough floor tile left to re-tile another room. The workers only come sporadically - the estimated completion was 6/10/19. Completion did not occur until August 13. The shower leaked, it took them two weeks to fix. The grout in the shower floor did not set properly, over two weeks to come back. I got an email saying go ahead and use the shower it won't hurt anything. Except every time you ran water in the shower bits of grout floated down the drain. They tried to fix by putting caulk in the lines (the shower floor had 3 different grout colors) but I found that unacceptable. They were scheduled to come on August 8, but did not show until the following week. Never received communication, in fact they were frequently scheduled to show but didn't....again no one thinks to notify the homeowner. At various times, I completed their incomplete work just to get it done. Painting not completed (door trim, linen closet shelves), they assembled the cabinets in my dining room floor with glue, hammer, nails and no drop cloth on my antique oriental rug. My son and I spent a year renovating his house and use multiple contractors from Angie's list to complete the work. I've left a number of stellar reviews for those vendors as their work and professionalism were high. This contractor, however, despite their rating was a disaster.

AIrish Accents & Renovations
Hey Angie's List,  I would highly recommend Irish Accents and Renovations.  This was for a full renovation job for an investment property i have in VA Beach VA.  The quality of the work performed was excellent and the estimates were in the ball park of what the actual cost was.  There were a variety of jobs performed that included, demolition, interior painting, full bathroom remodel, and installed new carpet.  Also the communication was fantastic.  If there were adjustments and additional costs Val with Irish Accents would text me for the approval along with his recommendations.  GOT TO LOVE A CONTRACTOR THAT COMMUNICATES... ADW Taylor Construction
It was a great pleasure working with Donnie, the owner, on my recent renovation project. He was quick to grasp my design ideas and come up with a proposal that offered me great value. While we ultimately went over budget (approx. 10%) the upgrades were well worth it. His crew worked diligently and was very considered throughout the process. On a nightly basis they cleaned up after themselves and ensured that the place was safe and livable for a family with small kids and a dog. I was provided frequent updates on the project and I would be consulted on design ideas that were suitable for our house. The project did take longer than expected but I'd take high quality over rushed work any time. Donnie was super flexible on changes to the design which were all minor but frequent. We had a couple of misunderstandings and Donnie didn't hesitate to make sure that I was totally satisfied with the end result. While I am done renovating my current house I would not hesitate hiring him for future project - should any arise. I would without hesitation recommend him for renovation projects.

AZero Punch-List LLC
Zero Punch List did an excellent job. In the bathroom remodel they removed the formed tub insert and old tile flooring replacing it with a new tub, tiling the walls around the tub and putting in a new tile floor. In the sun room there was indoor/outdoor carpet over a wooden decking. They removed the old carpet and installed a sub flooring before carpet was laid by another company. This and other work they performed earlier turned this room into our favorite place to relax, eat dinner and watch television. They installed a skylight upstairs in a room without any windows providing much  needed light. They also installed a closet in the same room doing an excellent job to make the closet look like it was originally part of the room. Lastly they worked on the sheet rock in another bathroom where it was obvious it had not been installed properly when the house was built. Too many cracks kept coming back after I tried to repair the walls. Their work is top notch. They clean up after themselves the end of each day. If you have questions you will get a knowledge and professional response. I would definitely use them again.

ACABINETRY & CONSTRUCTION, INC.
The project went very well. Rob and his crew are wonderful to work with. Rob presented us with some excellent cost effective alternatives for accomplishing the renovation. The bathroom was a very tight space but is much more useable now. Project was completed quickly and they were very good at cleaning up after themselves. This was a small project which we viewed as a pilot project for a major renovation currently underway. We liked the work enough to award the other contract to Cabinetry and Construction.
