Recent Review: It was a great experience, very professionally done from start to finish. They were awarded the job out of 6 bids, not the lowest in price, but certainly were responsive to my needs. In this case I got what I paid for, and the job is stunning really, from the way it looked before. I have a mansard roof, so it was a lot of hard work. Their attention to detail was impressive. It rained hard just as they were completing the job and the roof did not leak at all. In addition, I have a good warranty with Sentry. I used Angie's list throughout the process and it was very helpful.

Recent Review: Reasonably priced and quality work. They had the old shingles stripped off, the roof vent installed and new shingles and gutter guards installed and everything cleaned up in approx 6 1/2 hours.

Recent Review: Mr gray was very responsive on the estimate and was very reasonable on price. He does require 1/2 payment on signing or 5 days before work begins. The job had more damage than he thought but he only  charged for the the extra plywood and boards. The job was to take 1 and 1/2 days but it took 3 days because of the extra damage. It was also 100 degrees when they were working . They(2 of them) did an excellent job of repairing all the damage(I was there most of the time) and installing the new shingles(timberline 50 year). He is a contractor with not a lot of overhead (I think), but a lot of experience and a good work ethic. He does have all the equipment and tools to do any job. I would very highly recommend him and i will have him replace another roof this fall.

Recent Review: I used Quinn's Home Improvement. The work they did was poor. I had a number of leaks and they had to come back 3 or 4 times to fix somethings that were not properly done. We had a leak around our chimney that was real bad. I thought the guy was top notch at the time but, it turns out some of the people he hired to do the work just did a poor job. I would rate him very poor. The pricing was about average. They did come back.

Recent Review: The owner of the company,Justin Enquist, is excellent to work with. My ideas of quality work and his were both the same. He personally went to the roof shingle supplier to get a half dozen samples of shingles to match our house shingles, which are no  longer being made. The building sub contracters that he hired to do the framing and roof were very good as well as the cement sub contractors who did the cement floor slab work. There was a fair bit of trouble getting a brick layer to build brick bases around the bottom of the six support posts. A brickwork sub contractor was finally engaged to do work after a couple of weeks time. The bricks and mortar that were used however did not match the brickwork of our house.    I had to contact a contractor who specialized in Brick Tinting to correctly match the brick color to the house and I acid bleached the mortar myself. The brick tinting was quite expensive. I contacted Mr. Enquist and told him about the brick tinting cost and he was agreeable to a final payment adjustment to cover the cost.

Project was only a 900 sq foot garage. They promised work would be done in 2 to 3 weeks. It was 6 weeks before started and 7 weeks before compleyed. The estimator promised plywood but sent OSB and he ordered the wrong color shingles. Company was only pro active to give quote and ask for payment. I had to press the issue to get materials delivered and work scheduled. After I told them it was taking too long to get started and that I did not want their service anymore they pulled a roofer off of a bigger job. He left his crew on the big job and came with just himself and his girlfriend. It took 4 days of working only a few hours each day and then a week to come back and try to correct trimming the edges. Completed work was sub standard, roof edge trimmings are still uneven on all 4 sides and and not straight line cuts even after roofer returned to fix. When I sent pictures of the poor work to go the estimator he did not see the problem, I had to really explain what was wrong. Twice I sent an email to CEO Mr Fritz but he has still not given me the courtisey of a reply to address my concerns.

I contacted Eric based on the numerous positive reviews on Angie's List.  He responded to my phone call immediately and, after describing my roofing repair needs based on recent storm damage, arranged to come to my home the next day.  Upon arrival, he assessed what would be required to repair the damage and gave me an estimate below what he initially indicated by phone would be the minimum price he would normally charge for roof repairs.  He was very professional and knowlegable about the repairs needed.  The final repair was done to my satisfaction and I would highly recommend him for all roofing needs.

Eric arrived at our house within the agreed to time frame and promptly surveyed the roof for damage. He then briefed us on the extent of the damage and how he intended to repair it as well as the cost. Eric provided the shingles and replaced the missing shingles at a fair price. He was very knowledgeable about roofing products and their proper installation. He was courteous and professional and I'll use him again for any roof repairs.

FQuinn's Home Improvement
The work started by Quinn's Inc. at my home was very unprofessional. While replacing some plywood and the roof shingles they damaged the heat pump unit in the attic. The owner, Quinn Hershberger, suggested that it was not his crew but someone else who did the damage. He did eventually deduct the cost of repair from my bill. When replacing some of the exterior wood trim they used scrap wood that was splintered and tried to repair it with caulking. They replaced my gutters and downspouts improperly. The downspouts are 4" in diameter but they cut 2" holes in the gutters. Also, the gutters are not secure in a couple of locations and they sag in the middle which does not allow for proper water flow. They also left roofing nails and sheet metal screws in my yard and driveway which lead to a punctured truck and lawnmower tire. With numerous legal issues pending against this company I strongly discourage anyone from considering their services.

CHOLLAND'S GENERAL CONTRACTOR
Holland Construction was recommended to us by the insurance adjustor (a red flag should have gone up then!).   The company agreed to complete the work according to the insurance adjusters estimate, and the work was completed in a timely manner.  The inspectors for the bank signed  off without delay, and then the fun began!  Our mortgage company  requested we send them the checks to endorse, and they would in turn release the funds when they received certain paperwork from the construction company and the OK from the inspector, along with our sign off that the work was completed to our satisfaction.  The woman we were dealing with at the Holland office was rude and highly unprofessional.   The paperwork was not submitted until after several calls back and forth and complaints that this was not the usual way they did business (although they claimed to have worked with insurance claims before)  The paperwork was finally submitted, but they altered the contract  that we had signed off on with handwritten information and submitted it without our approval.  They were discrepancies in the paperwork, and not all was submitted initially, so the bank withheld the check.  We received several phone calls from Holland, at first just asking, then complaining, and finally threatening to refer our bill to a collection agency.   It was discovered that the delay was mainly due to a missing form that Holland was supposed to send, and then due to the bank not listing the document as received.  An extremely long conversation with the bank reviewing all the documentation led to the discovery that they had received the paper a week earlier.  When speaking to different people in the office, we were given different information and instructions, which made it that much more complicated. While reviewing the paperwork, it was discovered that Holland was claiming money for a broken window that they repaired, but the window had been repaired and paid for by us before they ever started working.  When we brought it to their attention, the woman in the office at first refused to acknowledge that this was true.   Then she complained that it was written into the contract that they would receive the amount that the adjustor listed in the itemized description of work to be completed.  (This was the contract that they altered before forwarding a copy to the bank-there was no amount on it when it was signed by us.) They finally agreed to refund the money to us after we presented the check in its entirety. We requested a detailed copy of the work completed for our records, and were told that they didn't have to provide it because it was already listed on the insurance report.  What they finally sent, after much complaining, actually had a lower dollar amount than what we paid, which I brought to the attention of the insurance company.  While I am not an expert, I have not had cause  to say that the work was not done properly.  We had no quarrels with the workmen or the construction part of the project, but the people who work in their office were rude, disrespectful and argumentative at every turn. to both  my husband and myself.  Even when apologizing for a mistake on their part, the woman was sarcastic and made attempts to justify the mistake.  I inadvertently discovered that the office was a branch of  a larger company and wanted to write a letter of complaint, but I was not able to find out the name of that company.  .

Eric Gray called the day before to let me know that he had surveyed the work to be done and had the dumpster delivered.  On the day that work was to begin, he arrived on time and worked until dark - removing two layers of old roofing and repairing broken boards on the roof.  Work continued for several days, and with the help of several helpers the new shingles were installed and the new roof was soon completed.  Mr. Gray is very professional, and it is very apparent that he cares very much about doing an excellent job.  I love my new roof!
