Recent Review: Working with Twin Air LLC was refreshing after dealing with a less reputable and incompetent geothermal distributor.  Their customer service is top notch - they will call or email you back in a timely manner.  Josh and Jeremy fixed my system which after two years of bandaid fixes by the installer had never been reliable and often failed when needed the most.  Their systematic and efficient inspection of my geothermal system identified countless installations errors.  Since they corrected these deficiencies, my system as worked as advertised and maintains target temperatures even when temperatures drop into the low teens.  Thanks to Josh and Jeremy, we now have much more confidence in our system.

Recent Review: We moved into a new home in August of 2015.  We spent a lot of money for a geothermal system which seemed to work fine until the colder weather started.  At that time we had a lot of low water temp readings and our energy bill was very high.  McCrea was great at addressing these error readings and spent a lot of time troubleshooting the issues.  After a number of visits and trying different things, we proceeded to have the T&P valves replaced on our units.  It seems that there were some issues with the manufacturer.  McCrea was AWESOME at troubleshooting during this process and very apologetic for the inconvenience.  This is our first time using geothermal and every time they came the guys were great at explaining how the system work and why the error readings could have occurred.  They answered any questions that I had and never seemed irritated by it.  It was unfortunate that our system had something wrong with it early on,  I am so glad that we worked with McCrea because they seemed to do the right thing in fixing it properly even at their inconvenience.  The customer service from the guys was exceptional.  I worked with Chris, Erich, and Greg which I can remember.  For anyone I left out, I am sorry.  Truly all the guys were great and I feel really good that we contracted McCrea for the job since I feel it was done right and when a malfunction was found, they did the right thing to correct it.

Recent Review: I had several contractors estimate a replacement of my failed A/C unit with a high efficiency heat pump with gas furnace backup.  They call the install dual fuel and it's the lowest cost to run without using something like geothermal. A few contractors actually understood what I was looking for, but Donmar suggested using a Trane unit with a Carrier thermostat.  I built units for York air conditioning and  their selections were the best options for effectiveness, efficiency, and cost - they obviously knew what they were talking about.  They even determined I could keep my existing furnace and save some decent $. They showed up on time and the install went smoothly.  The unit is running fine to this day. Highly recommend.

Recent Review: Their guys were great! Each of their respective teams -- well drillers, geothermal loopers, cleanup, interior install, all showed up on time, were thoroughly professional and were cool enough to answer all my questions. More importantly, they all provided excellent quality of work. In addition, the years and breadth of experience of their personnel alleviated any fears I had about something going wrong. Their price was competitive with 4 other drillers but I chose them based on their years of experience and time in the business (3rd generation). In hindsight, they were awesome! These are the guys to choose for anything to do with well drilling or geothermal wells.

Recent Review: North American GeoThermal and their team were stellar - professional, timely, reasonable cost, disciplined, courteous, and stuck with the agreed scope of the project. Their follow-up on all items of work was complete and well done. Their follow-up maintenance on the water furnace has been simple and very reasonable costs. This is THE geothermal company you want to choose for your property. The installation involved a vertical loop geothermal system for my 5000 sf home to replace an oil furnace. Since the work was done in 2015, I've had all of the projected cost savings expected. Now my home that was built in 1970's has uniform heat and cooling in all of the rooms throughout the year at a fraction of what the cost used to be. I highly recommend Richard and the North American GeoThermal team for your geothermal system.

There were a few problems that we had. Compared to the other one it's better. The geothermal system works fine. There were some landscaping things that they had to tear up in our yard and they didn't get it back to were we wanted it without a couple of visits. They didn't obey the schedule as they told us sometimes by several days. It was a complicated operation and I can understand that. We didn't object at the time, but it was a somewhat inconvenience. They were always available to talk. Sometimes they were ahead of schedule. I hope that we don't have to do this again, They would be our first choice.

Luke came out and gave me an estimate for Geothermal installing. I have not had it installed yet but plan to use him when the time is right. He was professional and seemed to know what he was doing. I have had several friends use him to install their geothermal and they highly recommend him. I had two estimates and his was about 10% cheaper, which is pretty significant considering the price of a geothermal.

So, this was a difficult service to rate, because in the end the service I called for wasn't actually done.  But I had to give them an all around conditional positive because they owned up to it and refunded the charge without a big fight.  I have a geothermal furnace; one night it had a trouble light. My regular guy - who had installed and serviced it for the past 10 years or so - wasn't answering his phone, so I called Nugent the next day (Friday).  Their website said they handled geothermals, the lady on the phone said they 'do them all the time'  and she would send her 'best geothermal guy.'  It was freezing and February, so I said yes please.  The guy was late -- he showed up around 7 pm (but remember, it was freezing, February, and he said they were swamped with calls) - and very polite.  Unfortunately, within about ten minutes it was clear that he wasn't a geothermal guy.  He said he hadn't worked on a geo in several years, and he didn't even have the right tools.  He was in fact surprised to learn that the company worked on geos (he was even surprised when I pointed out that the back of his shirt included the work 'geothermal').    So there wasn't much he could do except fiddle with wires for half an hour until I said I'd wait for my guy to call.   I'll give him props, he was willing to try, but it made me nervous.    He said he had to have a check before he left, so I wrote him one.  I felt really bad for him, it was a Friday night and a late call and he really was nice and this was not his fault -- he said he didn't even know he'd been sent out on a geothermal.  I called the company Monday and told them what happened.  They were apologetic and offered to send out another guy Tuesday - but I was a little leary of accepting (remember, this was supposed to be their 'best geo guy').   Eventually my guy called - he was out of town on a family emergency - and fixed the geo in, like, ten minutes.  It was a bad fuse. Bottom line:  although it took some phone tag over a period of days, I reached their service manager Walt and told him the problem.  They refunded my money within 6 weeks.  Everyone seemed really professional (if you overlook the fact that the best geo guy couldn't see that the fuse had melted to the board).  So I'd recommend them conditionally, just not for geos.

ATriState Home Services
I called a few companies in the area when beginning research on a GeoThermal Heat Pump. We have used TriState many times over the years, and this experience was no different. Making the switch from a traditional gas furnace/Electric HVAC is no small job, but Bert Miskell walked us through every step of the process, answering all our questions, without trying to "sell" us on his product the way another company did. We chose TriState because we were confident in their experience with previous installations, and because of the thoughtful way our questions and concerns were answered. We are currently awaiting installation, but every step thus far (determining well location, removal of an old, nonfunctioning system, Miss Utility visits) have proceeded exactly as Bert outlined, and he remains accessible and promptly returns phone calls and emails. We are excited to be able to utilize the Federal Tax credits that expire this year, reducing our overall cost by nearly half, and putting expenses very close to a traditional gas system. The costs between all the companies we spoke with were very comparable.

AHottle & Myers Inc
The work was done promptly, quickly and neatly. I was looking for heat pump when Larry Hottle suggested we compare the prices with a geothermal unit which is 4 times more efficient. With the gov. rebate on taxes I will receive at the end of this year the price was so close we went geothermal. Boy am I glad I did! The hottest day this summer the air coming out of the registers was 54 degrees! Larry and his sons were great. All three were courteous, well mannered and personable. Great family, I highly recommend these guys!

I have used IAQ for over 5 years for 3 different houses. The work has involved everything from regular maintenance of our HVAC systems - one of them being a Geothermal unit, to full on installation of in wall, room by room cooling heating units for a whole house. Every interaction with them has been positive, from the dispatchers to the technicians. Courteous, efficient, competent, straightforward, responsive, with shared priorities - like, not only a well functioning HVAC unit, but like their name says, they care about your family's Indoor Air Quality. I recommend them highly.

ANorth American Geothermal
We looked into a geothermal system after we decided to replace our oil-burning furnace in late 2016; gas is available on our street but because of our 100+ foot setback was expense to access. We looked into an air-sourced heat pumps but it has relatively high operating costs, especially in the winter. Geothermal looked too good to be true but did a ton of research and asked traditional HVAC companies their opinions (figured they’d have an incentive to layout the potential negatives) and the only downside we could find was the high installation cost. We contacted at least four companies and North American beat them all on cost and professionalism; plus geothermal is all they do and that was reflected in the knowledge and explanation of the process. We have had the system for more than a year and a half (two winters and coming up on our second summer) and it really is great! The promotional material lives up its hype: it is more comfortable, quieter, and cheaper to operate than a traditional HVAC. Because it is so efficient, you set your upper and lower temperatures limits and essentially walk away. North American’s post-purchase service has also been prompt and professional. A geothermal system is a big investment but think it is worth it from the perspective of recouping the upfront cost through efficiency, home value, and—most important—comfort.
