Recent Review: The overall experience was great! Ken Potter was in charge of the project. He met with us to discuss the project, helped us pick out the tub, cabinets, etc. and scheduled the entire project. Potter Construction completed the project within 4 days. My husband and myself were put up in a hotel for the week by Potter Construction while our bathroom was being remodeled. The experience was great since we did not have to be concerned with all the details of a remodeling project. Ken Potter took care of it all! He also had someone come in at the end of the project and clean the bathroom and surrounding rooms where dust might have collected. Of course, the only bad part of this remodeling is the cost. But, you pay for what you get!!!
two bathroom renovations; first class organization, promptness, and quality |of work--would not hesitate to use them again

Poorly organized and performed remodel. Mostly subcontractors with the main sub causing a fair amount of collateral damage. I had to come home each day to correct issues, supervise, and explain to the subs how things should be done as the F and S project supervisor was rarely there. Here are some problems: The tile installer didn't talk with us prior to the installation so I had to guess how much tile and what types to buy ending up wasting me money. Late arrival almost every morning. Wall damage from the initial demolition. Ceiling damage from large amount of water leaking to lower level during the initial demo, they busted pipes and water leaked through to my 1st floor. One of the workers kept peeing on the toilet seat downstairs. Mirrors installed off center over sinks that the sub blamed on F and S. Mirrors were too large and partially covered the opening for electrical outlets/lights but were installed anyway. Removing and replacing the mirrors caused a lot of drywall damage that I had to repair myself as they were glued on the wall. Soap dishes installed upside down. Cracked tiles on the floor that had some caulk placed over it and I had to insist they replace it as they were hesitant. Multiple cracked shower wall tiles they had to replace. Tile on floor installed and then other contractors came in and put scratches on the new tiles. Drywall work that was only sanded after I asked but still required me to skim coat it all as the finish was so poor. Cable and phone outlets simply covered up by granite backsplash, (I assumed they would move them up). I had to ask when they would install the shower doors as they stated they were done, again because the project manager was rarely there and could care less about the final product. I had to remove all the protective plastic from the carpet myself and do alot of the cleanup myself. A cracked window behind a shade that I found right after they left. I took pictures of the debacle to prove I was not just a whiner/complainer and I had legitimate concerns. It took me a year to write the review because I was trying not to think about it, it was so stressful and such a miserable experience.

The provider started the project a month ahead of the scheduled time. The renovation entailed removal and replacement of tub and surround as well as tiling of floor and installing of new faucets. They also replaced the light/heat/fan fixture in the ceiling. The entire project took 5 days. Mr. Dollman's employees performed the work in a timely and skilled manner. They made sure that they had materials we had selected and were always very professional.

We had 2 visits - estimator was late both times. The first time over an hour late and didn't let us know he was running behind until after we had waited half an hour. Was 30 minutes late on second visit. When he did show up he was very considerate of our home, put on paper slippers to cover his shoes to keep from soiling the flooring. Was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable. His design plan was very good but not exactly what we wanted and he didn't seem inclined to make any changes. Perhaps he was right in what he said about our ideas but he didn't convince us that his design was the best way to go. His cost estimate was very reasonable and gave an extensive timetable or schedule of how the remodel would go. We were impressed with this company and their reputation. We would have gone with them had we not found another contractor more open to our ideas.

I contacted Jeff via Angie's List due to a horrible experience w/ another contractor. He responded quickly to my request and gave me a quote for everything I wanted completed/repaired. He showed up on time and volunteered to stay late to get as much accomplished as possible. Project #1: He installed a new bathroom vanity and faucet, recessed mirror, overhead light fixture, moved/combined electrical outlet, installed tile floor, floor trim and door molding, paint, shower curtain and reinstalled existing toilet. (He also installed sheetrock, mud, sanded it and painted everything I asked him to paint. ) Project #2: Installed 2x closet storage/hanging shelving. This was an additional project I asked Jeff to do while he was working on the bathroom project. He gave me a quote and we worked on it after the bathroom was complete. He was very flexible due to my house being a hundred years old and some things were very challenging to figure out. He proved to be very knowledgeable, resourceful, reliable and trustworthy. I am thankful that I came across Jeff and would definitely use him again.

Went well - very professional, respected my house, no mess for me to clean up. They were about mid-level in bids - hence the B rating on price. However, best contractors I've had in my house since I've lived here.

They are way too expensive, so I never used them. I found somebody else that was doing the work for third of cost. They were responsive and came out almost immediately. I would not use them again.

Dollman Contruction was wonderful. I have 3 remodelled bathrooms, and great new closets in my master bedroom. They were honest and diligent, and they cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. They used wonderful subcontractors, and I didn't have to deal with any problems. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a general contractor. p.s. I put $0.00 above because such information is confidential.
