Recent Review: Highly professional, clearly experienced and proven contractor. I have nothing but praise for the service rendered... Josh and his team built a very high-quality deck, and did it with speed and professionalism. Based on the excellence of their work, I’m also planning to use them to build a privacy fence. They proved themselves with their work, so now I’ll consider myself a loyal customer.

Reviews in Chesapeake for Building Wheelchair Ramps

CAce Home Improvements
The final ramp was great, however, it took two tries to get it right. The first ramp was so steep it scared my mother in law. My grand daughter thought the first ramp was a great bike ramp. In the end I was satisfied. The workers were very polite and professional. Just wish they had gotten it right the first time.

He measured with care, obtained relevant portion of city code and our property description.  He recommended installing inside the garage (rather than outdoors exposed to weather) and pointed out that if it is officially designated as temporary, then permit and inspection are not required.  Upon our go-ahead, the very next day he (with a helper) built it in its entirety and cleaned up after finishing.

BGet It Done Contracting, Inc.
When provider was contacted, first available appointment for estimate was 12 days later.  We took it, estimator arrived exactly on time, measured carefully, listened to our concerns, told us to expect a written estimate in about a week: once we reviewed estimate, contract could be signed in a couple of days and work would be done some time after that, he could not tell us how long after that.  We explained we would like - with the estimate - a sketch of what the job would look like and a rough idea of how much lead time before the job could be done, and he assured us that would be provided. Ten days later, estimate came: no sketch, no statement of lead time.  Estimate was for just about twice as much as the two other estimates had been, no explanation of why that should be so.  However, by the time this estimate was received, someone else had already done the job. Would consider these people again only if time is not an important factor.

Chris was very easy to deal with. He came to the house on schedule to discuss details we wanted, and installed per our request. Chris and his staff were on the job when he promised. His honored his price, and did an excellent quality job.

AMid Atlantic Exteriors LLC
Old deck boards were removed, existing joists were reinforced and PVC boards were installed on the deck and existing ramp. Mr. Norman was very easy to work with in planning what needed to be done within my budget. His crew was efficient and cleaned up at the end of each work day. The old deck boards were removed on Monday and the work was completed by Friday. I am very pleased with the end result.

He does a fantastic job. His prices are very reasonable. He's courteous. He's very busy so sometimes it may take longer to get a job done, unless it's an emergency. He's very friendly and he's got every tool imaginable!

AJ W SYKES CONSTRUCTION CO INC
Jimmey is a highly experienced contractor who has performed 80+ jobs in our neighborhood. He is also a very nice person who was sensitive to our needs. He works with several subcontractors who actually do the work and they have been working with him in some cases over 20 years. All of them did very good work from the foundation concrete (slab construction) to the framing, electrical and plumbing, the work was all first rate and timely. The entire job took approximately 14 weeks which was very near to his estimate. I would recommend J.W. Sykes to anyone who is remodeling, building new, or adding an addition to their home.

ADecks for Less
The service and professionalism from Ronnie of Decks for less was top notch. He took the time to explain all of my options and provided excellent input into the deck design. I can't say enough great things about the results. It turned out awesome and I will be recommending Decks for less to all of my friends.

AColor Select Inc
This was our third time hiring Quenton Banks of Color Select Inc. We hired him to replace several rotting wood deck boards, repair and then paint and seal coat our wood deck. He was again very personable, courteous and respectful of our property. He did an excellent job. I had no qualms about hiring him again and will continue to hire him for any future jobs.

ATidewater Pro Build
Witten Brothers Contracting is a local company owned by two brothers, Caleb and Trey. Caleb was referred to me by another professional tradesman. I already had quotes for a steel ramp and aluminum ramp and was looking for something a little less "institutional" looking that was still going to be long-lasting. When I first spoke with Caleb he listened to my needs and came over within the week to look at the house. He measured, took pics and gave me some options. When we were finally ready to move forward, he came over again to nail down the final design and sign the contract. Caleb took care of all the permit issues with the city. The project was delayed a couple of days because of bad weather which had pushed them behind on other days. When Trey and his crew arrived to dig the post holes it was sunny. By late morning it was majorly downpouring. Trey rigged up some tarps so they could keep digging as the inspector was already scheduled to come out the next day. The actual building of the ramp was pretty quick. It took about a day and a half (not counting the day for pouring concrete). The ramp is nearly 5 feet wide and has a very gentle 1:12 slope. They used concrete for the last 10" or so due to the slope of the driveway. The sides are done with pickets and Caleb gave the handrails a nice beveled edge. The ramp goes from the driveway to the front porch. A threshold ramp was also built. The design of the ramp is perfect. It preserved the already existing landscaping and light posts. One of the guys even transplanted two bird's nests from a couple limbs that had to be cut back. The ramp extends less than 1' into the driveway so I did really lost any space. They are extremely clean and organized. They took every scrap, nail and food/drink container with them. They swept the ramp, sidewalk and driveway. I could not have been any happier and look forward to using them again for some additional accessibility improvements in the house!
