Recent Review: I highly recommend them. They are a family business. They are a small, local company. We pay them for our annual service. We have used them for six years. They always try the less expensive approach. I always have the same technician, so he knows me and and my furnace and air conditioner. Their prices are reasonable.

Recent Review: Got a recommendation from a neighbor who has used Penguinaire for several years. Phil responded to my call promptly. We arranged a visit to survey what I had, and determine what I wanted. I told him what I wanted - I had already had three estimates. He didn't try to upsell, and gave me a fair price that was inline with the lowest bid I had gotten. Since my system was still functioning, we were able to schedule the replacement for the first moderate day of temp scheduled. Luckily, the weather predictions held. Phil brought out extra crew to make sure everything got done in a single day. He was able to move the exterior unit to the side of the yard, which has opened up the rear of the house for a patio. Good customer service and follow up, making sure everything was functioning well. Overall, his crew did a good job replacing the units, and cleaned up after themselves like one would expect. I would recommend that you give them a call.
Recent Review: I heard of ATC from a family member and when my air conditioning stopped working in August 2011, I did my due diligence and researched a number of different units and companies. ATC provided me with a brand new AC/Heating system in 2011 at a cost of 25-35% lower than their competitors for the same or like product. I was impress by how thorough they were and how much time they spent on making sure the system was installed correctly and worked efficiently. When I had questions, they were more than willing to take the time and answer in terms that I could understand. They took the time to explain the new thermostat and its features. I received a follow up call to make sure I was happy with the equipment's performance. When they were completed, they cleaned up any mess from the installation. This January, they performed general cleaning maintenance and uncovered that the drain line was clogged.. This, in itself, could have cost me a substantial amount of money in damages if remained unchanged. They rescheduled to have the AC system blown out and the drain line unclogged. Again, very professional, responsive and clean. I've enjoyed my relationship with ATC and will continue to heed their advice and continue using their services for the upcoming years.
Recent Review: The installations go very smoothly. The techs know what they are doing, and they do a little extra. They can use some work in the front office, though, scheduling oil deliveries on time.
Recent Review: Our A/C system went out after 18 years of working and we contacted Rob Gault with Atlas Heating & A/C since he put our original one in. He came out the same day and temporary got our system working which was a blessing because it was over 90 degress. He gave us some options and we decided to replace the complete unit due to it's age. There was no pressure to buy or add on things not needed. Rob and his crew came out early the next morning as promised and had our complete system installed by early afternoon. They removed all the old parts and left without leaving a mess. It was a nice professional install. Rob is upfront and honest to work with and we would highly recommend him.
Have no complaints. When our central air conditioner died they provided us a window air conditioner which really helped at night.

I have been using MP Energy Services since 2012 when they installed a new hot water heater and replaced the coils on my central AC unit. Since then I have been using the company for spring and Fall inspections of my heat and AC units. This year the technician David came to my house to inspect the AC system on April 14, 2017. Upon checking the outside AC unit he said it was not working. He said one of the fuses was burned out and sent me to a nearby Home Depot for a replacement. I got 1 block from the house and he called me on my cell and told me to come back because the compressor was bad. He recommended a replacement of the AC and also the furnace because it was too old (1996). Marlon Pujol, the owner, came to the house the following day and recommended several efficiency options for replacing both the AC unit and the furnace which he said was in good shape for its age. I contacted several heating and AC companies for estimates for the work Marlon had recommended. The first company came by and replaced the fuse that was bad. The AC unit started right up and sounded quiet in its operation. They (owner and technician) asked me if I wanted to have them evaluate the AC unit and I agreed. The unit was cooling fine and the temperature of the cooling line was perfect. They recommended using the system until it no longer works. I have been using the system in 85 degree temps and the house is perfectly comfortable. I returned Marlon's call to see if I decided. I shared what happened and he hypothesized the technician’s meter was defective. It’s possible. Unfortunately, I now have a trust issue.

Our air conditioner quit running just as a heat wave started. I spent an entire day call in service companies, many of which did not return my call. When I called Argent, I spoke to a customer service Representative who was able to schedule the call for the next day. I did not have to wait for someone else to call back as I did with several of the other companies. The repair person arrived the next day as scheduled and after examining my system, told me that due to its advance age and expense of repair, I needed a new system. I had been expecting this as our system was over 30 years old. The repairman arranged for Dave to come and give me an estimate on a new system later that day. Since I was expecting to have to replace the system, I had already made arrangements to get 3 other estimates. Although the estimate I got from Argent was not the lowest, it was the best value because instead of the standard one year labor warranty, I got a two year labor warranty and a two year service contract. The installation was very professionally done and I am completely satisfied with the work. They also pointed out an additional problem with my duct work, which they came back and repaired for a very reasonable price. I am very happy with their work.

Installation seemed to go well. However, shortly after the weather turned hot and we started using the AC regularly water started leaking from the ceiling under the unit (which is in the attic). He returned and replaced a cracked pipe at no charge, but he was very unpleasant about it. He said someone must have stepped on it and broke it walking around the attic. He did not believe me when I told him no one had even been in the attic since they installed it. (I have since been up to the attic to see where the pipe is located and it is behind some ductwork! Not in a part of the attic where we have storage or anyone EVER goes.) Clearly this pipe must have cracked when they were installing the unit. Now we have the expense of replacing drywall in our ceiling. Furthermore, the AC is not running correctly and he is very belligerent when we try to talk to him about it over the phone. We have given up on him and are calling someone else for repairs.

Mike, their sales rep, came out to give me an estimate. He seemed extremely knowledgeable and took copious notes about my needs/concerns. Then, two days later, I received an estimate from Jennifer for a system/brand that we (Mike and I) had agreed was overrated and over-"SEER"'ed - not at all what we discussed in person. We've played phone tag a couple times to see how this happened, but it's my impression that if they can't get an estimate right, how can they install an air conditioner? I can't help but question the company's reputation given this lack of attention to detail.

McCarthy Services checked out our air conditioning unit, which was clearly not putting out much cold air. A competitor was just here a couple weeks ago and declared everything working fine. The McCarthy technician said we could fix the unit for $500 or replace the over-15 year old unit for $4500. We went with option B, and this is the amazing part, they replaced it THAT DAY!!!! And we didn't even ask, thinking that it would take at least a week to fit us into the schedule and get parts. Very professional all around, and we highly recommend them.

They claimed to have replaced my capacitor. 2 weeks later my AC stopped working. With my home warranty, I requested a recall and they sent out another company. ATR heating and cooling discovered that ABS has replaced my capacitor with a used one, that burned out like the previous one.

After comparing four estimates to replace our 32 year furnace and AC unit from C.A.R.E. property services, Grove heating and cooling, Belair Engineering, and A.P. Mathews, I found that all of the companies offered good service and similar approaches to our heating and cooling needs albeit with different furnace manufacturers (Gibson, TRANE, Carrier, and TRANE, respectively). A.P. Mathews gave me the best price on a 96 AFUE furnace and 16 SEER AC unit . I was also impressed with their customer service. When I came to find that TRANE's manufacturer rebate had expired, A.P. Mathews increased the value of the Angie's list coupon to further ease the financial burden of the cost. Perhaps the cost difference was due to Paul honoring a quote we had received back in March of 2018 that was valid for a year. The installation was done in a day and the installers were professional. I appreciated that they wore booties to keep the floor clean without being asked and let us know when the gas was going to be turned off/on. They allowed us to keep our electronic air cleaner and added a HEPA filter in-line for added purification. The approximate cost of the service does not include any rebates or coupon discounts.

Challenge EVERYTHING this company tells you. Expect the answer for any question to be "it's required by code." I have a home warranty but of course they handed me a list of $1194 of "non-covered charges." My home warranty company claims that Pride A/C & Heating bills as a "flat rate company," and the home warranty company can't determine if the charges they are passing on to me are already covered in the scope of work paid by the home warranty company. On the original estimate, they tried to charge me $130 for something called "locking caps." I called the office and asked what this was. Answer (you guessed it): "it's code." Went straight to Google and quickly found that you can get refrigerant cap locks for $5-$10 each! I'm sure any HVAC company buys them in bulk and gets them even cheaper. That's a 1300% markup and probably qualifies as illegal price gouging. I'll be filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I bought them on my own and installed myself. Took about 5 minutes. Excessive “sheet metal repair” estimate was dropped to $150 when I challenged them, but it was still ridiculous since when the actual work was done this repair consisted of one cut of a 15 inch wide metal panel. Not even included on the estimate were inflated recovery and disposal fees of $220 and $120. Finally, after the work was done, I checked the model number on the evaporator they installed and it’s the wrong one! The one they installed is for an R-22 refrigerant system and my system uses R-410A! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

Jeff Smoot came to my home from TriState. He is very professional, honest and helpful. He went out of his way (above and beyond) to answer questions. He even got out his thermal camera to help answer questions. Tristate's bid was the best price compared to the 2 other local bids. Tristate set up portable air conditioners to temporarily use until the new air conditioner was installed! They started with the work right away. Jeff Smoot and Raymond Mills saw we had a broken baffle in the duct work area and fixed it with no extra charge. This has made it so much cooler in the summer on the 2 upper levels of our townhouse! The new Lennox air conditioner is quiet and works great!
