Recent Review: We met Rich at the Washington Home and Garden Show and got his flyer.  Called to make an appointment for the installation of a solar attic fan.  We did have to wait for a few weeks to get the install done, but after a home and garden show, I am sure they were inundated with calls for appointments.   The work was done beautifully, the customer service has been fantastic.  Have used them again for installation of a solar tube.  Can't recommend them highly enough.

Recent Review: I have used Riddle Electric to replace our attic fan and install the electrical lines to have a dishwasher installed.  He does a good job and I would recommend him. Forrest installed an attic fan for me as we were getting ready to move out of our house.  A few weeks later it was rattling, so I called to have him have a look at it.  When he came back he found that the attic fan was fine, but the housing unit (the space to hold the attic fan) was loose.  He said the roofers should have tacked it down tight when they replaced the roof a few months before.  He ended up wedging a piece of wood to tighten the housing unit into place.  It solved the problem and he didn't charge me for it.   I feel like he is a confident worker and knows what he is doing.  I trust his knowledge and feel like he is fair.  I would recommend him to others.

Recent Review: Kolb was able to come out quickly to replace our old attic fan that died during house renovations. Our fan was so old that the replacement fan brought by the technician did not fit so he went to a local home store to buy the appropriate part and was able to complete the job in one day. We added additional items to the request - installing ceiling fan, fixing wiring in some of the outlets installing hall lights. The job was done quickly and efficiently.

Recent Review: After the technician left, the new fan sounded much louder than the previous one; it had a vibrating noise.  I called the company and they said that  noise didn't sound normal so they sent the same technician out to check it.  He said the sound was normal but that  this time he had put more insulation over the attic access lid to help deaden the sound.  He charged me $96.00 for the second visit  which I thought was excessive.

Reviews in Burke for Installing Attic Fans

AAbsolute Electric LLC
Our old attic fan was broken. We called to have a new one put in. The person taking our call was friendly and professional. He was able to quote a price on the phone, and gave us options for type/color. It took a few days before the installer could come out, but that wasn't a problem because it was urgent. The installer was also very professional and polite. Given the steepness of the roof, it took a bit longer than we expected, but we'd rather have it done right. The price we were charged ended up being a bit higher than the price we were quoted (because of the extra time it took given the roof's angle), but not by much. We'd go with this company again.

A4 Service Pros
They arrived promptly as scheduled. The serviceman was very nice and professional. The fan "Big Deal "I signed up for was credited to a fan upgrade i.e. more powerful  one and a second fan was recommended for the other end of the attic space and was installed. It ended up being more costly the I anticipated, but they are working on these hot days. The work was done well  and completed in 2 hours. I am pleased with the job and would recommend them.

AWilliam G Hyman Electrical Contractor
An attic fan installed 13 months earlier by another company died 1 month after the warranty expired. I called Hyman Electric and Alex came over very quickly to assess the problem (broken fan blade). I said I wanted to replace the fan with one with a more powerful motor and he explained my options. We set a date for installment but, because the weather was very hot and the new fan was in stock, he returned within a day. The fan he installed was larger and more powerful than the original and cost less. He also added an on-off switch as a safety precaution.

ARoot Electric
This company has excellent reviews on Angie's pList, and after doing business with them I know why. I contacted them by email first, and after a prompt answer, I called to set up an appointment. Mr. Root was pleasant to talk with, and gave me the first date that he could. He told me who would be coming, and said that they would call before they came. Everything worked out as he said. Two courteous young men came and installed the fan in about a half hour. I was very impressed, although after getting the new fan I read an article that said attic fans remove too much of the air conditioned air in your house, so you pay more in the end. One last positive note, Root gives a senior discount, which we appreciated.

Victor and Andres called 20 minutes before they showed up to give me a heads up. They were a few minutes ahead of schedule when they showed up. The installation was quick and went smoothly and they cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Victor fully explained how the new fan worked and gave some recommendations to make it most useful. He then provided a free home inspection that I agreed to. He wrote up the recommendations for that and gave fair estimates. The team was very professional, affordable, and friendly. I would definitely hire Victor again for electrical work.

We realized that our old attic fan had stopped working (contributing to a mold problem - ugh!!!). We were really anxious to get a new fan put in ASAP. We called three electric companies, all ranked well on Angie's List. Talked to someone at one company and left a message at another, but neither ever called us back to arrange service! Absolute Electric, however, was immediately responsive. They sent an electrician to our house the next morning. He was on time and professional. They gave us an Angie's List deal for about $475 or so to replace an attic fan. It was all done quickly. Best of all, the symptoms that most of our family was displaying from exposure to mold in the attic (due to a roof leak, exacerbated by constant rain and the previously broken fan) quickly improved (though didn't disappear) once the fan was installed. We still had to fix the roof, of course, and will have the mold treated, but it was a huge relief to have the fan installed so quickly and efficiently.

BTrunnell Electric Inc
The original request was for replacement of a roof-mounted attic fan including providing the fan and doing the electrical work, and the estimate for the entire job was about $500. Two men came to do the job but after spending some time on the roof were reluctant to remove the old fan because they thought there could be shingle problems if they did so. One of them (Guy) did the electrical work to prepare for a new fan and recommended that I call a roofer to provide and install the fan. I did so and called Trunnel and Guy returned to complete the job. Trunnel billed $322 which corresponded to time on the job and material, but when this was added to the cost of the roofer and fan, the total was much larger than the original $500 estimate. It's hard to evaluate the performance. On the one hand, the total cost was high; on the other hand, I appreciate that they didn't mess up my roof, which I probably not have noticed for some time.
