Recent Review: Highly recommend them. He is the best there is. He's the best one around. I had to wait a couple of weeks because he couldn't get to me but he told me that upfront. He was here when he said he would be here. His prices are competitive. He does excellent work. I can't say enough good about it.

ADeeco Water Wells Pump Sales & SVC
It went pretty well. Had to call him back to lower the pump after the first install. Pump was still losing suction. After the pump was set deep enough, we have had no trouble.

I chose Benjamin Franklin because of a log of good reviews that I saw here on Angie's List.  I called on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they were in fact making appointments that day.  In fact, they could have come right away as someone was in my area, however I had another appointment and said that I needed it to be later that day if possible.  They were very accommodating and we scheduled the appointment for them to come to later that afternoon.  Scott was the individual who came by and took a look at my pump.  He was extremely polite and professional and very helpful when he came over.  I definitely had no problems with the professionalism and promptness.  However, what I did have an issue with was the price they charged.  The plumber was there at my house for about 45 minutes.  He opened up the top of where the pump sits and observed to see whether or not it was in fact the pump that was bad or if it was the float or both.  We turned on water downstairs and did a bit of trouble shooting to see what happened.  The end result was that he confirmed what I thought initially, that the float needed to be replaced.  He also suggested that I might want to replace the pump as well since it was nearing the end of its useful life.  It was great feedback and advice.  Because he didn't have any of the parts with him, he said we would need to schedule a follow-up visit.  So, everything seemed to be going well so far.  However, here was the kicker.  Although only a diagnosis was performed and nothing was replaced or even fixed, I was charged $414 just to come over and take a look.  And I was told that it would cost an additional $285 to come and actually replace the float (and that I was getting a great deal for that since I wouldn't be charged the visiting cost twice).  I also was told it would cost an additional $1540 to replace both the pump and float.  The breakdown of the $414 was $29 to come out to the house and $385 to take a look at the pump.  To me, this just seems to be an outrageous sum of money for only a diagnosis.  If you decide to give Benjamin Franklin a try, make sure and talk about prices beforehand for even just coming to take a look.  When I was told on the phone that it would be $29 to come out and then additional charges to fix, I assumed that it would be $29 plus the cost of fixing the thing.  I didn't realize that it would be $29 to come out, $385 to just look at it and then another $285-1540 to actually fix it.  That to me does not seem reasonable at all. UPDATE: Subsequent to this review, I called Benjamin Franklin and spoke to the manager about what had happened.  He was very understanding on the phone and agreed that something needed to be done.  He refunded me the majority of the money I had been charged and I was impressed with how he handled the situation.  I think that this company is a good company and can provide good services when needed, however I would just make sure and find out what the person is going to charge before they do anything at all.  It sounds like there may not be a standard list of charges that they use and it may just depend on who actually comes to your home.  In the end, I went to Home Depot and purchased a new float switch for $20 and spent 20 minutes fixing it myself.  Definitely much cheaper than the over $700 that was quoted to me by Benjamin Franklin to fix it.  However, I am glad I was able to figure out that nothing else was wrong through their service and although the initial experience with the price was bad, everything was worked out in the end and I applaud the customer service that was shown to me in listening to my complaints and working with me on fixing the issue.

AAffordable Heating & Cooling
A few days after turning on our AC this summer, we noticed drips of water from a light fixture right below where part of our AC system is in our attic. Aack! I called this company and they were able to come out the next day (pretty good, considering we are in our first spurt of hot weather and another company told me it would be a few more days before they could come). Some things had not been installed properly in the parts of the AC system in the attic with the result that condensed water was blowing everywhere and we had a lot of wet insulation and wet plaster. The repairman fixed the problems and replaced the parts that had been damaged because of the improper installation, and also did what he could to rearrange things so hopefully our attic dries out without a ceiling caving in or something. The repairman was courteous, professional, and helpful and did the work quickly. He did leave a bit of a mess (even after using his shop vac) but nothing that unexpected. The cost was less than I thought it might be, which is always a pleasant surprise. I would definitely call them again!

AConnect All Plumbing
Sometimes you get lucky with a referral.  We recently purchased a new house and were introduced to Connect All Plumbing because they were sent by our home warranty company to fix a broken whirlpool tub pump.  Geoff arrived on time and was very professional.  He diagnosed the problem and returned a few days later with a replacement pump which he installed. We were so impressed with his professionalism and plumbing knowledge that we hired Connect All to install a pressure regulator on our water main.  Since that project we have used Connect All several more times in the past 4 weeks for other plumbing related projects including:   1) installed a hot water circulation pump 2) cleaned and serviced our hot tub 3) serviced a blocked sewage line Connect All is now our plumber of choice.  They always respond quickly and do very good quality work at fair prices.   Price above is the approximate total for all of the service calls over the past four weeks.

AMy Buddy The Plumber Heating & Air
Jared made a Saturday service call for us when our below-grade sewer pump alarm sounded first thing in the morning. While the problem ended up being minor, it could have been a mess with sewage all over our finished basement. Jared was personable, polite, professional, and efficient. He even did some quick troubleshooting on our basement bathroom. Great job!

Colton arrived on time after calling to let me know he was on his way (love that!) When he arrived and I described the problem, he got to work and brought in his equipment. I asked for a quote based on his initial impression and he said "$200-250". He spent the first hour trying to loosen the clog, and then it became evident that there was a problem. He came in and out of the house many times, walking past me in the living room each time without ever voluntarily providing an update. There was a lot of heavy sighing and he was clearly frustrated though not really openly upset. My little boys were curiously watching it all. Evidently part of his snake tool had become stuck in the line somewhere on a root so he spent at least an hour (and the majority of the time he was at my home) trying to resolve that issue. This is understandably frustrating, but I don't feel that it was dealt with in a particularly professional manner. After all the coming and going and anxiety of it all, my boys and I felt really agitated by his presence and I was really anxious for him to leave. The service ended up costing $100 more than he's quoted because of the additional time. I suppose from a labor standpoint that may be fair, though I would've felt like the additional cost were more justified if the job had actually gone beyond the original scope of work or been more complicated. A malfunction of equipment or unexpected obstacle to working the equipment doesn't necessarily seem to warrant an additional 30% in cost. I felt like some communication along the way would've softened the blow as well, but it wasn't until he brought in a bill written up in his truck that I found out. I know these things are expensive, but I feel like a little compassion and finesse go a long way when it comes to talking it through, and there was none of that today. In the time intervening since he left, I've found muddy footprints on my newly cleaned white carpet (even though there's a runner in my hallway leading to the bathroom to walk on), a metallic scrape along several tiles that I cannot remove, sewage all over the toilet and walls in my bathroom, and a large rusty stain in my driveway where his truck was parked. Overall it felt stressful, dysfunctional and unprofessional. It felt like he was just getting through it rather than taking pride in his work. Based on the first experience I had with the company I may decide to call them again in the future, but I'm not sure at this point because today was so negative.

These guys are the best in the business. They quoted me 1/3 the cost of another company (Scott Hale Plumbing) to replace my sump pump. These guys are as good as they get. They work fast, efficient, and don't have these bogus prices. Only problem is they are booked out bc they're so busy bc people always call them back!!

AS OPPOSED TO OTHERS THAT WE WERE CALLING WHEN WE HAD WATER COMING UP, WE CALLED THEM (IN THE EVENING ON A SATURDAY), AND WERE ABLE TO TALK TO A HUMAN BEING, INSTEAD OF A VOICE MAIL. WE FELT A LITTLE MORE CONFIDENT THAT THEY WOULD HELP US OUT IN AN AFTER HOURS SITUATION.

AService Experts Heating & Air Conditioning
Christian arrived to the house on time and found the issue with the condensate pump relatively quickly. He was great about letting me watch him work so that I could learn what was going on for myself. He went out to get a new pump, returned and installed it quickly. He then tested it to make sure everything worked properly.

AElectric Rooter Drain & Sewer
After looking over the basement drain system, they went back to the sump pump itself and kept working with it until it began working. Apparently the pump impeller was stuck and I did not know what to look for. Eventually it began working. Within 15-20 minutes of their arrival, they had the problem solved at minimal cost, especially for a Sunday emergency call.
