Business Description: Dedication Roofing is a family owned and operated businesses. Dennis R Bodell President has 18 years of experience Dennis J Bodell General Manager over 40 years of experience. Dennis J Bodell has over 40 years in every aspect of roofing starting in 1970 doing residential and commercial flat Roofs shingle, shakes, tile and metal. By the 1980's was a superintendent of large Government and commercial projects. By the late 80s went into Management running projects of several million dollars all over the western United States with commercial and residential also in the state of Utah. What really makes our experience so high is looking at and doing projects all over the western U.S you see all different kinds of roofing installed in all different states that have been on for 15 to 30 years what methods work and what do not work. I would equivocate that to a masters degree in roofing we specialize in all types of roofing, one of the worst roofs installed over the last 10 years are flat roofs. The problem is that there are so many cheap flat roofs installed the home owner does not understand the different nuances of roofing, That is were we come in we install the highest grade of single ply roofs we are an approved applicator through the manufacturer and install all roofs according to specification which is not common by most roofers anymore. Residential roofers are very seldom approved by any manufacturer and install roofs according to there own specifications not the manufacturers that is why the common flat roof in the state of Utah is only lasting about 10 years. We install high end roofs that last over 20 years, so reach out and let us take a look at your roof and explain things to you most contractors don't even know and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Recent Review: My experience with Knockout Roofing was very positive. Kris came out to give me a bid; he spent a lot of time with me and explained all of my options. Kris was very friendly and professional. Once I accepted the bid, JD was my project manager. Even though JD is a busy guy he always responded to my texts right away. I had to push out the install date a few times and JD always accommodated me. On the day of the install, the crew showed up on time and replaced my entire roof in a single day! My house is small - the roof is less than 1500 square feet - but getting it all done in one day was pretty impressive! The crew was clean and professional while on-site. A few of my neighbors have membrane roofs, too, but I think mine looks the nicest.

Recent Review: My home is over 60 years old and needed a new roof. Brock Horton (owner/chief estimator) provided an estimate quickly, and answered all of my questions completely and thoroughly. He carefully explained the work process, provided information about all of the products used, and delivered insurance and license documents before work started. He and his team worked well together and even received compliments from my neighbors about speed and cleanliness of the job. They tore off all 3 layers of old shingles including original underlayment and installed dry in shingles and all accessories (ridge cap, ice and water shield, underlayment, drip edge, flashings). On the 30-year old flat tar and gravel roof, they removed all gravel and installed TPO membrane, TPO dripedge, and all accessories over the old flat roof at my request. They followed my request to recycle/reuse as much material as possible. They removed an old passive solar box and recycled it with the metal. They laid down tarps around the work area, piled the old gravel up for me to reuse as garden path, and leaned 4x8 plywood against the side of the house to use as ramps to move old materials off the roof and into the dumpster. They completely protected windows, doors and outdoor landscaping, kept the attic insulation clean and dry, and kept nails off the driveway. For every instance that I called Brock with a question or a concern, he took the time to completely explain the situation and/or took immediate action to solve it. Salt City Roofers cost was in between the fly-by-night contractor, and the big-box nationwide DIY store contractor.  All of the above made a very important and fairly expensive roof replacement a decent experience, and one that I have nothing BAD to say about.

AKimball Construction Co LLC
Our point of contact was Gary Courtright who did an excellent job in communicating, estimating, and coordinating the repairs and roofing shingle replacement for our rather large and expansive home in Fruit Heights where in some years, the canyon winds through our town can exceed 100 MPH. After 25 satisfactory years on our old roof, we contracted Kimball to complete some extensive roofing plywood repairs, re-flashing, re-membraning, and re-edging of the entire 6,000 SF roof. Per Gary's expert advice, Louie and Rohojolo installation, we ended up with a very attractive and fully sealed roof that will probably last twice as long as our previous roof. We now have a Tamko 50 year architectural shingled and ridged roof that can now withstand winds up to 150 MPH. SUPER. JOB WELL DONE

AIntermountain West Contractors
I want to start this off by saying that working with Gerald Sommer from Intermountain West Contractors has left me feeling like there are still people out there that their word means something, that they are honest and trustworthy, and that they care about the quality of work that they do.  I would highly recommend them for any of your roofing needs.   Now let?s look at the details that back up my recommendation above.  We have been in our home for 18 years and we are the first owners.  We had noticed a small leak and we have had a couple of other contractors come out and look at the problem.  The issue that caused our leak was one of bad installation by those that built our house initially.  They had nailed the shingles right down into the valley and as the shingles wore down and as the water would build up in the valley it would run down the nails and into our attic.  I just didn?t feel right about either of them so we did not proceed with them.  Then we found Gerald, when we first contacted Gerald to come out and look at our roof to give us a bid.  We had set an appointment for this to happen.  He was running late that day, but he called us before our scheduled meeting time to make sure that it was ok to reschedule for an hour later, we confirmed the new time and he was very prompt.  Once arriving he went up on the roof to look at our concerns and to measure for the estimate.   On sitting down with him and going over his recommendation, looking through all of the reviews of his business and the products that he would use we decided to go ahead and scheduled the work to be done.  Because our roof had a leak it had to be a tear off and not just a recover.  Therefore he was going to be bringing our roof up to current building codes in the process.  The part of the bid that caught my attention was his attention to detail.  He know how many sheets of plywood he world need, he know all of his other supplies down to just how many nails he would need to complete the job. Having grown up in the construction business with a father and brother both being General Contractors I was very impressed by this.   Gerald stayed in contact with us and answered any questions we had and double checked all of the items including the color of the shingles with us between the appointment and the starting of the job.  His crew showed up as scheduled and the whole job was completed as promised/scheduled.  Just two days to do a complete tear off, bring up to code, and re-shingle of our entire roof.   I highly recommend them for any of your roofing needs. It didn't go. We made an appointment for an estimate and the guy never called and never showed. up. When I called to find out why he did not show he asked if he could call me back in 5 minutes. He totally blew me off and never called me back. Total waste of time/

AFORTRESS ROOFING
Couldn't have gone better. Adam came over to give an estimate within an hour of our calling him. We consulted with many other companies, with some being lower and some being higher but what I was most impressed is Fortress was they were only one that showed me all of their licenses, references, proof of insurance, and roofing manufacturer accolades without my having to even to ask for them. In working with a contractor all of that stuff is very, very important. Ashley brought over samples a few days later and within 2 weeks they were on my roof. It took about 3 days and the cleanup was excellent. One nice touch they did is they painted the PVC plumbing vent pipes and the metal flue pipe to match the color of the new shingles so they blended in nicely. I didn't realize how much those white PVC pipes stood out until Fortress literally made them disappear.

Profile roofing was recommended by a neighbor, after we witnessed firsthand the roof work done to that home. The company genuinely cares about their customers, and they deliver what was promised upfront. We have and will continue to recommend, Profile Roofing.

AIntermountain West Contractors
The crews showed up on time and were curteous.  Make sure if you are removing an older wood shingle roof and have siding to discuss the gap that will be left between the new roof and the siding.  When we asked about Gerald about it he addressed it that day and it looks great.  He pulled all the permits, the job was done to code and clean after the job was complete was good.  And the best part besides a great looking new roof, no more sweating the 4th of July!

We loved working with Gerald at Intermountain West Contractors.  He was honest and fair and his team did a beautiful job on our new roof.  They were very hardworking and removed our old roof and installed our new one in less than two days.  They were awesome!  I highly recommend Intermountain West Contractors!

AIntermountain West Contractors
I have waited until several rains before providing my review. Excellent experience. All of the folks at Intermountain West from the admin staff and owner, to the roofers, and gutter/fascia folks were great to work with. I called for an estimate in early June and they were able to come over just a few days later. John told me about my options, and I settled on TPO/membrance since I have a low pitch roof and have had ice dam/water issues since purchasing the home after a 'flip'. Prices were reasonable and they definitely have a good history on here - so I chose them even though they weren't the cheapest. They were booked out for about a month - and got me in the schedule. When it was time, they called about a week out to let me know the schedule and arrived on the day mentioned about 10 in the morning. They removed the old roof deck materials, took away the debris, and kept my yard generally clean. It was found that I had quite a bit of rot in the wood of my soffets and they worked with me to get an estimate and get the work done within a week so that I wouldn't have water damage if it rained. All it all, a good experience, and i love that they kept me advised to their progress, issues, and recommendations as issues came up (which they always do in an older home). I would definitely choose them again - and recommend them highly.

DRon Case Roofing & Asphalt Paving
After signing the agreement to perform the work, I was told they would probably start in the next 10-14 days.  There was no contact so I called a few times to try and see when my roof was scheduled but got no feedback.  They called one morning in early September to say they would be onsite in 30 minutes but I was out of town.  I needed to move a trailer off the driveway and they said they wanted me there as they started the job so we agreed to postpone until the next week.  I called occasionally after that to see when they would do the job and didn't get a response.  Finally, about 6 weeks later they called to say they were ready to start but I was out of town again so we agreed they would start the following Monday.  On that Monday, no one was on-site by 9 am so I called them to find out what was going on.  They said they didn't have me scheduled so I said we should cancel the contract since it was late October I didn't want to continue to have the job postponed.  They then decided they would start my job that day. I got a call from my Salesman at Ron Case Roofing later that afternoon saying there was problem with my roof deck. He reported that the problem was that the 1/2" plywood was dried out so it wouldn't retain nails and it was springy.  I asked if he meant it was dry-rotted and he said no, it was dried out.  I left work to have them show me the problem.  The Salesman and I went onto the roof.  There was some water staining at the roof edges in places up to 2' into the decking panels at outer edges of the roof and some water damage below the chimney opening but otherwise the decking was in good condition.  The Salesman and one of the roof removal crew would step on edge of deck panel between trusses and note that it would flex with their weight.  They also pried up shingles using their 4' long roofing removal tool and told me that the shingles pried up too easily.  They told me the whole deck should be overlaid with a new deck to solve these problems.  I will note that their cost of replacement decking was $2/square foot which was higher than any other bid I received.  I responded that while the decking was approximately 40 years old, it appeared to be in good condition and that I would expect 1/2" plywood to flex over a 2' span if you stepped in the middle of the edge of the panel.  They said that the deck just wasn't suitable for a new roof in its condition and the second deck would just make everything stiffer.  I agreed it would be stiffer but noted that current building specifications require a single layer of 7/16" OSB allowed on wider spacing so while two layers would be stiffer, the deck is designed for more uniform snow and wind loads, not people creating a loading of 100-200 lbs point loading.  Adding a second deck would add weight and would cost about $6000. I called the Salesman the next morning and said I wanted them to continue with the reroofing project on the existing roof deck.  The Salesman said Ron Case (owner) would personally meet me at my house to show me the problems with my roof deck.  We met at my house later that morning and Ron Case (owner) provided explanations similar to those provided by the Salesman.  I said I was going to get a third party inspector to perform an inspection of the roof deck.  Ron Case employees completed the old roof removal that afternoon (day2). The Inspector came to my house late on the afternoon of Day 2. He said the deck was generally in excellent condition.  He suggested replacing 1.5 panels around the chimney that had been damaged by a leak.  He said the water staining around the edge of the roof was not unusual or severe.  He said the edges were probably serviceable but ultimately recommended replacing a total of 8 half panels (4 full 4x8 panels) around the edges of the roof deck.  I asked about the deck ability to retain shingle nails so he used the same application method proposed by Ron Case (11/2" galvanized nail from nail gun) to attach a shingle to the deck.  We pulled the shingle up (simulating wind) and the shingle tore off at the nailing points.  He had to use a claw hammer to remove the nails.  The decking was sound enough to retain nails and the shingle would tear off from wind before it pulled the nails out of the deck. I made a map of the deck areas I authorized to be replaced and forwarded it to Ron Case company on Day 3 about 9 am.  I made sure the Salesman had a copy of the decking replacement map and he responded that the only way Ron Case Roofing would proceed to reroof over my existing and repaired deck was if I would sign a waiver that said that the roof deck required replacement in their opinion which I didn't accept and suggested I would probably have no warranty from the shingle manufacturer due to the roof deck condition.  I reluctantly signed the waiver. No work occurred on days 3 or 4.  On day 5 (Friday), the crews laid the waterproof membrane but stopped for the evening and called the roof  "raintight" although openings to the chimney and vent pipes were not sealed.  I called Ron Case (owner) to ask about their plans to finish the job since a rainstorm was forecast over next two days.  He said he had been unable to arrange a city inspection of the waterproof membrane installed under the shingles so it would be "raintight" through the weekend. They finished the job later the following week (Days  10-12).  Workmanship was good and no problems to date but I took multiple days off work to resolve these issues about the condition of the roof deck.
