Recent Review: My pool was losing 1" every day, and I suspected a leak somewhere. I asked two companies based on Angie's List to inspect and give me proposals. The other company noticed old cracks that were fixed a few years ago, and immediately assumed that is the source of the leak, and gave me a proposal for re-fixing those cracks and then re-plastering the pool, without really checking that the cracks were really the source of the leak. Ken showed up promptly. While giving me an estimate for doing the same thing--he insisted on having a diver check where the leak was really coming from. I agreed. His diver came in promptly, and found that the leak was NOT coming from the old cracks, which were sealed well. He came several times to see where the leak was coming from (even though charged me for only one leak detection). He finally found that the source of the leak was from the pipe coming from the main drain. Since the main drain valve is typically shut off not to interfere with the pool swipe robot--he recommended to cap that pipe. He did that, and my pool stopped losing water for only $790 (instead of some $6,000 that a whole crack-fixing and re-plastering would have cost). When I'm ready to re-plaster the pool (I guess it's time, as I have the original plaster for 15 years now...)--I will definitely call Ken!
Recent Review: This was our second time building a pool, so we pretty much knew what the whole process was going to entail. We contacted Dolce pools and others based on Angie's List reviews. We choose Dolce, not because of lowest price, but because we could tell from the first time Sam came into our home to discuss our project that this company was up-front and a first-class operation. Sam did an awesome job designing exactly what we envisioned. Tyler Neufeldt was great. Very hands-on and included us on every step on the way. He answered all our texts all times of day/night. The professionals Dolce uses are really, really top-notch. From the excavation, plaster, tile work, stone work, concrete and custom outdoor kitchen contractor, we could not have been more pleased. Definitely the best craftsmen. And Ben, Tyler's project manager was really great and very responsive. We had a complete pool and outdoor living/cooking area in 8 weeks. We could not be more pleased. Very much enjoying our pool and give our highest recommendation to Dolce Pools!

I have used Southern Painting for several painting projects. The quality of the work is exceptional, the painters take the time to properly prepare for painting and do take all the appropriate precautions with moving and covering furniture. They provided me with poster board samples of the colors I was interested in and provided expert guidance in my color selections. I am extremely pleased with the work they did for me.

They were fine and I had a good experience. They were exactly what I found on Angie?s list. He was professional, and he brought all the materials that he needed with him. I have recommended him to others as well.

We just bought a house and, with it, acquired a 36 thousand gallon, 16 year old in-ground gunite pool and spa in need of some serious TLC. We took similar bids from three companies we found on Angie’s list (each rated and recommended highly). We decided to hire Wylie Plastering, LLC after meeting with their representative, Rene King. Rene’s straight forward, knowledgeable and professional approach won us over at the ‘get-go’. Rene listed the different options of plaster available, explaining the pros and cons of each in a very unbiased and informative manner. We picked the sparkle quartz plaster. We also requested that Wylie Plaster repair the old/worn out deco-seal between the deck and coping around our pool. The different crews needed to complete the job came out as scheduled and completed each of their tasks (under the scorching Texas summer weather we had this year) in a thorough, clean, timely manner. Even after all work was completed Rene has been very accessible and helpful in answering any/all our questions on how to preserve the life of our beautiful new pool plaster. We would absolutely recommend Wylie Plastering LLC to anyone looking for excellent, fast yet thorough, knowledgeable professional service and support.

FClassic Tile & Plaster
Quoted a Plaster renovation for our pool. Chipped old Plaster, and then laid new plaster. Water Return Jets,. replacements were cheap and did not have the "Eyeball" units that were installed. The just did a poor job.

The old, ugly outdated tile on my pool was falling off, and the plaster was ugly and stained and starting to separate, so it was time to finally replace it all. The pool repair technician that I have always used (from another company) who has always been honest and saved me a lot of money in the past recommended ASP for the tile and plaster job. I had also used ASP once before to diagnose a pool leak, and their guys fix it for just under $200, so between my prior experience and the technician's recommendation I called ASP. The quote came in very close to what the repair guy estimated it might be, so I had them start on it. It was a more expensive job than typical due to the abnormally large amount of tile in the pool. The owner Herschel met me and my wife at a tile place to pick out the tile, and then he used a subcontractor to demo and replace the tile. The tile guys did a great job on it installed all the tiles perfectly straight and flat and according to plan. Before he started the plaster he discovered that the plaster was separating from the base because it had been laid over a painted base and was not adhering well, so he had to do the extra step of demolishing the old plaster before pumping in the new plaster (additional cost) as opposed to laying the new plaster on top of the old plaster. Next he had a truck pump the plaster in, filled it up, and began a multi day startup process of brushing the sediment off the plaster and balancing the chemicals while the plaster cured. We ended up with a couple of stains in the plaster at first, but he knocked it out with a combination of an eraser-like attachment on a pole and some chemical treatment. Herschel and his technicians were all friendly and professional and pleasant to deal with. The pool looks so much more modern and inviting than before!

They came to perform plaster repair and paint where I had damaged walls. They were prompt, extremely courteous, professional, neat as a pin, efficient and the finished product is perfect. They did not exceed the estimate either. I have asked them to come back to give me estimates on several other projects in my house.
Great! They are a nice group of guys. The carpentry on the island is beautiful. It was all high quality work from the plaster repairs, painting and back splash to the prep work and clean up. I would definitely hire them again! They were also very reasonable and the estimate won points with my husband because it was all itemized unlike 2 other estimates we received.

They didn't charge any more. They were supposed to get back to me with some estimates and they never followed up. The work they did was great.
