Recent Review: After delaying my installation 4 different times, the work crew showed up and the lead installer (John) told me that my yard was not leveled and that the granite would end up being carried away by rain.  I had not been informed of this issue  by the sales person prior to the installation date and since it had been moved several times already, I referred to my neighbor,  Rolando Balli, who owns Austin Stonescapes.  His crew had a break that morning so he came over to understand what needed to be done, and fortunately, they were able to build a retaining wall that morning (it's beautiful!). I was frustrated that I found out about this issue the morning of installation. Had my neighbor not been available that morning, we would have had to delay it again. Over the next several days, the crew came and went without informing me about the schedule.  Apparently they were fitting me in with another job so they were switching between the two jobs. John, the lead installer often sat on my back patio (which is directly outside my living room window), smoked and had several angry conversations with someone. This made me very uncomfortable and I let the sales manager know. The work done on my lawn was poor. This company hires workers, not craftsman. I have many pictures of edges that look like a young child cut them, They also chose to put a major seam right out my back window where I see it every time I look at it.  There were better options for where they placed that seam.  I love having the turf in my back yard. It was a great decision but every day I look out my back window, I am reminded of the horrible job this company did with my yard. I DO NOT recommend them.  Contact me at magaus@mail.com if you would like to see the pictures.

Recent Review: Great service. Austin (owner and operator) showed up to my home, provided me with an array of syntehetic grass types to choose from at a price 30%-40% below those companies who install for Home Depot and Lowes, which I verified. Why? Becuase those companies have rediculous mark-ups and cover unnecessary overhead. Limitless is a small local business who use an experienced crew and focus on service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

Recent Review: I contacted Southwest Greens in August 2011 to secure a quote for artificial turf in my back yard.  I had previously spoken to another well known company in this area and was displeased by their customer service.  After some searching I found Brent's website online and am so glad I did!  I gave him a call to discuss my backyard renovation project and schedule an appointment for an onsite quote.  Brent came out the next day and gave me a quote that was on par with my expectations.  He was willing to work around my schedule and invited me to view a few completed jobs so I could see the final product before my purchase.  I opted to go with a lush, green, high pile turf that looks positively fantastic once installed.  My timeline for the project was rigid and my window of availability was very narrow due to construction timelines, but Brent made miracles happen and installed the turf on the one day (literally) I had available.  The whole process only took a few hours.  They began by compacting decomposed granite for a flat/event surface.  Next they laid the grass like carpet and staked it to the ground.  Finally, they swept silca into the grass so they blades stand erect.  The end result is just gorgeous.  People comment all the time on how beautiful my lawn looks and are genuinely surprised when I tell them it's artificial turf.  I couldn't be more pleased.  Thanks, Brent!

Recent Review: From start to finish, this was the easiest transaction. Chris gave us a quote based on the dimensions of our terrace that we provided.  He came out to see the site and revised a lower quote.  Installation was done days later and was completed within 3 hours.  The crew was polite, efficient and clean.  We are so pleased to have our little "yard in the sky" and our dogs love it.

FLimitless Landscaping
This is the letter I wrote to Limitless Landscapes which spells it out well.  Also, he told me to correct the installation with the weed blocker it would be $2500 more.  Austin and Cody, I have researched extensively everything about artificial grass.  I have called installers, manufacturers, and some experts of artificial grass.  When you were here we tried to give you our research so you could see what we were basing our concerns from.  You would not even look at what we had.  If you had, you would have been able to explain why we are having this extensive weed problem.  A problem that you said could not happen.  If you remember, Austin, my contractor, Rusty Bolf, was with us and you told him the same thing.  We have only had the grass for 7 weeks and have a large amount of weeds throughout the turf, not just on the sides.  You have been out 4 times to try and fix the installation and yet you have called us ridiculous.   Austin told me he had never seen this type of problem before.  And yet, when both of you were here, Austin said that you never say weeds won't come up to a customer.  You are offering to spray for weeds every 30 days for the next 3 years.  This is chemicals which you advertise, and you have told us as one of the selling features, that we will never need to use pesticides or fertilizers.  Your customer service skills were limited when you were here.  You are more concerned with getting final payment than actually fixing the obvious problem from the installation, even though it is heavily documented that if weeds come up through the turf, then there is a problem with the installation.  Austin himself said he would dig deeper in our backyard than he did in the front.  Also, all of the turf manufacturers state a weed barrier should be placed, either under the granite or on top of the granite mix.  And it needs to be excavated below the weed root line.          When you were there you said your turf does not need a weed barrier so I contacted your supplier, Global Turf. I spoke with their representative and they provided me with documentation on how their turf should be installed.  They do require a 10 year weed barrier  under the turf and above the granite.  They also require 4 inches of digging - 2 inches of granite and 2 inches of drain rock.  Here's the  big problem - Global Turf will not replace the artificial grass if the installation was not done properly.  So right now, I have an  improperly installed artificial grass, and therefore my turf warranty is invalid.   I have contacted 2 attorneys who have advised me to put the remaining money in a separate account, and I have done that.  They also counseled that I should use the money in the account to fix the problem.   I have the option of paying you to fix the installation or have a professional fix the installation.  After the lies and accusations, not to mention the unprofessionalism of both of you, and evidently of your crew, and also the constant problem of getting you out here each time, I can't see allowing you to ever do anything for me again.  Instead of owning up to the problem with the installation, you chose to say to my family and to me, that we were just emotional because my husband passed away. How professional was that? How pertinent to the problem was that?   This was supposed to be a 2 day job. On May 7th you sent an invoice saying you would start on May 19th at the latest. On May 12th  Austin called and said they couldn't start until May 26th.  On May 26th and on the 27th you just didn't show up and didn't answer your  phone.  On May 31st you started the job and it wasn't completed until June 6th, 7 days later.  The reasons you gave us was 1) you had  to reorder the grass because it accidentally didn't get ordered, 2) then you said the grass company sent the wrong grass, and 3) then  the truck wrecked and ruined the grass.  The bottom line is I paid on May 19th and the grass wasn't put down for 3 weeks. At this point I am hiring a professional artificial grass installer to fix the installation to specifications of Global Turf.  I will provide you with the estimate.  If it goes over what I have in the account, I will send you a bill.  I have never in my life sued anyone, but if anyone deserves it, it is you.  You lied to me regarding the product, the installation, etc . and then made my family and me feel we were in the wrong and you obviously cut corners. I was rooting for you because I am a huge believer in buying locally and supporting businesses in the chamber of commerce.  You do  not belong in the chamber.  I am so disappointed that we have someone in our wonderful community that would rather rip someone off than provide a good product with good, honest service.

FGeoscapes of Texas Inc
We used Geoscapes for a large landscaping project and installation of an irrigation system. They promptly sent a salesman out to review our ideas and then drew a plan for us. The salesman did a good job. He was never the most punctual person, often as much as two hours late for a scheduled meeting and usually didn't call to let us know he would be late. He was however, very punctual when it came time to pick up a check. The project supervisor was rude and short. Except for an initial introduction from the salesman, he never spoke to me again. Never inquired how the job was going or what we thought about the work. This job took about two weeks total. He showed up twice and the only reason for those visits was reprimand the crew for taking to long on my job. The crew was to install grass, granite paths, planting bed, plants and the irrigation system. They started with the paths, installing and tamping down the decomposed granite. Then they realized that the irrigation system would have to cross the paths so they dug up the paths and trenched for the irrigation system. Other than that, the landscape side of the job went pretty well. The irrigation system is another story. There is no rhyme or reason to the arrangement of the zones....They installed zones that water both turf grass and xeroscaped beds so we have to completely overwater the xeroscaped areas or underwater the grass. The worst part was when we asked for some of the work to be redone. We couldn't get the owner to return phone calls. This went on for about 2-3 weeks. I left about ten messages about the work but no call back. Finally I had my partner call the owner's cell phone from a third number and claim to be a potential new customer. That call he returned. After reviewing our situation, he agreed to send a crew out and repair the work. This was a high stress company to work with. We've since moved on to another landscape company for more work. When we are complemented about our yard or asked for a referral, we always provide then name of the new company. I will not work with Geoscapes again and a number of my neighbors have had similar experiences and won't use them again either.

AJavier’s Landscaping & Lawn Care
I met with Javier back in March and we went over what I was looking for.  He made several recommendation upfront and set expectation well as to when he could deliver his services; and deliver he did. Javier did a great job in updating the landscaping which really brought out the best in the property.  Along the way, he hand picked plants for the flower bed and transformed the yard so much so that I've already had several of the neighbors asking for his number. Javier is not the cheapest guy in town however if your  into Quality at a fair price then inquire within.

AThe Grass Patch Inc
The dirt arrived late in the day, which worked out with my work schedule. I was able to distribute the sandy loam throughout our front yard before sundown. The dirt was fairly clean with only a few sticks in it. The pallets of grass were delivered during the day. When I arrived home from work, it was in fairly good condition. It was fresh and green. I would say about 95 percent of the grass was well cut. 5 percent was so badly cut, it was thrown away. It has been three weeks since the planting. Our yard looks so good, neighbors are saying it looks like visiting a park.

FBALCONES LANDSCAPING LLC
This project was a complete disaster.  The responsiveness was horrible, and there were always excuses and lies about why they couldn't make an appointment.  Also if they did come on the day they were supposed to come, they would come very late.  Of the many problems, they went ahead an removed all the turf without ordering the replacement turf.  So, my backyard, was without grass for at least 4 months.  At the same time, my backyard has a septic field, so since there was no grass to absorb the water, my entire backyard was a mud pit for 4 months.  When they did get the turf installed, the mud was so thick and slippery that a large portion of the turf didn't even root, and the crushed rock path they made for my boat just sunk into the mud.  The stone area they made had no accommodations for drainage, so it floods pretty much every time it rains.  I just had to pay $1,200 to have that fixed.  Similarly, the irrigation system has been a disaster ever since those guys touched it.   Keep in mind that through this entire process we had regular bouts of scheduled appointments being entirely blown off and then followed up with exotic excuses as to why they were missed.  It would take at least 4 attempts at an appointment to have one materialize. I actually went ahead and filed a law suit against this company, but I got tired of spending bad energy and money messing around with them.   This is by far the worst vendor in the City across all categories.

AFrancisco Amesquita
Francisco came out to look at project, talk with me and then gave a quote.  He is helpful and flexible. His quotes are good and competitive. Sometimes, he does the work right then; other times, he will come back in a couple of days.  This is usually dependent on the project.  I have been happy with his work.  He pays attention to the details.  We discuss what is needed for maintenance, too. I am ready to call Francisco again for my next project.

AGreen Earth Landscapes
I had a wonderful experience using Jason. He was very responsive, super professional and completed all the work and then some. We just LOVE our yard. When he first came out to talk about what to do, I had my own ideas, but I liked how he suggested better ways to do things. During the process I added on some tasks and quickly adjusted the schedule to accommodate me. For example, our irrigation system was so old and outdated and hard to use. He went and purchased a new system, installed it and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. I also really love the drip system that was installed for our plants. Such a smart and efficient way of watering! I wouldn't have thought of that! Another task I added on was cleaning up the area around my husband's shed. I'm so glad I took his suggestion with the materials to use. The yard wouldn't have looked as good if I didn't do something with the shed area. I will be hiring Jason again to do future projects. Also, it is VERY hard to impress my husband and he was so surprised. The best part, my husband and kids were out of town when the work was being done and Jason finished the job right before they came home to surprise them! It was awesome! Thanks again and I look forward to future projects!
