Recent Review: Although the initial request for a bid went slowly, the bid we eventually received from Alex Blaker was quite competitive compared to others we have received in the past. We needed the work to be completed by the end of November, which gave them a rather short timeframe for doing the work. As part of preparation for the painting, the house was power-washed, and exterior siding that was damaged was replaced and caulked. Some old caulk around the garage doors, which had been poorly applied, was also stripped and replaced. The crews were very efficient and competent. It was obvious that they have worked as a team for a long time?they were in sync with each other, worked quickly and smoothly, without having to speak very much. The window installation process went very smoothly. John, the installer, is impressive! His work is very precise and we are very happy with the results. John made sure to cover surface areas in the house while working and cleaned up at the end of the day. He made sure his presence was not disruptive and was professional in every way. Overall, we are very happy with the results. Alex Blaker, the owner, was very attentive to our requests, and went out of his way to make sure that we would be satisfied. The November deadline could not be met due to the extreme weather in Austin, but Alex worked on some very cold days and over the weekend to make sure that the work would be completed as quickly as possible. Update on February 24, 2015: A few months after the installation was completed, we discovered that one of the screens was damaged and needed to be replaced. We brought this to Alex's attention, and he said he would get to it right away. We have since called or texted 3-4 times to follow-up, but still don't have a replacement. In January, Alex told us there had been a problem and the screen was not shipped by the manufacturer, but it would arrive by January 21. It's now February 24, and still no word from him. This is disappointing, after the initial high quality customer service that we experienced.
