Reviews in Keller for Sunroom Builders

FChampion Windows and Home Exteriors of Dallas/Ft. Worth
I contacted this company on 3/2/09 and no one returned a call. A second call was made on 3/16/09 and a salesman finally returned my call on 3/25/09 and agreed to meet to provide an estimate on 3/31/09. I did not hear from him again until 4/13/09. When he returned with the estimate he requested a $10,000 deposit for the job and confirmed it would take 4-6 weeks to complete the job. I informed him I had a backyard event planned for Fathers Day weekend (9 wks away) and he assured me it would be complete before then. I paid the $10,000 deposit and waited for them to start. They did not start building my sunroom until 6/4/09. During the Fathers Day event everyone had to walk around the yard and step over piles of supplies, dirt etc. Again I informed Champion that I had another event on 7/4 weekend and again they assured me it would be finished. IT WASN'T. On 7/4 the roofer showed up with his dog who he let run amuck in my yard. He defacated by the pool and by the back door. When I asked him to remove the dog from my property he became beligerant and yelled at me and called Champion to tell them he was leaving and he did. The next day he returned to finish the roof and brought the dog with him again. The roof continued to leak and the roofer made several other trips to "patch" his work. The stained concrete I had installed in the sunroom was ruined from the standing water and leaks but Champion refused to pay to have it fixed. The roofer returned 5 more times and did not fix the leak until late August. Champion hounded me to death for the remainder of the payment which I refused to make until the roof was fixed and David Lopez President threatened to place a mechanics lean on my property. I filed a complaint with the BBB and fought with them for weeks about the leaking roof. After they finally fixed the roof I paid the balance in full. Then I spent hours picking up trash, nails (one ended up in my car tire), leftover materials etc. and they broke my wooden gate going into the backyard they never fixed. There are many other options for this type of service so stay as far away from this one as possible.

Everything turned out really well, the only issue I had was with their electrician's lack of punctuality.  However, the project manager Terry is aware of the issue and is addressing it with the electrician.  The sunroom looks great.

Randy Nelson exceded our expectations. He was very timely and his quaility of work was exeptional. He fine tuned our design to make the room even more grand. I highly recommend Sharkey Construction for any remodel or new home build.

They installed a new sunroom but used inferior windows. It?s getting up to 110 degrees in the sunroom and when I called them back they said that there was nothing that they could do.

The men were very friendly and explained everything they did.  They cleaned the top of my sunroom, pulled the old silicone caulk, and applied new silicone.  The majority of the leaks in the ceiling cleared up after that.

CTrue Home Value
The sales process was high pressure and the salemen pushed back on some of the ideas we had on what we wanted. When we wanted to back out due to these issues (normal buyers remorse), they sent out the "enforcer" to ensure we didn't back out. This gentleman was insulting to my wife (a PhD) and I, using tactics of trying to embarrass us for wanting to back out, then pointing out our failure as educated people to read the gray fine print on the back of the form about cancelling, and then calculating the extremely high cost to cancel. Overall -- an extremely high pressure and somewhat questionable process. Once we knew we were locked in, it took forever for them to start the construction, even though we had a tight schedule due to our business travel issues. Once we got rolling, Darren in operations was usually OK to work with, but it was still a long, somewhat painful process to get the entire project finished. We are still finding out residual issues, such as apparently improper permits with the city (University City) and failure to close out the inspections now that we are trying to sell the house. Our roof near the chimney still leaks, and the new roof over the garage is already sagging in spots. Although we love the sunroom (it became our favorite room in the house) and the installers did a fairly good job building it, we think it was probably not worth the frustration of using Thomas. UPDATE:9/21/2010. Darren Reagan in operations has been super. We have been trying to sell the house (the sunroom is actually a feature almost all the lookers like), and he and his team have been out twice to find and repair the pesky roof leak. I have confidence that they will eventually fix it. Thanks Darren!

DFour Seasons Sunrooms Dallas
Ten years ago, my late husband and I had Four Seasons Sunroom install a sunroom for us. The fact that this happened ten years ago illustrates how the experience of working with Four Seasons Sunrooms was so negative that time has not erased the feelings of injustice. We were especially vulnerable when we purchased a Four Seasons sunroom as my husband was battling cancer at the time. The porch was supposed to add a little joy to his life despite the pain of cancer. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be an enhancement to our lives turned out to be a never ending source of stress. The salesman we met at the beginning sold us a dream, not a sunporch. He was good at selling us a dream, having us contemplate how we wanted to use the sunporch (drinking coffee in the morning, enjoying the scenery, picking out what kinds of features the porch will have, etc) and he was good at getting us to put money down. The purchasing part of doing business with Four Seasons Sunrooms was the easiest part of the process. Four Seasons Sunrooms makes lots of promises with no follow through as we soon enough learned through the entire construction process. The porch took months to complete when we were promised a timeline of weeks. There were many times that crew members were supposed to be at our house to work on the sunroom and never showed. Or they were supposed to be at our home in the morning but didn't arrive until late afternoon. No explanations were ever given except for one time when we asked why hadn't anybody shown up for work at our home and one of the crew members said to us, and quot;Because I had to help a friend move.and quot; Because we were dealing with cancer at the time, many of our days were filled with chemo or radiation or doctor appointments. It was frustrating to set aside days to have our dream porch built, on occasion rescheduling a doctor appointment, only to be stood up by Four Seasons Sunrooms. We felt like prisoners in our own home. As the months rolled on, my husband's condition continued to deteriorate. Perhaps Four Seasons Sunrooms could sense that the two of us weren't going to put up much of a fight because we already had our hands full with a different battle. Besides the unprofessionalism of the crew, we also had to endure purchasing a product that never performed as promised. From the very beginning, the porch leaked. When it rained, it even dripped through the light fixture. They (Four Seasons) were called to fix it. They and quot;repairedand quot; it but it did not fix the problem and in fact, they tried to put the blame on me by saying I needed to keep leaves swept off the roof and that the rest of the problem was due to normal condensation. He basically told us there was nothing else he could do except to extend our warranty by a few months. What good is an extended warranty when you are already told nothing can be done? And by the way, leaves are kept swept off the roof and it still leaks. And it is not normal condensation. The leaks pour through the ceiling and out of the skylights. The leaks have ruined furniture and the carpeting. I have had numerous handymen try to repair it too, all to no avail. Ten years later, the sunroom is basically a sad reminder of a lot of money spent and frustration added on top. I would have pursued more aggressively back then but honestly, I was overwhelmed with my husband's illness and then I was overwhelmed by grief after he passed away. Please educate yourself about this company before getting into a contract with them.

Recent Review: Rob showed up on time and went over what we wanted to do and was very receptive to our ideas. He was the only contractor that returned with an estimate. He called and asked to sit down with us to show what his ideas were and to explain his estimate. He had some excellent ideas that we incorporated in to the plan and he again was very receptive to our plans. We accepted his proposal and he came to our house with the contract and was very patient with our questions and concerns. He estimated the job would be finished by Thanksgiving but the final end date was 01/25/2014. The delay was not his fault as the weather did not cooperate and was either too wet or too cold for whatever was scheduled. There were several times he came all the way from Keller to southwest  Ft. Worth to talk with us when he could have called much easier than driving all that way. He never avoided any questions or comments we made. His work crews were on time and neat. They cleaned up after themselves even to the extent of their lunch trash. The scrap lumber was hauled off or cleaned after each days work. We will definitely use Rob in the future and plan on remodeling our kitchen some time in the not too distant future and will call on his expertise to do the job.

Recent Review: This is another project Don has hit it out of the ballpark with. He builds solid quality cabinetry and is an honest professional businessman. His cabinetry and built ins add a lot of high end customization to our home. Every time Don wraps up a project I try to figure out what I can have him come back and build next time. His installers are detail oriented and also do quality work.

Business Description: Please call us at 817-600-5700. Advice: In this day and age, some people think using an app to contact a contractor for the first conversation is the way to do business, however if you’re more than just curious about a price, If you’re serious about a high quality project, you need to call us, not a text, which may be basically ignored due to the quantity of interest. If you want to be taken seriously, you must communicate via phone. We are busy, and booked out several months in advance. The reason why I started my business in 1998 was due to the lack of good communication with the typical contractor I believe in creating a great plan, covering all the details we could possibly think of and detailing all that in line item pricing. Kitchens and bathrooms is my passion. I like projects that make people happy and appreciate all the money they spent enjoying their time where they spend the most time. We need you to do your part to communicate the items you are shopping for. Help us, help you detail your vision, so you know you will get what you're dreaming of. All of the work will be practically perfect. Tell me what you want to your specifications and I’m sure it’s possible. I’m a big fan of details. Residential and Commercial remodeling since 1998. Over 33 years of total experience since 1982. Everything from the small handyman jobs to whole house remodel or commercial build out. Your on-site Contractor/Master Craftsman is also a certified building inspector so you will be sure to get everything to code standards or better. Integrity and Honesty being our number one priority we always do what we say what we will do and put it all in writing too. It's safe to say we always show up to our appointments and the everyday work. Consistent, reliable, meticulous both in service and quality craftsmanship. Veteran owned & operated. Thank you. If you are looking for the cheapest contractor, I’m sure we are not it. -Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical subcontracted.
