Drafty windows and a rotted window sill initiated this exterior remodel project. We first contracted RPM based on a recommendation from a neighbor, high ratings on Angie's List and the BBB plus the high quality of the interior work they did at our house. This project became bigger than we initially thought, but only because we didn't realize how many things were in need of repair and how they were all connected. In fact,on our initial home inspection, most everything we had worked on now was listed in that inspection. But as first time homeowners, we had a lot to learn. Chad, the owner of RPM, really educated us on our home and the benefits and consequences of proper and poor ventilation and insulation. He graciously and patiently answered all of our MANY questions as we sought to grasp a better understanding of every aspect of the project. Chad offered his professional opinion when we requested or when he thought it was necessary in order to make us aware of all options/possibilities/etc. Because Chad is so thorough with his explanations, we trusted him. He always seemed to be looking out for our good. The exterior work progressed at a good pace, despite many rain days. Our house was never left unprotected from the elements as they worked their way around the house tearing off all the old siding and windows in manageable sections. The siding was torn off all the way down to the studs and original insulation. They filled in areas were the insulation was missing (corners, around plumbing, etc). We would never have known there was insulation missing but Chad knew and took care of it because he goes above and beyond expectations. We also chose to insulate our house with additional rigid foam - an extra energy saving method without much extra cost. Based on our own research of windows, we chose MI new construction, vinyl windows. After a few windows were installed we realized the windows were not the ones we ordered. When I called Chad after hours a bit panicked about the mix up, he stayed calm and assured me it would be fixed. Then spent the entire next day sorting out what happened - which turned out to be an error on the part of the manufacturer. We are please with the quality of the windows but do not recommend using MI Windows based solely on customer service. I would recommend going with the windows RPM recommends. We LOVE having new windows - very worth the cost. A few additional projects were added on during the course of the exterior work (Ridgevent, gutters, extra insulation, new outside door off garage). Chad's prices were very reasonable both as part of the original bid as well as the add-on work. All the RPM workers arrived each day on time, worked hard, were respectful of our property, friendly to our family, and took pride in their work. I felt comfortable having them there each day during the project even when I was not home. I highly recommend Chad and his RPM team. Chad stands behind his work 100% and sets his expectations.
