AWilcoxen Plumbing
I met Lawrence at a small office building I own to check out a non-working sewage pump.  Lawrence did arrive a little late to my appointment because his prior appointment took longer than expected.  Lawrence removed the pump and I took it in to a shop in Austin to see if it could be repaired.  It turned out that the pump was not worth repairing.  I purchased a replacement pump and brought it out to my building for Lawrence to install.  The installation went fine and the new pump is now working away.  Lawrence and his helper did a good job and I will use him in the future.

Very professional and prompt.  They replaced our sewage pump and did a great job with it.  They arrived on time and completed the project promptly.  I had a question the next day and they called back right away.

AExcalibur Plumbing
We've used Excalibur on three occasions and, without exception, the results have been excellent. My only continuing concern is with the cost of services. Excalibur responded to my call in a timely fashion and Louie came out and quickly diagnosed the problem and gave us options for both repair and replacement. Since the unit was 10 years old we elected to go the replacement route. All work was completed in just a few hours and was done with considerable attention to detail. Louie was very professional and answered all my questions about the sewage pump and associated equipment as well as questions about our water softener. This is a first-rate plumbing company and, again, my only hesitation to give A marks across the board is the cost consideration.

AAll Cen Tex / Cen Tex Septic & Vacuum Pumping
The septic overflow alarm went off and when I opened it up to look I saw that the pump had obviously stopped working. I called around 10:30 am and they squeezed me in that day with an ETA of 2:00 pm. The guys showed up a few hours later than expected, but of course you can't expect them to perfectly predict how long each job will take so I have no issue with that at all. The guys were exceptionally polite, professional, and efficient. They got right to work and did a very thorough job of cleaning out all of the tanks. Next they took logical and efficient steps to identify exactly what the problem was and was not. As I expected, the septic pump was bad after 11 yrs of use so they replaced it with a new one and had me up and running that day. They even took the extra time and effort to fix some problems that were obviously caused by poor workmanship from whoever did the original installation 11 yrs ago. They clearly communicated everything they were doing throughout the process and what they recommended we do to fix it. The price for everything was very reasonable and competitive. Most importantly, these guys knew what they were doing and took pride in their work. I would absolutley call them for any future issues!

AAqua Pump & Well Service Inc
We woke up on Monday morning with no water. I called several well service companies in the area who either didn't answer or couldn't get to us for several days. I called Aqua Pump and the Service manager answered my call. He listened to the issue and said he would shuffle his appointments around. He arrived within two hours and spent an hour and a half diagnosing the issue and answering all of my questions. Very courteous. Very professional. His analysis was that we needed a new pump. I was provided a detailed estimate with a couple of optional but reasonable recommended additions. We were scheduled for the work the following morning at 9 AM. Tuesday morning they arrived on time and got straight to work. Throughout the project I watched and asked questions and the Service Manager was patient and answered my questions fully. 7 1/2 hours later the job was complete, the area cleaner than they found it and the bill was less than the estimate. Throughout the day they did not stop once until the job was complete. All in all a great experience. I would highly recommend this service company and will not hesitate to use them again in the future.

FExcalibur Plumbing
I called the guys at Excalibur to have a drain moved during our bathroom remodel. Initially my regular plumber was going to do the work but he came down with the flu. I called Excalibur after seeing their good rating on Angie's List.  When I called I explained that my bathtub was being delivered Wednesday and that I needed the drain moved and tub installed on Thursday. The gentleman arrived earlier than expected (which was good) and after going over the details said "if you accept our bid we will get you on the schedule to have the work done." I explained to him that I had told the gentleman when I called that I needed the work done Thursday - not bid out. He called into the office and they moved his appointments so that he could do the work. He explained that it was very labor intensive and that we would probably have to move floor joists to get the drain positioned. He gave me a price, I agreed, and he began the work. He didn't have the materials needed so he went back to the office. Around an hour later he went to work, only to realize he still didn't have the parts he needed. He left briefly to purchase additional supplies and returned. All-in-all he was here around 2 1/2 to 3 hours (including the time he left to purchase additional supplies).  The next day I began to think about what I paid and realized I paid the equivalent of $200+/hour for the work. I called and spoke to Chant. I explained that the work wasn't exactly what he thought it was going to be and that the scope of work would have cost me around $125 to $150/hour with my regular plumber. His response was that I should have called my plumber. At that point, I asked to speak with Blake. Blake was very apologetic and explained that they charged a flat fee so if the work takes 2 hours or 2 days the customer has peace of mind regarding price. This is a great pricing strategy unless you have a small job or a job that turns out to be much easier than anticipated. In that case, you get stuck paying twice of what you would have elsewhere. In all fairness to Blake, he agreed to adjust the rate and apologized for the problems. I appreciated his willingness to fix the situation. Today I called Excalibur again because my Sewer Pump was having issues. The pump company specifically asked if I had had any plumbing done lately. I explained about the drain being moved and they advised I call the company to have them come out. I called this morning around 8:30 because a pump with issues in a serious problem. I spoke with Blake and he explained that he wasn't sure whether something happened during the install or if the pump coincidentally started having problems the day after they were out but he would send someone to check it out. He gave me a window of 12 to 4 but said it would be closer to noon. At 3:15 my husband called and they said the plumber was on his way. As it stands now, it is 5:00 pm and the guy never showed and no one called to say they weren't coming. I have made arrangements with another plumber to come out early tomorrow and I pray nothing happens with the sewer pump between now and then. I believe that Blake and his crew must have decided he would rather have a bad review on Angie's List than deal with me. I have never in my life had a problem with a company until Excalibur and it pains me to write this review. I really wanted things to work out with them after the initial slip up. I had planned for them to install my bath tub and now I find myself in the position of having to find someone else. Upon more detailed inspection of their reviews I see the good reviews were in regards to flushes and other basic plumbing. Perhaps I should have read a little more before asking them to take on this project.

APure Plumbing Service
We live on a hill and have a sewage lift station, which is basically a small septic holding tank with a grinder/pump that discharges into the pressurized city sewer pipe. The pump had failed intermittently for a few weeks, and finally went out on a Friday night. The pump and quot;storeand quot; is closed on the weekend, so I rigged up a cheapo sewage pump from Lowes for the weekend. (So I got quite familiar with how the system works.) Called my regular plumber Monday morning, and they were busy until Tuesday afternoon! So based on the equipment supplier GP Equipment, I called Pure Plumbing, even though they have a non-A rating. They had a reasonable and quot;show upand quot; charge, and they came about mid-day. Meanwhile, I visited the pump supply store to get educated on how the system works and what I should replace. Mark from Pure Plumbing quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty relay, a relatively simple repair. Of course I'd messed up a lot of the plumbing to install the temporary pump, so reassembly was a bit of work. Since the pump was 15 year old, I decided to replace it while the pro was here putting things together. Mark did NOT try to up sell me on the replacement, but said he would put it together the right way. Everything went great. They finished about the time promised, and they wanted to make all the and quot;modernand quot; enhancements that the equipment supplier had explained. I was very pleased that they handled the plumbing, the electric controls, and did everything the right way. Certainly not the cheapest, but after 2 days without sewage, we were happy to pay any price. I am quite pleased with the quality of work and willingness to explain everything. I even had them add a relay to connect the failure alarm to my security system.

ABIG HORN WATER WELLS INC
I discovered late on a Sunday that I had no water pressure.  I can perform basic debugging on my well having done some work on it myself, but I could not restore operation.  I called Big Horn Water Wells first thing on Monday morning.  They had a crew at my house by 9AM and they quickly determined that the well pump was drawing too much current that it was tripping the protection in the well controller.  They had a crane on the truck and pulled the pump determining that the internal impeller shaft was sheered in half.  Within hours they had a replacement pump at my house and had the water pump system working perfectly by the end of the day.  The two man crew was very courteous and knowledgeable.  They were also not pushy and let me make decisions based on information they provided.  I had a similar problem a year before and I also used Big Horn at that time because they were able to come to my house the same day.  In that case, they replaced a defective well controller and also installed additional protection to prevent my well from pumping dry.  I highly recommend this company.

AWALTERS PLUMBING INC
It's Thanksgiving Day, living in the hills of Lago Vista is a relaxing thing. However, in order to move sewage out to the city sewer system, you may have to use a pump to overcome the pressure in the city system due to the drop in elevation. This is information I learned only after I bought my house. Note: If you are buying a house and it has a grinder pump, make sure that you get the extra coverage, because it is not covered under the standard 1 year house warranty and it will have a tendency to fail at a higher frequency than your air conditioner and the cost of replacement is comparable. Yesterday, I had Walters Plumbing come out and investigate the strange noises coming out from under the cover of the pump housing. It was clear that the pump was not working correctly (it had split electrical wiring, probable water leakage into the electrical controller, and the float switch was not working reliably) and was on it's last legs. I had Josh give me an estimate and I had planned to get several more before I replaced it. I spent several hours on the internet looking up information about grinder pumps and installation. The bottom line is that the replacement pump would cost at least $1700.00 without installation and it was also clear that replacement with a similar pump would result in the investment of an additional $2500 dollars every 4 or 5 years. Josh gave me two options, to replace the existing pump with a similar pump with all of the electrical controls internal for about $2500 dollars or upgrade to pump that had the electronic controls outside of the pump on a outside panel for about $1000 dollars more. The advantage is that a failure of an electrical component does not require replacement of the entire pump. Theoretically, this will extend the life of the pump to double the life of the other type. When I called, Josh was willing to come out on Thanksgiving. He charged me the bid price with no overtime charges. He came totally prepared, he had a fully stocked truck. He clearly knows the Lago Vista area housing codes and was able to answer questions about the installation and why he was using the brand and type of pump that was installed. The work was performed carefully and professionally. I can't vouch that I got the lowest price, but I am absolutely convinced that I got the best person to do the job. I will use this company for any future plumbing work that I have. They have a lifetime customer. I recommend them highly.

ATexan Water
We had no water coming from the well. Brice came out quickly and resolved the problem in a short period of time. He also helped us get a good understanding of how the system works and why we had the problem (too much demand). The pump wasn't pumping because the 'pump saver' was doing its job, protecting the well pump from pumping dry. Their calm and professional support was so helpful to reducing a stressful event.

Recent Review: In spite or torrential rains in the morning, Bill still made it out within about 4 hours of making contact with him. He was able to fix a failed pump switch and drain the black tank while he was there. Super nice guy to deal with. I was really looking for a smaller full-ervice provider and appreciated dealing directly with the owner who came out and take care of the job. I'd highly recommend Bill and definitely call him the next time that I need septic repair.
