Beware of these people! Remodeling horror story x2. i wish I could give them a lower rating! These are the only contractors I’ve ever used that I immediately changed my locks when I fired them so they couldn’t take anything else that didn’t belong to them. YH&R stands for Yared (or "Your" on HA) House Cleaning & Remodeling Solution, a Bexar County dba for Sandor Gonzalez and his girlfriend, Bianca Yanez , who between them have about 8 aliases they go by. I found all of that out only after I had paid them for remodeling 1 house, and they began remodeling a 2nd. Based on a mistakenly good reference from a relative, I hired Bianca & Sandor to renovate a house we had inherited in San Antonio. They had a good rating with Home Adviser, who’s seal she posts to all of her invoices, and he is a licensed home remodeler. She claims “elite service” status with HA, but I only recently checked on Angie's contractor’s list and they have an “F” rating for taking money and not competing work. Bianca & Sandor both assured me that as general contractor, they and all of their electrical, hvac and plumbing subcontractors were licensed, and that I should be able to sell any house they remodeled within a short period of time for top dollar. It took them a lot longer than expected to complete the work, but there was a lot that needed to be done. The house looks beautiful and I put it on the market. Bottom line, they charged me over $48k mostly for labor as I paid another $20K for most of the materials to fix the first house, which I now can’t sell because it looks good but hasn’t yet passed an inspection. I’m having to pay again to have actual licensed contractors fix it right. EX. the new electric panel looked good to me—but YH&R supervised the installation of obsolete and unsafe circuit breakers. The panel was jury-rigged so it would work, but nothing was wired right or up to Code, and the house had no ground. Similar thing with the hvac and plumbing which all have to be fixed again after they “fixed it.” Sandor & Bianca has refused to refund my costs to repair their work or do anything about it. Also, she ended up taking items that she clearly knew belonged to me out of my 1st house without my knowledge or permission. When I demanded them back, she only returned part of them. This all happened only after I got involved with them in remodeling another house for me. At Bianca’s urging, I invested in another house that needed “a facelift,” but only on their agreement that they would work in the house 5 days a week for at least 30 days to finish remodeling it and have it on the market in 6 weeks. So, they could afford to do that, I agreed to give them a sum in advance, then another every two weeks for that time period they worked exclusively in the house. Except they didn’t – I paid them, but they kept making excuses about delays & having to leave. Also, they failed to get permits until the city threatened after they left old fencing trash on a public sidewalk for weeks, and the city posted big pink signs to the door, that no one was around to take down. In May, I gave Bianca cash to pay a cabinet vendor who gave discounts for cash. She never paid for the cabinets I had approved & paid her for. Two mos later, not 1 room is complete in the house & I finally caught her in her lies about the cabinets, but she refuses to tell me what she spent my money for in May or give it back. I've threatened to file charges, so they gave me a $33,000 bogus bill which includes work that has not been done or done so badly at the 2nd house, that it has to be removed & redone- (like $2700 for window trim that's falling off the windows; $6900 for full interior paint when about 45% hasn't been painted - & they've threatened me with a lien if I don't pay it -- I got pictures of their horrible work if anyone wants to see and texts & emails about what she took. I'm a senior citizen--they've conned me and threatened me--don't trust them!!
