Recent Review: Todd's crew was always on time, early start in morning, had supplies needed for the day, well organized - men were polite, took the lunch, worked until 5 pm - longer if needed. Cleaned up work area at end of each day, floor swept, garbage removed. Very pleased with Todd Alma Construction, and with work.

Recent Review: What a horrible experience. First my husband drove by mobile home at old site and saw living room furniture outside in pouring rain. Then when it came time to move the mobile home to our site one of the workers cut the heat pump lines and lost all freon. Then all copper came up missing.  The workmen moved what furniture was left to storage area as agreed and sat it all directly on ground with no covering, it was covered with mold at completion. Living room furniture was gone and queen mattress set gone, disappeared with no explaination. The porch lights were not secured, the paint job horrible with runs and not even completely painted, no ceilings painted at all. Paint all over kitchen floor. Vinyl flooring in entryway cut to short, curling up. toilets not flushing and leaking soaked new carpet. Even though they werent supposed to they hooked up plumbing which had to be completely redone. The bathroom doors wouldnt close. The fire alarm malfunctioned which was electrical. The closet doors were like painted cardboard and not hung correctly. When all these things were reported to company owner he assured me they would be taken care of, well when his workman showed up with no tools, and straightened the doors, tightened the porchlights. put down a section of stripping  and sloppily painted some spots getting paint on carpet, and told us that was all he could do, per the contract. We with held the final payment until, with a few hundred dollars off, we just wanted to be done with this company. We were lied too repeatedly, had to basically redo everything that was done. Now i fault myself for not checking licenses and bonding because thes guys were definately NOT professional in any way.

Recent Review: For a total of almost 2 months, Jimmy stalled and postponed beginning the job. There was always a "plausible" excuse, mainly the concern for his Diabetic daughter's baby's impending birth. According to him, the hospital was trying to deliver the baby full term and his daughter kept going into contractions - thus the back and forth to the hostpital. Feeling that this was an important concern for a father, I gave him a lot of leeway but this is the typical story and line(s) given: "We were at the hospital back and forth - but we'll be there tomorrow" Then he wouldn't show and he wouldn't even call to let me know that some emergency or such prevented him from showing, even when I would ask him to call me one way of the other if anything came up. I would have to call and often got voicemail then eventually I would catch him live by phone -- in all the time he only called me about 3 times on his own. VERY unprofessional! Mixed in with the daughter's trips back and forth to the hospital were emergency plumbing jobs that always took precedence over my job. When I questioned whether I would always be waiting because there are always emergency plumbing jobs he would assure me that once the job here was started - nothing would stop it until it was finished. This dragged on for 5 weeks- THEN For 2 weeks AFTER the successful birth of his granddaughter, he delayed my job due to important jobs that had to be completed for Real Estate closing deadlines and other emergencies. This time he really poured on the "promises" to be there the "next day" or "first thing in the morning" and with each no-show, STILL never called me but had to be "caught" answering his phone live and would claim excuse after excuse-- After my patience was exhausted, I contacted another contractor and had him estimate the cost of doing the job and decided to "fire" Jimmy from this job and just move forward. It took 2 weeks to get him to bring the materials he supposedly purchased for that $363 he'd charged me. My current contractor told me that most of the materials weren't appropriate for this job and in either case, were not worth anywhere near a total of $363. The last small box of materials were handed to me when I had to drive to meet him just to get the last of the materials after waiting that additional week. At least half the items in the box were not related to this job and were likely just items he had laying around that I wouldn't have the knowledge to discern whether they were specific to my job. I feel that he underestimated the complexity and time for this job, but instead of just honestly telling me that it was more involved and required more money or that he wasn't up for the task at the time due to his daughter's difficult pregnancy, he chose to just lie and stall and even rip me off for the "auxilliary" supplies. Buying the supplies tied up money that I needed the following month for an unexpected auto repair, and I was financially strapped and frustrated since no job was being done! He was unprofessional, unethical and doesn't deserve any trust placed in him!

FNorthgate Parts Incorporated
In 2009 I started to have water in my air ducts. We had international homes come out and look at it. They did not know what was causing it. For four years this went on and we would not have any air because the unit wouldn’t work, it would shut off. In 2013 the water got almost all the way up to my flooring. All along they had told me it was not the heat pump but the core/compressor. They have since then denied everything tell us this. We had to pump water out with vacuum. Guys came out and we mentioned this to them. They told us to call them in the Spring and when I did they still denied ever saying anything about heating/cooling. They told us to all Northgate, they were the ones who put in our unit. We called them and they never told us about a warranty. A young man came out and said they should have seen the heat pump was faulty. He said a unit was put in that was broken. He said they need to replace the unit and the floor that was ruined. He said he would let his boss know. We waited a few weeks but never heard back from them. We finally called them, they told us that we had a warranty when we first moved in but, it had been too many years and there was no longer a warranty. I told them we were never told we had a warranty and they hung up on me. I’m in the mountains so I thought I had lost the connection. I called back and again they told me I no longer had a warranty and hung up on me.  I was scared because everyone who looked at the unit told me to turn it off because the water is running over wires and it was a fire hazard.  Northgate will not take responsibility for this because they said I had one year to let them know and it’s too late. I have a bad floor, a unit that doesn’t work and no one is obligated to fix it.  Our home owners insurance has sent us letters to refuse to help us. They stated the floors are bad and the unit is rusted. They stated that since we did not let them know right away and it’s been so many years they are not responsible.

ATodd Almas Construction
Todd was very careful to keep everything very clean - no debris left at the end of each day. 6 day project. He clearly stated work to be done each day and planned for next day. He completed all the work in time frame allotted. Very contentious and kept work area clean and tidy. Very productive each day.
