Recent Review: Used Patriot Painting Plus to give house and garage a “refresh” – including painting for walls and ceilings, pressure wash vinyl siding of house and garage, and replacement of a couple rotten boards, as well as re-staining deck and stairs. Was very happy to learn that they also did the pressure washing and deck staining - as I wasn't expecting that. Mr. Norton was professional, friendly, and his company did an excellent job. I would highly recommend this company.

Recent Review: Earl was on time, professional and personable.  The amount we paid him overall was less than his quote. Earl is detailed and very precise.  His work performance was timely and beyond any criticism. Earl is a meticulous painter.  There was 0 paint spatter and the porch resurface material was straight-line applied.. no material smears on the columns or walls.  We will call him first for all our maintenance/improvement needs. We will be turning an old deck into a sunroom in the next year.  We will call Earl first to quote the sunroom.

Recent Review: Part of the job required working from the top of a 30 foot ladder.  Everything accomplished in a professional manner.  Neat and clean work.  NOTE: John required me to provide the stain, he furnished the pole paint...that may vary by the job.

AHighland Home Improvement
The original contract was signed 4/21/14.  Work began around 7/01/14. I had to call them to ask when they were starting the job.   Bathroom:  I designed a large shower, 6 feet wide.  The main ceramic tiles are 22" x 22" and resemble light granite.  There is a vertical mural on the back wall of (3) 20" x 20" tiles that look like dark highly grained stone.  A 4" border of multicolor dark/light mosiac surrounds the mural and ties the light stone to the dark mural.  The original border created a major problem.  The sample glass tile was on a brown background, but after installation, some tiles were blue and did not match the other tile.  The border was removed, another border was chosen and installed.  After some unexpected delays, the end result is exactly what I had envisioned and looks fabulous.  It really has a Wow factor.  The plumbing fixtures are brushed nickel with a shower head and hand shower.  Mike, the installer is very good at his job and easy to work with.  Mike also removed the popcorn ceiling from the bathroom.  What a messy job that was!  He did an excellent job on the completed ceiling.  I chose two vanity lights for over the sinks that had slate backs that matched the mural shower tile.  Two large mirrors were installed.  Mike did an outstanding job.   Deck:  Initially the deck (10' x 30') was to be power washed and stained.  After power washing, (deck is 19 years old) an old sap problem surfaced again.  Something else had to be done.  Only staining  the deck would not work.  I did some research and found a beautiful deck tile of cumaru exotic hardwood from www.advantagelumber.com.  The product is beautiful and much better quality than some of the composite decking.  AND less expensive.  Advantage Lumber was great to deal with.  A pallet of cumaru deck tiles was ordered and shipped.  Don and Toby were the men working on that project.  The old deck boards were removed  and additional joists were installed to accommodate the tile connectors.  Don was called to another job and Toby finished the deck.  Toby did an outstanding job of cutting and fitting the tiles around the posts.  The steps and landing were done in solid Cumaru boards.  After installation, Toby rolled on IPE oil.  This brought out the true beauty of the wood.  The end result is a remarkably beautiful deck surface.   I am extremely pleased with the workmanship and materials used.  The total cost was about $24,000, with the bathroom work costing around $16,000 and the deck about $8,000.  The total included $6,500 in materials I purchased outside the contract. The workmen were respectful and easily adjusted to working with a woman.  They asked my opinion at each step and took in stride the changes in plans.

B3 Brothers Painting
The brothers (only two of the three are painters) came over one Saturday to measure the job, then provided us an estimate by the following Monday.  We provided them a $400 downpayment for materials, and the job was completed within a week.  The results were spectacular and the final price came in under the original estimate so we paid even less than we originally planned.  We plan to use them again for first an interior painting job, then to refinish one of our wooden decks.

FABC Fences and Decks
The privacy fence was constructed first. We had a couple of things that needed to be fixed and one was done the other was not. The deck was next. The top raiing of the deck is uneven with gaps. The post were not cut evenly. It is a poorly constructed There are nails sticking out. He said he was going to fix it but never did. They constructed a 3 foot picket fence in the front yard. Due to the time of year he said they would wait until spring to paint it. We were okay with that. It is now summer and after contacting him numerous times, the fence is painted. It is a horrible paint job. It looks like my 6 year old granddaughter painted it. Pictures are available if anyone needs to see them. I would never recommend this contractor to anyone.

ANash Painting
Over the past two years, we have used Nash Painting for four projects on our property and one at our church.  Each has been performed with total professionalism.  We started with Nash Painting with a project to paint/stain the exterior of our house.  Previous work had deteriorated and the project required extensive preparation work, including a great deal of caulking, along with some minor replacement work as well as substantial masking.  They focused on this as the key to an outstanding job and the results are everything we expected and hoped for.  The second job was staining over a mile of four-board fencing on both sides.  Again, their attention to preparation (lots of pressure washing) paid off in an outstanding job.  Because of their solid performance for us at our house, I asked Nash to quote on a job at our church.  It wasn’t a big job in any sense, BUT because it was part of a preparation project for a new pipe organ, the scheduling was critical.  Bill recognized that special need and responded accordingly.  While it is often difficult to schedule a combination of exterior and interior painting, particularly when the weather is less than cooperative, Bill fully understood the imperative of the church job.  No one wants to “foul up” an organ installation costing over half a million dollars over a $3,000 painting job!  He treated that schedule commitment as an absolute.  Equally importantly, when we realized that the red-toned paint had faded over the years leaving one other area (not previously addressed) looking very mismatched, he offered to get that very small job done on short notice at a very reasonable price (and yes, we agreed!).  His final two jobs involved some more fence staining (one section I didn’t have clear for the first job, plus all the replaced boards elsewhere – the joy of horses and board fences …) as well as staining the structural lumber of a new deck and gazebo.  The fences were handled without a hitch.  The deck and gazebo were, bluntly, a painter’s nightmare.  The decking, rails, and bench seats are of synthetic lumber so an inordinate amount of masking and staining care were required to get the treated structural lumber stained without marring the synthetic lumber.  Once again, Nash Painting came through with a top-quality job.  Nash Painting exhibits total professionalism in everything they do.  On the house painting, I “caught” them re-doing caulk to ensure a perfect job.  In the deck/gazebo job I have only found one piece of masking they failed to remove out of – thousands, maybe miles – of independent pieces.  I can unhesitatingly recommend Nash Painting for all you painting/staining needs.
