Recent Review: Proscapes transformed the appearance of our home by completely redoing our front lawn and the back yard areas. The Proscapes designers gave us a lush, verdant lawn that is truly impressive yet still understated at our request. Essentially, they gave us a and quot;WOWand quot; factor that one gets when first viewing our home. Also, our backyard area has now been transformed into a beautiful pergola with a stone walkway from the parking area to the pergola. The small sides along the walkway are now a river-rock rock garden. We also have a maintenance contract, so we trust Proscapes to completely care for our yard. We do not give trust easily, so you can see we are very happy with Procapes and all the work they have done for us. We would especially like to thank the owners, Mike and Katie, for going above and beyond in meeting our expectations. Without reservation, we can highly recommend Proscapes for creating beautiful, professional landscapes.

Recent Review: This is the second time I have used Sean. He is very good and great to work with. He's on time and communicates fully on the steps of the project along the way. The end results have been exactly what I had envisioned. He showed up for the estimate and we agreed on a price. We set a scheduled project start and finish date. He and his helper, Chris (also an really nice hardworking guy), showed up and got to work. The project did go over by a few hours more needed on one more day but it was understandable and more than acceptable to us. They worked very, very hard. They in stalled a stone patio and had to remove what grass and plants were there. This part of the yard is locked in by a retaining wall, a fence, the house and a screen porch. All materials in and out had to be hand carried or in a small wheelbarrow that would fit through our screen porch doors. It was very labor intensive. The stones had to come from the truck in the street, up a hill and through our porch to the patio site. They removed and moved plants to create a flower bed on the other side of the yard and bordered it with the old stones that they removed from the other side of the yard (more stone lifting and moving by hand!)

Recent Review: I have been highly remiss in not providing information on the services I received from Acadia Landscaping this past spring (~end of March through April).  But it has also allowed me to have a 5-month long evaluation period to live with the final product.  The conclusion is that Phil and his crew built a 568 sq. ft. brick paver patio for us that is highly functional, yet it also qualifies as a work of art.  Phil was very thorough in determining the configuration we desired and the materials we wanted to use.  We settled on small brick pavers and he developed a finished design that is reflective of what we hoped to achieve.   One aspect that I love is that the patio looks as if it was built when the house was built because of the excellent integration with the surrounding structure and environment.  The patio butts up against two cement pads for two different rear entrances and with a screened porch on one side, and a five-foot retaining wall on the other.    It includes precisely cut brick sections surrounded by bricks laid in a circular pattern around each section.   Also, we wanted the patio to include a pergola on which to grow a 12-year old trumpet vine.  The pergola measures 10 ft. tall by 6 ft. wide by 4 ft. deep.   I picked the design out on the internet after looking at over 500 examples and images. We had a number of delays because of spring rain totals that were way beyond the norm, but Phil managed to schedule his guys between the rainier days to start and keep the job on an acceptable pace.   Acadia did not employ mere laborers for this work; it was obvious that this was a crew of craftsmen and artisans.  Their attention to detail and the preciseness of their work methods was on display throughout the job.  They used a high-speed saw to cut the bricks after they were laid, and the results are unique and highly pleasing to the eye.   Also they did a thorough clean up job and y refilled the tracks in the yard from the bulldozer.   The grass they planted grew very well with weekly watering and is still in good shape, even after the hot summer months this year. I could not be happier about the final product.  Phil designed the patio to flow all water away from the house when it rains. It drains very effectively even In downpours, and we?ve had many this year.   Also, I?m a gardener and grow many plants from seed in ornamental pots every spring.  I?ve had a chance to integrate all kinds of potted annuals and wild flowers of various types throughout the patio.  The combination of the patio and these many plants is stunning.  I also can?t believe the great job they did with the pergola ? again, another work of art.  It is built with timbers that are not dark and thick, but instead light and sleeker than most other pergolas I have seen.   It is structurally sound and the overall effect is almost oriental in appearance.   I?m still astounds me that Phil could take a 2-inch by 1-inch image of a pergola and have his crew faithfully reproduce it.   My trumpet vine has had a great year growing over the top of the pergola and I used the lattice sides to grow other types of vines and prop up my sun flowers .  Every time someone visits who has not been to our house since the patio was built, they rave over it.   In fact, we always end up sitting outside because it draws people to do so.  Unlike past summers on our screened porch (not enough breezes since it?s against the house), we have sat out 2 out of every 3 evenings this summer.  It helps that the northeast side of the patio is shady by ~5:30 pm and there is typically a breeze.   I always recommend Acadia to everyone who inquires and will continue to do so.  I would hire Phil and his crew anytime I needed landscaping-related work.   They are excellent. Do's Use a can of spray paint to outline of the patio you desire. This approach ensures that everyone's on the same page relative to expectations and the final product. If your plan includes cutting brick, move all plants and other items away from the work area.  When high-speed saws cut brick, the dust goes everywhere and coats everything in the vicinity. .

Reviews in Oak Ridge to Building a Pergola

APatio Concepts of Tennessee
A very good experience with this company--Patio  Concepts of Tennessee.  We visited their booth at the Knoxville, TN House and Garden show In Feb.  They came out, gave us an estimate, and came back and did the work on the promised date.  Their sales rep called us at each step to let us know what was going on.  He even made a special trip to Greeneville, TN to pick up some of the parts that were mis-shipped.  I told them what the City Building Ispector wanted to see, and they took care of it.  We are very pleased with the pergola.  It looks great, and is very functional.

AAcadia Landscape Co
Acadia's work is just beautiful.  The job is 95% finished.  Phil's ability to provide a holistic design that incorporated the existing physical attributes - our brick house and surrounding landscape - with the new patio and pergola design is a gift.  Phil didn't try to impose a pre-existing patio design to my particular needs; he instead listened to what I hoped to accomplish and looked at the attributes of the area where I wanted the patio and designed it to fit the unique configuration I hoped could be achieved.   Additionally, the Acadia work crew are hard-working guys who display consistent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.  As a home owner, it is easy to observe that they are efficient but not rushed in how they go about their work.   This job is well worth the ~$8300 price tag.  I will use them again if I ever need landscaping work and I will recommend them to friends and family members anytime.
