Recent Review: After 3 years I called them to service the unit. They answered my call in person, were here the next day to service the softener and charged $45 service fee all the way from VA!! Not only that, I found out that had I thought to call them for my UV light, I could have saved $400 over the local vendor I used. Needless-to-say I'm getting my replacement bulbs from them which are 1/2 the price of the local contractor!

Recent Review: I called Mr. Flewelling with a lack of water pressure in our house. He came to the house the same day to assess the work needed and give us an estimate. He came back within 1-2 days to install the pressure valve and change some water line at the valve which was located behind a panel in our den. He increased our water temperature on our hot water heater at this time too. While he was at our house, I asked if he would look at our water softer because it had not worked the way I thought it should since it was installed 2-3 years ago. Mr. Flewelling said it wasn't working because the softener was not hooked up to the water lines on everything that was in the lower end of the house which included our kitchen, laundry, main bath, 1/2 bath, and probably our master bath. Essentially the whole house because the main line was not hooked up correctly. He said that our ceiling in our den would have to be demolished to get to the water lines to hook up our water softener properly. This would be a big, messy job. He assessed the water lines in our garage and outside, and decided that he could re-route the water lines from the main water supply through our front porch into our space under the stairs and into our garage to hook up our water softener properly. By doing this our ceilings would not need to be torn down (which we had opted not to do anyway). He came back with his backhoe the following week. Mr. Flewelling and his helper, Diego, was very professional, friendly, and neat. They dug up our yard with the backhoe, replaced the old PVC pipe with higher quality flexible pipe. This work of digging and filling the dirt back in was done very neatly. When entering our home Diego took off his muddy boots and wore clean shoes in the house. While doing all this work, Mr. Flewelling also relocated the new pressure valve he had previously installed in our den to our garage, so everything is in our garage. This made everything a lot easier to access. We can now close up the panel in our den. He also added a new outside spigot with cut off valve in the garage, and a cut off valve to the existing outside spigot. A cut off valve was put on the main line in the garage so we could turn off all the water to the house from the garage. My water softener is working now. Mr. Flewelling worked efficiently, was knowledgeable, and helpful . We were pleased with all the work done, the timeliness, and cost of the jobs. We would definitely use Ed's Plumbing in the future and highly recommend them.

I had an appointment to have my water softener repaired. The technician arrived on time and checked my unit. He then explained my current problem, and advised me that another part seemed to be making a noise, indicating that it would soon fail. I was given the option of replacing the additional part ( which was about 14 years old) at once, or waiting until it failed totally. Since waiting would have resulted in a second service call within a fairly short time, I had all the work done that day.

They told me I needed an indoor shutoff and quoted me $400 to put that in and bypass the softener. I declined but had to pay $39 service fee. The next plumber showed me that I had an indoor shutoff AND a shutoff to the leaking pipe! He didn't charge us anything.
