Recent Review: The original contact with AAA was made from a listing and references in Angie's List, after obtaining quotes from three other fence companies which were not satisfactory. The estimator (name was Champ) came out promptly, was pleasant and communicative, took measurements while walking the fence line, assuring me the plants and flowers would be safe. He developed a written estimate and time frame for installation on the spot, within a few minutes, and left with plenty of contact information. He assured me he was always around during installation to assure quality; also said their standard practice was to remove the fence and set all posts in concrete in one day, then wait a day, and on the third day return and install the boards and pickets and complete the job.I had other quotes to consider, but this was less and the company more impressive. I called back in about a week to set a date for installation: the estimator indicated he would be on vacation the next week but someone else could take care of me: I said, no, that I wanted his presence as promised and I would wait a week. I called back the following week, a date was set for the Friday of that week: the crew showed up promptly, started removal; I talked with the leader, who said they would install ALL in one day, not over two separate days, as mentioned in the estimate, and the process would produce the same results. I agreed grudgingly, as this was not something I was familiar with. The crew of 3 finished the job (taking a 1/2 hour lunch) from 8:30 AM to about 4 PM, and left it neat and the plants undamaged, with instructions not to touch the fence as the concrete had to set for two days. The post tops were not installed but they said would be later. Champ did not appear as promised, but there seemed no need for him: he made no followup contact either. Post tops were delivered a week later when I was not at home, but not installed. I called Champ twice in two days, with a message that there were at least 3 fence pickets already warping. The second day, I came home and the post tops were on and three pickets were changed out. I called Champ and got him, confirming what was done and expressing my irritation at the lack on communication even though the work was done satisfactorily: he was apologetic. Since there were still a couple of slightly warped pickets, I confirmed then that the fence and installation was warranted for at least one year to cover such problems.
