Recent Review: Paul, the operations manager, came out to look over the work to be done, discuss my concerns, and gather data for a free estimate. Ann, the office manager, had a detailed estimate to me within a day or two and I agreed to have the work done. The workers showed up promptly as scheduled each day of the job. The excavation turned out to require less time than estimated, and only half of the insulation needed to be replaced. Paul adjusted the quoted price accordingly. The work was done professionally and to my satisfaction. Paul and Ann kept me up to date throughout the course of the job. I would not hesitate to call on Crawlspace Medic again should the need arise.

Recent Review: I originally contacted the company about bidding on the job in December 2011.  Owner Ricky Bedenbaugh responded promptly and came to the house to  look at the property.  We discussed what needed to be done, and he gave me a quote of $1,600 on the spot and estimated a work time of 1-1/2 days.  After receiving several other bids, I elected to use this company.  Although originally scheduled to arrive the week of Jan 23rd, they were delayed on previous jobs by inclement weather.  Ricky and his son, Michael, arrived around noon on Tuesday, Jan 31st, and got right to work.  By the time they left at around 5pm, the trees were gone, the brush and stumps were removed, and the pad was roughly leveled.  Michael returned the following morning with a load of sand, which he quickly spread and leveled.  The project was completed by 10:30 Wednesday morning.  A problem emerged within the next day or two - spongy ground over a stump hole.  Although Ricky felt the ground would firm up as the soil dried, it did not.  I notified Ricky on Thursday, Feb 2nd, and on Feb 3rd he came to check it.  We agreed on a plan of correction and he asked me to notify him when the construction of the building was complete.  They returned on Friday, Feb 10th, dug out the problem spot, and trucked in and spread an additional load of dirt, after which Ricky told me he would send a bill for an additional $150.  Although my initial reaction was that I shouldn't be charged for him fixing what I hired him to do in the first place, I know the additional load of dirt and second leveling of the pad was not in his original quote.  I considered the additional charge to be fair.  I particularly appreciated his quick response to the problem; it's not always easy to get someone back to fix a problem once they've gotten paid. Later this year I will begin construction of a rental house on a wooded lot I own.  Based on this good perormance, I will be offering Ricky Bedenbaugh the opportunity to bid on land clearing and septic tank installation for that project.
