Recent Review: I called on Tuesday afternoon. They returned my call right away, and gave me a price on the phone. They called Wednesday and had the job done by early morning at the quoted price. They unloaded the new range from my trailer and hauled off the old range at no extra charge. The price was about half of that from Lowes and Sears.

DAir Plus Service
The technician informed me upon arrival that I should not expect the indoor temperature to be warmer than 65 if the outside temperature fell below 35 because these systems are not able to keep up when the temp is so cold. He also went on to explain that part of the problem is that my house is a 2 story with an open banister to the upstairs, so of course since heat rises the downstairs is destined to remain cold. This was before he had even looked at the unit. When I questioned why our upstairs unit blew warm air, he said it was because it was an older unit, and the newer units aren't designed to blow warm air because of energy efficiency guidelines. He eventually went outside to check the unit, but returned saying everything looked fine and that I needed to realize that the downstairs was never going to be warmer than 65ish in winter, and that's what I get for buying a 2 story house. I didn't feel like that was right, and I was tired of the downstairs being below 60 degrees in the morning, so I requested a different company come to check the unit. The other company found right away that the defrost panel was not working, so our system was running in a constantly frozen state. After getting the unit thawed, he also found that the reversal valve was sticking. Now that the defrost board and reversal valve have been replaced, the downstairs is warming nicely. Although the guy from Air Plus seemed like a nice enough guy, he really did not put forth any effort to determine a problem with our system, and left us literally in the cold. I would not call them again for service.

Dont waste your time if you are looking to remodel. They claim to do additions but don't seem confident when explaining what you want at first meet. I couldn't even get an estimate for the job. The owner even recommended finding a local contractor after calling a week later because he never got back with me. I simply ask for a ballpark figure for the job and Dwight told me he would get one together but never got back with me at all. He seemed hesitant about the 35 min commute to my home for A $35k + job and claimed he wouldn't profit from it , but how can you know your profit if you never set a price for the job. I never had a set budget for the work we talked about for the reason I dont budget an addition. Its hard for a homeowner to give a budget on an addition and full kitchen/dining remodel. I wanted a job and had no price range for it so thats his loss. He hinted it took several hours to get a good figure and I felt as if he didn't think I was serious about his time to get me a figure. Dwight was more concerned about how I located his services online than the potential job. I dont recommend this company for lack of communication, failing to listen to your needs and not taking the time to work with a potential customer. I also gave my review on their facebook page with a 1 star rating and it was removed shortly after. You can't hide the truth.

FTaylor AC & Heating LLC
Brett Taylor offered to install a used heat pump he had on-hand at my new residence in the Florence / Darlington area. I and my sons did a great amount of prep work so that his installation would be simple. During the prep work process, Brett contacted me and needed some money that he intended to use to replace a few components on the used heat pump. He also mentioned that he had changed banks so he had no access to funds... The whole premise sounded fishy but against my better judgment I gave him $100 and had him sign a receipt as part of prepayment for the heat pump installation. I also gave him the air handler I had since we were going from a "split unit" to a "single unit" system. The air handler had no value to me and he thought that he could use it to help out others who might need the fan etc. As he drove away, I did not realize that this would be the last time I would ever see him. I repeatedly tried to contact him and his wife. After three weeks of pestering him, he called me and told me that he had "split" from his wife and had moved to North Carolina... AND that his wife had "given away" the used heat pump. I asked if he would still be able to deliver on his agreement or should I seek another solution. At that point I was ignored for a couple of weeks and realized that this whole thing was a mistake and found a reputable company/person to deal with concerning a heat pump. I've had many text conversations with Brett recently and even offered that he work off the $100 by making a service call on my little sister's A/C unit. The stories have ranged from "I'm broke" to "I will have someone look at her A/C" but no one ever followed through. I still have not seen my $100 and with just a bit of inquiring around, it appears that he and his wife are not "splitting up". She is at the beach and he is in NC where she will end up with him because they are moving there.
