Recent Review: They did a beautiful job and helped us with our tile design. J&G was flexible and worked around our schedule as we were out of town frequently and in some cases were short on materials.

Recent Review: SuperCarpets was excellent in all respects. We got prices from two other companies, and they beat both hands down. We had some questions about the flooring itself and they called the manufacturer and answered our concerns. The workmen showed up on the day scheduled on time and ready to work. They moved all the appliances and took great care not to scratch anything and laid wood down to protect our other flooring. They were very pleasant and professional. After they took up our old flooring, they found we had a leak and could not finish the job as planned that day, so they took the time to put the refrigerator back so that we would have the use of the kitchen while the leak was repaired. They rescheduled to come back and finish and showed up again as planned and completed the job. They did a great job on the prep before they laid the new floor. They put the new flooring in perfectly straight and did a great job of putting the moulding back around the edge of the floor. After they finished, they swept and replaced all the appliance exactly as we wanted them. Then they removed all the debris and cleaned up everything. I was completely satisfied with the entire job.

Recent Review: The repair was done was done expertly, by competent, professional installers. The new installation blends seamlessly with the undamaged portion of the floor. The owner, Mr. Van Slett was very helpful in explaining what had to be done and communicated with us through out the project. I would highly recommend Diamond Floors, to anyone contemplating a new wood floor installation or refinishing or repair of an existing floor.

Recent Review: Great work! I already purchased my engineered flooring and needed an install company. Jonathan responded immediately to my inquiry about an estimate. Jonathan met me at my house later that same day. He measured everything and sent me a written offer by the end of the day. He also went the extra step of including his insurance information. I accepted and we started talking about scheduling. My interior contractor was a headache and I kept having to push back my floor install but Jonathan and his team were flexible. They picked up my flooring and delivered it (at no extra cost). They worked very h****** ripping up the old flooring and took the time to clean up and remove all the old staples left on the floor. The install itself went smoothly and my floors look beautiful! I plan to get more flooring installed in a year's time and will absolutely be contacting Ray's Flooring again!

Recent Review: We hired Palm Flooring to install Costco’s Arowana waterproof vinyl plank. At first, we were only going to do the upstairs bedrooms and baths, but after seeing how great of job they did, we decided to let them install this same materials on the first floor. The result is PHENOMENAL. Every joint between each plank was tightly fit together, zero gap. Yuri is THE MAN. We also had them sand and re-stain steps for our staircase to match the flooring. It absolutely made the house looks upscale. We would definitely hire Palm Flooring again for other future projects.

Recent Review: Enzo saved the day. The original contractor we hired to do the job wasted 2 boxes of our extra flooring and did a hack job on the floor. Enzo and his crew not only had to correct the previous contractor’s work but had to make the best use of our remaining extra flooring tonnage it work and did an amazing job.

Recent Review: The owner came out promptly after I purchased the deal to measure. My space was larger than the deal offered, so he provided a quote for the overage. After I selected my tile, he scheduled a guy to come out a do the demolition and reinstall. The demolition took a day. The install took a day, and the grouting took a couple hours on a third day. After tile was installed, another guy came to do molding on a Saturday. He was several hours late but did excellent work. Over all it was about a week process. I did require a subfloor repair which I had to have someone else do. The owner did relay to me that he didn't do subfloor repairs or much work with marble or natural stone. If you have a basic ceramic or porcelain tile job, Harbor Flooring does great work at a very reasonable price. I am very pleased with the results. It really modernized my bath. I highly recommend this company.

His team is reliable and communicates exceptionally well! Their work ethic is greatly appreciated.

Reviews in North Charleston for Natural Stone Tile Installation

FStripling Custom Tile LLC
Jason Stripling was recommended to our decorator by Melcer Tile to install a natural stone tile backsplash in our FROG kitchenette and to install slate flooring on an approximately 4' x 6' stair landing leading to the FROG.  We had seen an installed sample of our backsplash tile on the wall at Melcer, and we told Mr. Stripling to take a look at the sample on Melcer's wall and to duplicate the installation pattern.  Mr. Stripling had to go to Melcer anyway to pick up the materials, and could easily have gone into the showroom to view the installation sample as we had requested.  It turns out that he did not even bother to walk the few extra steps it would have taken to view the sample.  Instead, he assumed that "he knew what we wanted." Jason sent another workman to do the installation, telling us he had told the workman how we wanted the tiles installed.  Since neither had bothered to view the sample, the result was predictable.  Instead of the tiles being close together with exposed facets around  the tiles and  narrow grout lines between as in the sample on the wall at Melcer, what we got was tiles more widely separated with thick grout lines covering both the facets of and the space between the tiles.  On the positive side, the installation of the slate flooring was very well done.  However, because we could not walk on the newly laid slate on the stair landing, we could not go up to the FROG to view the backsplash installation for several days after completion.  In the meantime, I made the mistake of assuming a similar quality of work on the backsplash and paid Mr. Stripling in full. When we informed Mr. Stripling that the backsplash installation was done incorrectly, he assured us that he could and would correct it.  According to him, the tiles did not need to be respaced.  All that was required was to scrape off the excess grout from the tile facets, and the tiles would appear closely spaced as in the sample he was supposed to have duplicated.  He again sent his workman, who made a half-assed effort to remove the excess grout but did not correct the problem.  When Mr. Stripling viewed his work, he admitted that more needed to be done and promised to come back the following week to complete the work.  On the morning he was to come back, Mr. Stripling called and cancelled the appointment.  The next week, he did the same thing.  After a third appointment was cancelled on the morning of the appointment, I called Mr. Stripling and asked him point blank if he could "give me an appointment he could keep."  "Yes, Sir," he assured me.  "Just let me check my schedule, and I'll get back to you."  Needless to say, he never did get back to us, and calls to him ever since have gone unreturned.

CRoth Restoration
Most objection was that price quoted was much lower than price charged ($00 vs and gt; 1000 actual). I should have gotten a written quote for the job. He informed me that he could not protect the base molding and indeed it was damaged and I had to redo all. However, damage was also done to carpet on stair and adjacent wood floor. Overall, I felt overcharged for the job and I even ended up doing the finish coat that was part of his original quote, at my expense and time.

We agreed to the written quote with a start date of Friday 7/19/2013 at 9:30am. He and his crew arrived at the agreed time and started work on the floors. The process is a step function with each procedure followed to get the dirt, oil and stains out of the floor and open up any holes followed by filling (optional) the holes particularly in the kitchen ending with a sealer to lock in the true colors and keep the floor clean. Galen has over thirty years in the tile and floor business and knows what can be done to clean tile, stone and other nature materials on floors, walls and ceilings. This is what he does for a living and he knows what he is doing. He seems to like the challenges he faces with natural materials. The only issue we had was one of his employees hit our gate backing out/in our driveway. He agreed to fix but it took a while to find someone who would fix the gate without cutting the main support section as the gate is over one hundred years old. We cut the gate crosses in a small section and then used a hydraulic jack to very slowly push the bent section back into place, the cross sections now need to be spot welded with the gate in place. It would cost $200 to fix.

AWOODBOYS
Woodboys came out and provided a detail quote for the cost of removal of old carpet, prep and installation of new wood flooring. The representative provided a sample of the new flooring to make sure it matched existing flooring. I couldn't have asked for a closer match, since the existing flooring was 11 years old. The installer contacted me the day before to confirm his arrival time on the installation day. He arrived as stated fully prepared to commence work. His team was very professional. They had the new floor installed in about three hours. They installed floor molding and cleaned up the room and gave instructions on taking care of the new flooring. I would highly recommend Woodboys for anyone's flooring needs and plan to use them in the future

Paul and his crew are outstanding!  Seriously, I cannot sing their praises high enough.  I originally contacted Paul for a fairly small job after reading other Angie's List reviews about his courteous nature and professionalism. The other reviews were spot on.  Paul has been a dream to work with on both projects and neither were uncomplicated.  He is never ruffled by our questions, requests, or changes...and we changed several design aspects to the bathroom during construction.  When I apologized to one of his crew for the extra work, he told me it was "not a problem; you're paying us for what you want and you should have it."  Our bathroom is totally transformed from late 80s blah to 21st century contemporary.   Apex took the bathroom down to the studs and concrete floor and then built a new walk-in shower with built-in marble corner seat and tile floor that matched the larger bathroom floor.  They tiled every square inch of wall space in the bathroom, installed new vanity/toilet/towel bars, moved electrical & added additional lighting, added an architectural beam surrounded in very small stone tiles to hold dramatic lighting, and carved an almost 3' long lighted niche into the wall as our main design feature.  Paul & his crew tidied up at the end of every day, so we didn't feel like we were living in a messy environment.  We're so pleased with the level of work we received that we hope to use Apex for an even bigger upstairs bedroom+bath remodel we want to undertake later this year.  Paul's price, while not the cheapest bid, was very fair, and for the pleasant demeanor and can-do attitude he and his crew brought to our home each day, the price was worth it!

The process from start to finish was great - no hiccups! The price was competitive, and the quality of the solid hardwood was exceptional. The installers arrived on time, took no breaks, and cleaned up after themselves. Overall it was a great experience and our new floors look fabulous!

It went very well... Ty and his crew removed the old layers of flooring as well as the damaged original hardwood flooring from the kitchen and a bathroom. They then installed new hardwood flooring which was keyed into the old original floors of the adjacent rooms and then sanded and refinished all of the contiguous flooring. It came out beautifully... can't even tell there was ever anything other than beautiful hardwood floors, and can't tell where the new and old floors end or begin. Very happy with the results.
