Recent Review: I had JR's replace a sliding door, replace some wood siding and paint the exterior of my vacation house. He did a nice job at a fair price. The problem is that I paid him in full before the job was complete and I had a chance to inspect. I live out of state and could not return in time to check the work which he said was complete but I sent him a final payment out of a gesture of good faith anyway. When I arrived at the house, I found that there were several areas not painted completely, the sliding door trim was not finished nor caulked on the inside or outside and a few other small items like left paint and paint brushes laying around outside and which became rusty and left stains on my pavers. I called him and he said that he was very busy but would get to it. It is now several phone calls and a year later still no John Ross from JR's. I am a business owner with 40 employees that started out by myself with a pick up truck. Why did I grow and become fairly successful? Because I gave the customer more than I promised and never ever left a job until it was completed and the customer fully satisfied. John Ross is close to being a 4 or 5 Star contractor - perhaps if you hold final payment until the job is completed.

Recent Review: I had received bids from several companies, and his bid was lowest.  He came and sat with us, explained the problem with the door, and his workers were able to come the next day.  They were just remarkable to watch, and the door works great.

He still has not returned to finish - so I am doing it myself.

FBilly's Glass & Mirror
I called to get an estimate to have 2 sliding doors repaired/replaced. The person that answered said they would call me right back in a few minutes. I called back hours later and the person took the information and said he would call me the next morning with a quote. I called them later the next afternoon, because I had not heard from them, and he said he would have someone call me. It is now 2 days past that, and I have not heard back. To be fair, I am sure they are busy with the storm, however, if they would have said we are swamped now and will get to you when we can, I would have understood. Do not over promise and under deliver, which is what happened here.

DCOASTAL REMODELERS
They started 2 weeks late and didn't actually yet finish. The enclosure appears to be OK but the cement work aside from being lousy caused a leak in my sprinkler system. When I told them about it they took 2 weeks to repair it and not to my satisfaction. They dug up my lawn around the patio and never came back to fill it in. They also tried to charge me more for the cement work after charging me an 80% down payment. To finish the screen didn't fit the sliding door so the contractor tried to tell me a screen didn't come with the door.

The weather was terribly rainy the first day they showed up. We put off doing the porch until the second day. They set about taking out the two sliding doors. Jody was terrific in removing the siding and after pulling the nails, the doors came out. Installing the new doors was easier than taking out the old ones. Some extra wood work had to be done and extra tiling to the door stop on the inside. Everything was done perfectly and I could not be more pleased. They were open to all suggestions in solving any problems that arose. I would absolutely use them again and would encourage anyone needing work to be done to call them.

ABilly's Glass & Mirror
The seal on my patio sliding glass door had broken. I called Billy's and they send a team out that afternoon. The team dismantled the door and took precise measurements of the actual glass to be replaced. The door is not a standard size sliding door. Later that afternoon I received a call from Billy and he gave me the quote for the the glass, cost of labor and approximate date of work (glass had to be ordered). Five days later Nicole called and said the glass had arrived and they came out within 45 mins of the call and installed the new glass. Two young men (Brandon & Matt I think) came both times. They were knowledgeable, professional, friendly and efficient. A job well done and I am very pleased with the whole process. I will use their service again. I do recommend giving them a try. If they do as well by you as they did me, you too will be completely satisfied.
