Recent Review: The entire experience with Pavel could not have been better. His work is impeccable, but it was more than that. Pavel is a genuinely honest and nice person who cares about making his customers happy. Although Pavel acted as general contractor on my project, he personally did all of the work with the help of an assistant. Pavel's core business is tile and he is a definitely master with it, but he is also a great carpenter, plumber, and pretty much anything else he sets his mind to do. I began taking notice of other tile work after Pavel installed the tile floor and glass tile wall and backsplash. The tilework in my kitchen is so much better than any other I have seen. There are no uneven tiles like I saw in EVERY other tile installation. Pavel's work is flawless. I originally hired Pavel to do the tile work in my kitchen. I had planned to use Ikea's certified installers, but then I read numerous negative reviews of the company and got a good preview of the delays I would have experienced when I was dealing with their salesperson. I was very impressed with Pavel when he came to give his original estimate for the tile work. So when he suggested that he could do the full project, I felt confident that he would do a much better job for me than the supposed Ikea cabinet experts. I was right. Pavel made the whole process easy for me. If I could not be home while he was working it was never a problem. When I came home everything was neat and swept and the work progress was always impressive. On Fridays Pavel's charming wife would come by to do extra tidying up so that the house and work area was "nice and clean for the weekend." Pavel is a perfectionist. "Good enough" is not good enough for him. The work I saw in the Ikea showroom can't hold a candle to the workmanship that Pavel put into my kitchen. Every grout line on his tile work is as straight as an arrow and every cabinet door is adjusted perfectly even. Pavel had some challenges in my older house with uneven floors and walls. There were also challenges with the Ikea products. Pavel always had an elegant solution and a reassurance to me, "Don't worry. I'll make it work." No challenge was too much for him. When he first installed the duct work for the range hood he called me in to tell me that he felt it was too loud. I really didn't think it was that bad, but it wasn't good enough for Pavel. He thought on it for a bit and then came up with a solution that made the fan whisper quiet. When the built in microwave did not have a trim piece on the bottom to hide the interior shelf, he somehow managed to strip off the veneer from a scrap trim piece and apply it to the shelf so that it matched the outer cabinet. He did the same thing with a brace over the dishwasher. These are just examples of the many, many things Pavel did to ensure that the final outcome was perfect. Pavel has great advice and ideas. He made suggestions about things that would not have occurred to me, such as having outlet strips installed on the under sides of the cabinets and putting the island on wheels. Some of the suggestions he made were for work that other tradesmen would need to do. His ideas were not about making more money from the project. He genuinely wanted my kitchen to be as fabulous as it could possibly be and advice was given more the way a good friend with great taste would give advice. Pavel very wisely suggested that I have the 70s sponge texture removed from the ceiling and have recessed lighting installed. I hired a painter and electricians to do that work, and boy what a difference it made! He also suggested that I allow him to properly duct the range hood through the attic, which I had not originally planned to do but I am so glad that I did. Pavel knew the little things that would make a huge impact. When he was working on my project he genuinely cared about the final outcome and my enjoyment of my new kitchen as if it was his own kitchen. Pavel gives his customers a level of personal service and caring that was amazing and really sets him apart from his peers in the industry. My kitchen is truly beautiful and it would not be half as nice if I had not hired Pavel to do the work. I have plans for a number of projects around my house and would not dream of hiring anybody except Pavel.

John and his company was referred to us by a neighbor and his team of workers exceeded our expectations. They performed the work in a timely manner and within the budget range we had agreed upon.

Ron is the best. I recently purchased a couple of rental units in Little River and MTP has helped me on several projects ranging from doing the demo on a bathroom to wiring a unit for cable to installing a ceiling fan. His work is always top quality and he has always done exactly what he said he would do, when he said he would do it, for the price that he quoted. Ron is an honest, hard working guy with wide ranging skills. I give him my highest recommendation.

ACarolina Cool Inc
Initial contact from out of state on newly-purchased condo. Carolina Cool responded promptly to telephone inquiry with helpful info about range of services, contracts, pricing, etc. Work was scheduled in advance. CC called day prior to confirm appointment. Tech called in advance to confirm timing and arrived on schedule. Tech was careful and thorough. He explained operation and owner maintenance of HVAC system. He made several recommendations with approximate costs and prioritized them for urgency, and promptly performed the requested additional tasks. Totally satisfied!

Mark came recommended to me by my neighbor and I can certainly understand why! I used him to help with plumbing, some electrical, drywall, and new appliance installation during a condo renovation. He does excellent work with an emphasis on doing the job RIGHT and not just getting it done. I also found him to be very trustworthy and he always gave me honest input about what all would be involved, what needed to be done to have the best long-run result, etc. On the day that he finally was able to install my kitchen sink and plumbing (after waiting on the kitchen counter to be installed) he literally stayed until 8pm to get the job done since he knew I'd been without kitchen plumbing for over 3 months. He then also came back the next day to fix a tiny leak in 1 of the pipes that we didn't see before he left (it was a very minor leak that was an easy fix). I was using Mark for and quot;Handymanand quot; type work but I think his primary and quot;joband quot; is more along the lines renovation - for this reason scheduling was a bit interesting. He could typically tell me a day but not a time. For example, sometimes he'd text me in the afternoon and say and quot;I can swing by at 5 to do Xand quot; or and quot;I'm in the neighborhood, can I swing by in a hour to do Yand quot;. I work from home so for the most part this wasn't a problem for me although it did make my day a little hard to plan. However compared to the work he did and the level of trust I have in him (not only with doing the job right but also with having him in my home), I'd say this scheduling quirk is really a mute point. I will definitely use him again if the need arises!

AToppers ALL Construction
Called on a Friday for Mr. Topper to come and provide an estimate. He came by on Monday and was very polite and professional. An estimate was provided within a couple of days. I was pleased with the estimate as it was in range with others I received , however I then decided to change the brand of material used for the decking. Mr. Topper was very patient and furnished me with an updated estimate based on my new choice of materials. All materials had to be ordered but Mr. Topper kept me informed of the status all along the way. Upon his receipt of the decking boards which took some time to arrive (no fault of his).... he immediately scheduled an appointment to commence the job. He and his crew arrived right on the designated time and day .... even though a storm was predicted . The storm held off and the majority of the work was completed the first day. The second day the job was fully completed .... including the custom crafted back porch gate !! I was totally impressed with Mr. Topper and his crew as they all worked so well together and definitely gave me the feeling that they were interested in doing work that I was completely pleased with. Each day they removed all debris and cleaned up every work area. There was NO time wasted by this crew ! No long coffee breaks.... lunch breaks ...or chit chatting with one another. Their work ethic is to be applauded. Most importantly ..... all my friends and neighbors agree that my porches look beautiful and one can tell that attention to detail was provided by this company. Thank you Alan & guys for making this project an easy one for me !

AMiracle Method of Charleston North
We are very happy with the results and our new look kitchen. The only downside is that you cannot use the counter tops for 48 hours after they finish. That worked out fine for us. The person that did the estimate was very professional and very helpful. She did not do any high pressure, just here is the product and here is the price. She had many samples and colors to choose from. The guys that did the work were very careful to cover or mask everything near the kitchen. There was a new room paint smell for the evening after they left but that was all. We will use them again when we decided to get our cabinet doors refinished. If your counter tops need a "new life" -- this is the place to go! They work out of Charleston but they had no problem coming about 75 miles to our home to do this work We are not really sure why you would want to get all new tops when this process is available.

FAIR MECHANICAL INC
On 7/16/12, I had seviceman from Air Mechanical come to do a routine check on my HVAC unit. I was told that the unit needed to be replaced and a person from sales would be contacting me about a replacement unit. The following day a salesman came to look at the unit and gave me a quote on the replacement unit. While looking at the air handler he stated that there was insulation missing from the door of the unit, I explained that the serviceman had pulled it all off the day before and left it laying all over the attic floor (approximately 20 pieces) -- this was observed by the salesman. The salesman was livid with all of the insulation laying around and stated "How can I be expected to sell units when our servicemen leave messes like this?" He then looked at the heat pump and stated that it looked in really good shape for the age of the unit. In talking to him he stated that he wouldn't recommend replacing the unit until it quit working -- which he didn't think would be anytime soon. The salesman also apologized and stated that he would have the serviceman come back and install insulation on the door of the air handler. On 7/27/12, I sent a note to the salesman and explained that no one had been back to replace the insulation on the air handler door -- I didn't get any response to this message. On 8/18/12, I sent another note to the salesman -- his response "Didn't you get my message?" -- I responded that I hadn't received any message from him. On 8/27/12, I sent another note to the salesman, as well as copying office staff -- I got an immediate response from the office person through both e-mail and phone call but I was unavailable to answer either at the time. A few hours later I was sitting in my house and heard noises coming from my attic. Upon investigating I found the original serviceman in my attic. He never came to the door, just entered my open garage and went into the attic. His question when he saw me "What did you do with the insulation I tore out and left on the floor?" -- I explained that I had thrown it away. At this time it had been close to six weeks since he originally had ripped it out. He stated that he couldn't make any repairs without insulation and would have to get some and return the following day. Not once did he say anything about just entering my house without my knowledge. On 8/28/12, the serviceman returned and rang the doorbell (garage door was closed). He had a piece of old & dirty insulation that was approximately four feet long -- way more than he needed to do the job. It took him approximately 10 minutes to insulate the door. After he left I checked the unit and area and found a large piece of the old, dirty insulation thrown behind the air handler -- apparently he was too lazy to carry it out with him. I appreciate the immediate response from the office staff and the honesty of the salesman. The salesman should have followed up with his promises of getting the insulation repaired. The work of the serviceman left a lot to be desired in all aspects of his job.
