Recent Review: The problem started when a water filter housing failed and we water was pouring into the laundry room. My wife asked who should we call? My response was to call Disaster Plus (DP) at 843.7.247.247. Chris answered the call, evaluated the situation, and a DP team consisting of Chris and his son Kaleb arrived at our home shortly after. Chris started by taking pictures outside the house followed by pictures of the damage inside. I could tell by his take-charge attitude and his demeanor that Chris is a professional and experienced restoration Project Manager. We discussed the process DP would follow. Chris and Kaleb went to work like a well-oiled team. The water was extracted from the carpet, moisture readings were taken, appliances were moved, the damage to the (hard wood floor, carpet, pad and linoleum) were assessed. A dehumidifier and 6 or 7 fans were brought in to start the drying process. With all the above done Chris explained that we needed to let the fans and the dehumidifier run, as installed, until DP returned on Monday. First thing Monday morning a DP team (consisting of Jake and another Chris) arrived to check on the status of the drying process by taking moisture readings. They also remove the hardwood floor, the linoleum, and the carpet padding. The removal was done quickly and they cleaned up when they were done. Unfortunately, everything was not dry enough to remove all the equipment. Jake repositioned the fans so they would have the most effective drying potential in the areas that were not completely dry. Tuesday morning the DP team arrived to take new moisture readings. In some areas, the moisture readings were still not low enough and required another day of drying. Again, the fans were repositioned appropriately. Finally, Wednesday morning all moisture readings were within acceptable limits and all the drying equipment was removed. I highly recommend Disaster Plus. When you need, restoration help just call 843-7-247-247. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Recent Review: Unbelievably fast response. Immediately performed measures to ensure water damage could not progress and mold issues safely addressed. They worked directly with our insurance company and were paid directly from them. Austin kept constant communication with us and immediately gave and provided order in the chaos. His work was so tidy and his staff were friendly and efficient. We have now used him for our business and personal. Across the board his fees were much lower than I expected for the services performed. Our insurance company never hesitated when his bills were submitted, nor did his billing amount seem high or unfair to them. Definitely recommend.

Mistake #1:  I turned my washing machine on and we left the house for about an hour. Upon our return my daughter opened the door  to sloshing water. We had no idea how long the water had been running but we were shocked by the amount, probably 1.5-2 inches deep at the back door. I ran to the machine, shut it off and unplugged it .  Water had spread through the laundry room, a hallway, part of a bath as well as half of the kitchen, all of which had vinyl flooring. Also affected was the opening between the kitchen and the family room which is carpeted.  While we got busy clearing out the water, which I also noticed was spilling into the floor vents, we called a plumber to fix the washer. Turns out the washing machine hose detached from the pump. As the plumber left he told me to be sure everything got dry or we would have a mildew problem. Mistake #2:  My husband suggested using the wet vac, I didn't even know we had one. I probably spent more than an hour slowly going over the area repeatedly to draw out all the water. The carpet still felt a little damp but I figured it would dry out by morning. Next morning the carpet was dry. Life as usual. That evening, my teen son came in and asked about an odor in the house. I had been home all day and hadn't noticed anything. The third day we awoke to a stench in the house.  I didn't know what to do so I started with baking soda and Febreze, nothing helped. I could smell the mildew coming from the carpeted area and I knew the wet vac didn't do the trick. Good move #1:  I found Complete Scene Intervention on a recommendation from Angie's List. I also liked knowing they were bonded, licensed, and insured, most listings were not. I called that morning and two technicians arrived within the hour as promised.  After examining (and smelling) the extent of the water damage I was given recommendations for the work that needed to be done, and a price for doing the job. As a do-it-yourself-er I told them what I would be doing on my own. The price was adjusted accordingly and agreed upon. They started work soon after   They explained the procedure every step of the way and were very considerate of the household. The machines were kept out of the main walking paths as much as possible. They left the air mover all day in an effort to be sure everything was dry. The water was removed from the floor vents and filters were removed from air returns. This was followed by pumping elements throughout our vent system which made the whole house smell so fresh it was fantastic. Everyone working with Complete Scene Intervention was pleasant to work with.  They were friendly, courteous and honest. When I asked questions they gave me good tips and sensible advice. I was more than pleased with the service and I will definitely use their services again. I have also recommended CSI to family and friends who have been very pleased.
