Recent Review: The work was performed in a small room where we needed some old, damaged sheetrock (that was covered in adhesive cork board) removed.  Michael did this and then had a sheetrock craftsman come in and replace the sheetrock.  He supervised this contractor and then afterwards he replaced and restored all damaged trim and baseboard.   The work performed was to a very high standard and work area was kept clean. Michael had recently had knee replacement surgery, a very tough surgery to recover from, so he did take a day off to rest it during the few days this project took to complete.  This was not a problem since he kept in constant communication with me and we were not in any hurry.   I wouldn't hesitate to use Michael again and would recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

AWell Done Trim Construction
John does excellent work. The entire experience from initial consultation to install was exceptional. John has many years experience installing trim and the quality of his work shows. John only installs trim he does not chalk or paint. Since I enjoy doing this it was quite acceptable to me and I knew this when I hired him.

A large tree fell on my home during storm & I hired another contractor to complete repairs which included replacing 9-12 rafters/sheathing/shingles, re-building small front porch & adding 3 windows to sunroom. Original contractor installed the windows & did a lot of work on the roof but were very slow & work was sub-par.....they also had issues getting project permitted & I finally had to let them go. I was in a real bind to get repairs completed as I was in the middle of re-financing house when the storm hit. I contacted Commonwealth & they were able to come out & assess what needed to be done. They got the permits right away & got started. Most of the previous work had to be re-done....they removed the windows & added headers & proper support & re-installed, repaired roof & re-built front porch. All work was done professionally & in a timely manner. Also installed interior trim (baseboards/windowsills/frame) in sunroom, which I requested at the last minute, so house would be ready for appraisal. They did a nice job matching the original trim on older home. Would definitely hire again.

Follow up was excellent. When a problem arose, a creative work around was satisfactorily completed. Clean up after the job completionwas lacking.

APHR Painting & Home Renovations
David was extremely professional. His crew always arrived(s) on time and ready to work. They were polite and friendly and diligent. I have used PHR for the last three years for all my painting needs. I have 4 children so I am a frequent customer. I was not a member of Angie's List during the bulk of service but felt it warranted now because of the great work and service provided.

AAffordable Handyman and Painting Services
He does all kinds of services and I wasn't aware of that until I got to talking with him. He did a good job. The experience was very good. He was very kind and very courteous.  He did a really good job on both of the projects. He is going to put a garage door and sliding glass doors on a rental this weekend. He is really a handyman and he does a good job. The price was very good. The price of the tile was $625. I've had the tile done a few times before and this is the best. He was very punctual and very professional. I will absolutely use him again. I wish I would have known him sooner.

The patio was done by someone the company contracted. It came out out very nice. They were professional and efficient. There was extra work in digging up the old patio and they did a great job. The first deck was completed with no issues and came out fine. We had one shed demolished and removed and another pre-made shed built. They built a foundation and put together the new shed. They did a good job on both. The pool deck took quite a while to construct. Overall it is fine. A couple of issues: nails were left sticking out and unfinished, pool cover wouldn't fit even after it was mentioned that the deck was too close to the pool rim. A service person had to come back out and try to cut away some of the decking to accommodate the cover. Latch on the gate was not installed properly and a service person had to come back out. Replaced a window. Work was completed by a different worker. There was no call to arrange the installation prior to day of install and he just showed up. Window replacement trim was left unpainted. I was told I could paint it. There was a lack of communication with the foreman / coordinator. I had to continue to call to get start date and work started.

Other than some delays and a hiccup with the counter installation, it went relatively smoothly.  The remodeled kitchen look very much  like the design we had in mind and is surprisingly bright and spacious.  In this project we tore out a 50+ year old kitchen (knotty pine walls & cabinets, worn-out formica, ancient appliances).   We wanted a larger window for more light & to rearrange the counter layout.  We had planned this for several years and had done a lot of homework on cabinetry, appliances, tiling choices, etc., which paid off in spades: we know what we wanted done at nearly every step along the way.  The only exception was the replacement window; after roughing out the larger opening, the replacement (vinyl) window Mike came up with had no more glass than the original - the difference in size was all absorbed by the oversized framing.  We did more research and found a better window from a different vendor for not much extra money that suited our needs.  This did cause a delay in the progress - can't finish interior trim with only a temporary window.  Mike's crews were, for the most part, professional, efficient, and hard working - the plumber stayed until nearly midnight one night to finish his part so that the sheet rockers could do their thing the next day.  There were a few glitches - some outlets & light switches were not hooked up correctly the first time (easily fixed), a few cabinet doors were dinged and needed to be reordered (more delays), the main countertop slab was scratched & needed to be replaced (took some convincing but the installer's attempt to "buff it out" only made it worse; more delays) - but eventually everything fell into place.

AFinish Carpentry Services
Mike arrived to inspect the room and give us an estimate. There were no surprises on the final bill. He was always punctual, very detail oriented, a perfectionist with his work. He listened to what we wanted and added recommendations based on his years of experience doing finish carpentry in high end houses at places such as Kiawah, Seabrook and downtown Charleston. He was very neat and always cleaned up at the end of the day before leaving and checked with our schedules to coordinate the best time to come over. The work took a few weeks as we did add other jobs but we were extremely pleased with the finished product. It continues to look beautiful without a single crack or seperation in any of the mouldings. We would definitely use Mike again and highly recommend him to friends!
