Recent Review: This is the second time (second home) I called Dry Pro for an evaluation.  The first time they looked at a crawlspace and said no action required. Mark S called me 30 minutes before the appointment to tell me he was on his way.  He ended up showing up about 10 min early.  He looked at a moist basement and suggested that I monitor the situation and that doing something immediately would be a bit too aggressive (and potentially a waste of money). I know this review won't count as much because they didn't do the work, but I think it does speak volumes about how good they are about putting the consumer's interest before their profit.

Recent Review: Isaac Gruchow, Project Manager for Bradley Construction, has been extremely professional throughout our home renovation project keeping us well informed, responding to questions/concerns, staying on schedule and keeping us on budget.  All the subcontractors have been extremely professional as well and are doing quality work.  The roofers were amazing ? completing the job in one day!  The bathroom renovations that unexpectedly included removing old concrete and wire mesh floor and wall insulation are beautiful! Carlos and Javier have worked tirelessly installing subway tile walls, shower and bathtub with glass tile accents, Kohler Memoirs pedestal sink, dual flush toilets and Verdera medicine cabinets.  The basement has been transformed -waterproofed and painted.  And we now have central air conditioning!  I recommend Bradley Construction without qualification for any home renovation project!

Recent Review: Ed came as scheduled and repaired leaking bathtub faucets.  Needed special parts which he obtained quickly and completed repairs.  He was very friendly and knowledgeable.  We will definitely call him again when (not if!) we have a plumbing problem beyond my humble ability to fix, and we recommend him highly.  Price was quite reasonable.

FCantey Foundation Specialists
This is a review to help others who may be in a similar situation. Cantey Foundation came to our 90 year-old house to look at the basement for leakage and cracks in the basement walls. We purchased the house in 2015 and we were present for the home inspection and the inspector was kind enough to walk us through the home and present any notations he made. One of these was the basement wall cracks which he indicated were purely cosmetic. Fast forward 4 years and I requested Cantey come give us an opinion on the water which comes in the basement during heavy rain, and to look at the cracks. The "salesman" came to the house, was complimentary of our property, we walked the perimeter and I pointed out the only crack I have seen around the brick foundation. We then went down to the basement and the Cantey rep started in with the schtick. A few of the comments were; “this is the worst I’ve ever seen, you have a major problem”, “you all have done a really nice job on the inside but I’d hate to see this all cave in”, “can you get me the inspection report as I think there could be legal action against the home inspector”. You can see where this is going, so I requested a ballpark figure and was told ~$30k for repair. Little did this gentleman know, I have renovated 3 homes in my past, two of which were nearly 100 years old. Suggestion for the rep: just bc a customer is in their golf clothes, doesn’t mean he/she cant get their hands dirty. Oh, and im a sales rep and Sr. Trainer for a fortune 100 company, so learn to read your audience. I returned home after playing golf to my wife who was fairly upset about the $38K quote she received to “fix our basement” walls. I assured her, this house has stood for nearly a century, im confident without major seismic activity, it will still be standing for a long time to come. The character from Cantey followed up with me the next day (probably the mocking “if I can pay for this in cash, can you give me a discount?” I gave him before I left the day before) and said he could cut the price in half. I let him know that he can give the presentation if he’d like but, any decision that goes into the basement, especially for that amount of money would be quoted out and evaluated by a structural engineer. His response was a “snark” and then “you do know we’d have a structural engineer involved as well, right?”… Well, I’d **** sure hope so for that type of cash. I eventually spoke with two structural engineers who both LOL’d at the quote, told me to install a French drain, that the cracking walls weren’t our basement walls but where the crawl space was dug out to install the basement and they were indeed purely cosmetic. The footers for the foundation were intact far behind those walls. Ultimately, the system Cantey was selling is something the owner of the company invested in which has done very poorly and even if it isnt the solution, these crooks try to push the system anyway. For something this expensive, don’t you think they’d have some miraculous before/after pictures?? Yea, they don’t. It’s called “CarbonGuard” and its used to hold back cinderblock walls by increasing the downforce of your house to the footers. Maybe it works, maybe not, but its not even close to the solution we need and would have been a total waste of money but a great payday for Cantey. Don’t fall for the non-sense. There are other services in the area which will come take a look for free and give an honest opinion. I could go on but no need. Just do your research and never stroke a check for anyone without getting multiple opinions because they’ll happily take it and you’ll be SOL.

1) We had a leaky chimney, it had been slowly leaking into our ceiling for a while and we didn't know why.  In February 2014, we contacted Decker Home Repairs.  Jamie came out and gave us a quote to take off all the siding from the chimney and re-wrap it to keep the water out.  We hadn't been able to find anyone else who would even go up on our roof, so we signed up and set the date.  2) On the date they were supposed to come out, two guys who weren't Jamie came out, got up on the roof, took off all the existing siding from the chimney leaving the boards exposed, let all the nails fall into our yard, left for lunch, and never came back.  At around 5pm, I called Jamie to ask what happened since a big storm was coming, and Jamie was obviously upset at what the guys had done.  He came over immediately and wrapped the chimney with asphalt wrap and picked up the nails. It rained that night and we didn't have a leak, so it appeared to be fine.   3) The next day, another guy, also not Jamie, came and re-installed the siding over the wrap, and did a fine job.  I paid them and thought we were done.   4) In August, we had a gigantic rain storm.  At 3am, I woke up to the sound of rain dripping through the ceiling down to the mantle and floor.   I e-mailed Jamie that morning, and went up on the roof myself to see why it was dripping.  I saw that the water, instead of dripping off the crown of the chimney to the roof, was actually running back under the crown and behind the siding they had installed.  I told Jamie this was my theory, and when he came out the next day he confirmed it was the problem.   5) Jamie installed flashing on the crown to make sure the water drips off instead of sliding back under.  We've had a couple big rains since then and the attic is so dry it's dusty, so I'm 100% confident Jamie fixed the problem for good.   I gave them a C for professionalism because of the first guys that came out, they left the chimney exposed and threw nails in the yard that are dangerous for my kids and wife.  Jamie told me he's never using them again.  I put B overall because of the same issue and I think things go better overall when Jamie comes out himself instead of sending someone else.  I put A for price because apart from Jamie, I couldn't even get anyone else to go up there and figure out the issue, much less fix it.   Overall, I want to say that: A) I would hire him again.   B) He does quality work himself, and he's a very pleasant guy to deal with. C) The leaky chimney issue is fixed, and in the end that's all I wanted anyway D) When he says he has a one-year warranty on his work, he means it.  Six months after he did the job, I had an issue with it, and he came over the next day and made it right.   The only recommendation I have for someone hiring his company is to ask how much he's going to be involved personally.  As long as he's doing the work or there to make sure it's done right, everything goes well.   I hope I was accurate and fair in my review.

John arrived when scheduled, which was the same morning that I called. He had the kit in the truck for the repair. He was personable and patient as my dog took a strong liking to him. As of now I have no leak, but if I do I will call them back.

It was excellent, they put booties on to come into the house, there had been a leak, they mopped up the water, wiped the floor, fixed the leak, kept me informed, showed me what was done. Mark Chapman was a complete professional, his helper Danny was excellent. Would be glad to call them again if the need arose

This was top-notch service from the initial phone call to the invoicing/payment. They were courteous and respectfull on all my phone conversations which was then outdone by the personal service I received when the technician arrived. It was uncertain where the leak was in my yard so prior to just digging a hole and searching, they first removed the turf setting it to the side so as not to damage it and spread a covering on the grass to place mud and dirt so as not to make a muddy mess. They then began the process of finding what was going on. After a lengthy search the problem was isolated, repaired and the ground and turf replaced with minimal impact to my yard and grass. The technician even returned after a couple days to "fill in" dirt in areas that had settled. They gave flawless customer service at a very fair price and I recommend their services to others and will use them again.
